He’s Alive Again: The Present-Day Ministry of Jesus 5

Jesus Christ is risen and alive, this is the foundation of our faith and the essence of His present-day ministry. Often, we focus so much on what He did in the past that we forget He’s actively ministering even now.

His present-day ministry operates in two realms: in heaven and on earth. Heaven is the headquarters of Kingdom and the earth is the operation field. Jesus present day ministry on the earth is through the Holy Spirit and the church, in heaven He serves in a number of roles but we will consider three that directly impact us.

1. High Priest: Jesus, after His resurrection, presented His own blood to the Father as the final sacrifice for our sins. As our high priest, He continually represents us before God, fulfilling the priestly role of standing in the gap for humanity. Hebrews 4:14 reminds us that we have a great high priest in God's presence—Jesus, the Son of God.

2. Advocate: Jesus is also our advocate, our divine lawyer, supporter, the one defending us against the accusations of the enemy. According to 1 John 2:1, even when we stumble, we have Someone who speaks on our behalf before the Father. His advocacy doesn’t excuse us from prayer or give us the right to sin because we have an advocate.

3. Intercessor: Jesus still intercedes for us. His prayers continue for us in heaven, as seen in the book of Hebrews. His intercession ensures we’re continually covered and supported in our walk with God.

These three roles, high priest, advocate and intercessor are a major part of His present-day ministry in heaven and influence every aspect of our spiritual journey on earth. They are not just theological titles; they are active, ongoing expressions of His love and commitment to us. May His present day ministry become real in your life in Jesus’ Name.

He's Alive Again: The Present-Day Ministry of Jesus 4

Many wonder what Jesus is doing now. Is He in heaven simply to wait for the rapture of the saints? Is He watching us from afar as we go through life’s challenges?

The Bible clearly shows that Jesus is not idle in heaven. He is actively involved in our world.

Ephesians 1:20–22 (MSG) says God raised Christ from the dead and set Him in authority over the universe—galaxies, governments, and all things—now and forever. Christ rules it all, through the Church.

The Gospels show Jesus' earthly ministry, but the epistles reveal His ongoing work through the Church. How does He do this?

John 16:14–15 (TPT) explains that the Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus by receiving what is His and revealing it to us. Everything the Father has belongs to Jesus, and the Spirit brings that divine knowledge to us.

This highlights a powerful partnership: the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, and us.

Though Jesus ascended, He is present on earth through the Holy Spirit. He reveals the will of the Father to us, and as we respond in obedience, that's how His will is done on earth as in heaven.

So, part of the present-day ministry of Jesus is this: He receives from the Father, gives to the Holy Spirit, who then reveals it to us. Through our obedience, Jesus continues to rule and work on earth.

The more we yield to Him, the more His glory is revealed. You have a vital role in this ministry.

He’s Alive Again: The Present-Day Ministry of Jesus 3

Jesus’ ministry is well and active at the right hand of the Father in heaven, He’s for the restoring and fulfilling all things. This work is ongoing and will continue until the end of time. The work Jesus is doing from heaven today impacts on the entire universe, government, the church and even into our personal lives. Many of us need restoration and long to see God’s promises fulfilled in our lives. Jesus is doing this work—through the Holy Spirit, the angels and through us, His church.

A powerful reminder from an old song declares:

“He’s alive again, the stone’s been rolled away.

He’s alive again, He is no longer where He lay.

He’s alive again, I can hear the angels sing.

He’s alive!”

The truth of this song is encouraging to us, why? No matter how dark or hopeless life gets, Jesus is alive, and the devil does not have the final say. Jesus’ current ministry is about bringing healing, purpose, and power to every area of life.

Eph. 1:20-22 MSG, All this energy issues from Christ: God raised him from death and set him on a throne in deep heaven, in charge of running the universe, everything from galaxies to governments, no name and no power exempt from his rule. And not just for the time being, but [forever]. He is in charge of it all, has the final word on everything. At the center of all this, Christ rules the church.

Jesus taught us to pray, “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” God’s will is being carried out through His people on earth today. As we grasp this truth and yield to Him, we walk in His authority and dominion.

His Descent and Ascent 6

This Easter Season is a good time to remember God’s love for us and the finished work of Christ.

Jesus didn’t just die—He descended into the lower realms, broke the power of hell, and rose victorious. He took captivity captive. The devil once had control and held people bound in spiritual chains, but he could not hold Jesus.

Act 2:24 TPT, God destroyed the cords of death and raised him up, because it was impossible for death’s power to hold him prisoner.

Death, sin, and hell had no power strong enough to stop Him.

Eph 4:8-10 TPT This is why he says: “He ascends into the heavenly heights taking his many captured ones with him, and gifts were given to men.” 9 He “ascended” means that he returned to heaven, after he had first descended from the heights of heaven, even descending as far as the lowest parts of the earth. 10 The same one who descended is also the one who ascended above the heights of heaven, in order to begin the restoration and fulfillment of all things.

Jesus’ resurrection and ascension broke every chain. He stripped the enemy of authority. And just as the devil couldn’t hold Jesus down, he can’t hold you down either. The same resurrection power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in you today. That’s why, when people give their lives to Christ when they confess, pray and surrender to the Lord devil can’t stop them.

Jesus’ ascension is our liberation. He didn’t just rise, when He rose, we rose up with Him and ascended with Him with authority. The enemy will do everything to try to intimidate, distract, or confuse you about this reality, but the truth remains whether you believe it or not.

Christ’s ascension is Satan’s demotion and your elevation. You’re are now seated with Christ in heavenly places far above every demonic force. (Ephesians 2:6)

This is the good news about Easter.

His Descent and Ascent 5

It’s Good Friday!

Everything is working together for your good in Jesus’ Name.

Christ’s descent and ascent is the subject that we are still discussing and that is really about the three days and nights He spent in the belly of the earth. The shedding of His blood on the cross was the price He paid for our sins, but His descent and ascent, secured our victory from the devil, death and the other forces of hell.

Colossians 2:15 (TPT), 15 Then Jesus made a public spectacle of all the powers and principalities of darkness, stripping away from them every weapon and all their spiritual authority and power to accuse us. And by the power of the cross, Jesus led them around as prisoners in a procession of triumph. He was not their prisoner; they were his!

In those three day and nights, He completely disarmed the powers and authorities of darkness and made a public spectacle of them. He didn't descend as a prisoner, but as a conqueror. After His conquest, He paraded them as prisoners Just like in the Roman Empire used to parade their prisoners through the streets after their victory. In Matthew 27:52-53, we read that when Jesus died, the veil in the temple was torn and many who had died were seen walking through the city — a powerful sign that death had lost its grip.

Psalm 68:18 says, “You ascended on high, leading captivity captive.” He took the righteous who had been held and brought them out into heaven and there was nothing the devil could do! His descent and ascent is a clear indication that the forces of hell are not as powerful religion has tried to make them. The Resurrection Experience is a reminder that in Christ we are more than conquerors ONLY BECAUSE OF WHAT CHRIST HAS DONE.

Go over these truths again without rushing, go through the bible references and then meditate and watch how these truth will radically change your life.
