अज्ञान के कारण जीव देह, इन्द्रिय, प्राण, मन, बुद्धि आदि में अहं बुद्धि करने के कारण ८४ लाख योनियों को प्राप्त होता हुआ दुःख भोगता है।

Because of AJNANA (ignorance), the JIVA (being) does AHAM-VRTTI (I-am-ness) in the DEHA (body), INDRIYA (sense-organ), PRANA (vital force), MANA (mind), BUDDHI (intellect), etc. Because of this, it begets one of 8.4 million YONI-S (wombs) and suffers.

Question for Jiddu Krishnamurti: Did you not follow a Guru on your way to attainment? If so, why is it a crutch for us, who are still in the process of attainment?

JIDDU KRISHNAMURTI: [...] Because I had a Guru at some time, it does not mean that you must have a Guru. When you see a lame man, you need not become lame in order to understand his lameness. I maintain that I have found that truth for which the world is seeking and longing. I have gone by the long road, but from the point of view of attainment I see a shorter and more direct way, a more joyous and delightful way. And you from your complicated and narrow point of view say, "Because you took the long way, so must I." If you wish to slip down the precipice into the darkness and climb again to the height, you must please yourself. It is not a question of leading you; I do not want to lead anyone - that would be terrible. What I want to do is arouse the desire that will give you understanding. When you have really understood, you will not betray nor step down the truth.

'नेति-नेति' इस प्रकार के वेद के कथन से आरोपित समस्त दृश्य-अदृश्य जड़ वस्तुओं का प्रतिषेध (इन्कार, अस्वीकार) करते करते एक ऐसी अवधि तक पहुँच जाने पर जहाँ कोई दृश्य 'नेति' रूप से विद्यमान नहीं रहता है, अन्त में शेष बचा हुआ जो 'नेति' का साक्षी तत्त्व है, वही आत्म-तत्त्व‌ है। उसका निषेध कोई भी किसी प्रकार नहीं कर पाता है क्योंकि वही एक समस्त प्रतिषेध की अवधि है। अर्थात् प्रतिषेध करने वाला वही (आत्मा) है। प्रतिषेध का साक्षी देनेवाला वही आत्मा है। उसका प्रतिषेध करने वाला कोई अन्य न होने से उसे इन्कार करना असम्भव है। इस प्रकार सबके साक्षी रूप से आत्मा की उपलब्धि बिना किसी सन्देह के हो जाती है।

'NETI-NETI' is a KATHANA (saying) of the VEDA. NETI means 'not this.' By "NETI-NETI', the PRATISHEDHA (the denying, non-acceptance) of all DRSHYA (seen) and ADRSHYA (unseen) JADA (insentient) objects is done. By this, that AVADHI (period) is reached where no DRSHYA (seen object) remains in the form of NETI (not this). Then, at the end, that SAKSHI (witnessing) TATTVA (substance) which remains is ATMA-TATTVA (the TATTVA or substance that is the ATMA or the Self).

None can do the NISHEDHA (prohibition) of that ATMA-TATTVA because that ATMA-TATTVA is the AVADHI (period) of all PRATISHEDHA (non-acceptance). In other words, the one who does the PRATISHEDHA (the denying) is that ATMAN (Self). The one who gives the SAKSHI (witnessing) is that ATMAN (Self). That ATMAN cannot be denied because there is none who can do the PRATISHEDHA (the denying) of that ATMAN. Thus, the UPALABDHI (cognition) of that ATMAN which is the SAKSHI (witness) of all is achieved without a doubt.

JIDDU KRISHNAMURTI: Without understanding yourself, there is no renunciation of the world; without self-knowledge, there can be only escape, called renunciation, which gives birth to endless problems and miseries. It is like a stupid man renouncing stupidity but he is still stupid; his very attempt to become clever is still stupid. If he becomes aware of what is stupidity, which is himself, then surely he will understand greatly. In understanding 'what is' is the beginning of wisdom; the awareness of 'what is' opens the door to reality.

फिर तो कोयल कू-कू कर रही है, चिड़िया चहचहा रही है, कुत्ता भौंक रहा है, नदियाँ बह रही हैं, वृक्ष-टहनियाँ झूम रही हैं, पौधे नाच रहे हैं, तो सब ओर उसकी ध्वनि, उसका ही संगीत, उसी का नृत्य दिखाई‌ पड़ता है।वह कहाँ नहीं? वह क्या नहीं? वह कब नहीं? वही अखण्ड सर्व देश, सर्व काल, सर्व‌ रूप में विद्यमान है।

Then when the cuckoo is cooing, the bird is chattering, the dog is barking, the rivers are flowing, the tree and tree-branches are swinging, the plants are dancing - it is his sound, his music, his dance is seen everywhere.

Where is he not? What is he not? When is he not? That AKHANDA (unbroken) entity is there in every DESHA (nation), every KALA (age), every RUPA (form).

You ask why I do not speak of LOVE, of COMPASSION. Does the flower talk about its perfume? It simply is. I have spoken about love; but to me the important thing is not to discuss what love is or what compassion is, but to free the mind from all the LIMITATIONS that prevent the natural flow of what we call love and compassion. What love is, what compassion is, you yourself will know when your MIND and HEART are free from the limitation which we call EGOTISM, SELF-CONSCIOUSNESS; then you will know without asking, without discussion. You question me now because you think that then you can act according to what you discover from me, then you will have an AUTHORITY for your action.

ब्रह्म जब भी प्रकट होगा, किसी न किसी उपाधि के रूप में ही प्रतीत होगा। निरुपाधिक की तो प्रतीति हो ही नहीं सकती। और हम उस उपाधि को ही अस्वीकार करते हैं कि उपाधि वाला ब्रह्म नहीं हो सकता। लेकिन विचार करो उपाधि को भी तो उसी ने प्रकट किया है। वही तो उपाधि रूप में जाहिर हो रहा है। उसके सब रूप हैं, वही सब रूप में है तो फिर उसके किसी भी व्यवहार में 'क्यों लगाने का प्रश्न ही नहीं रहता। जब तक यथार्थ ज्ञान पूर्ण ज्ञान नहीं हुआ तभी तक क्यों बना रहता है। एक बार पूर्ण ज्ञान, सर्वे रूपया का ज्ञान होने पर अस्वीकार करने जैसा कुछ बचता ही नहीं है।Whenever BRAHMAN manifests, it manifests in the form of one UPADHI (title) or another. There will never be any manifestation of anything which is NIRUPADHIKA (non-UPADHI), And we do not accept that UPADHI, saying that the one with an UPADHI cannot be BRAHMAN. But think - the UPADHI has been manifested by BRAHMAN only. BRAHMAN is appearing in the form of UPADHI. All form are BRAHMAN's, it is in all forms; then there is no question of asking "why" for any of its behaviors. As long as YATHARTHA (appropriate) JNANA (wisdom) has not dawned, so long the question "why" remains. Once PURNA (full) JNANA or JNANA of SARVA-RUPATA (all-forms) dawns, nothing remains that is non-acceptable.

JIDDU KRISHNAMURTI: You must develop your desires and not repress or throttle them. Make your desires so consummate, so perfect, that they have no limitation. Do not be afraid of desires. What you perceive you desire, and if your perception is small, narrow, limited, your desires will be the same. If your perception is one of a tranquil, stagnant, indifferent life, your desires will help you to that. But if your perception is to be absolutely limitless, free, unconditioned, whole, continual, active, then all your desires will be boundless, ecstatic, profound, rich. It is exactly the same way with thought and affection. If your thoughts are merely, all the time, reactions to the personal element, then they will place a limitation on you. The same with love and affection.

सम, शांत, निष्क्रिय परमात्मा को हम सम, शांत एवं  निष्क्रिय होकर ही जान सकेंगे। हठ योग द्वारा सम परमात्मा को नहीं जान सकेंगे।We can know the PARAMATMA (Supreme Self) that is SAMA (equanimous), SHANTA (peaceful), NISHKRIYA (inactive) by becoming SAMA, SHANTA and NISHKRIYA ourselves. By HATHA YOGA, we cannot know the SAMA PARAMATMA.

Swami Niranjanji Maharaj: Someone told you that your mind is ASHUDDHA (impure) and you accept that you are a PAPI (sinner). Whereas, hundreds of scriptures say: YOU ARE BRAHMAN; YOU ARE SAT (Truth), CHIT (sentient), ANANDA (of the nature of bliss), EKA-RASA (immutable), SHUDDHA (pure), NITYA (ever-present), MUKTATMA (free Self) - but you are not ready to accept that.
