Damon Bruce Plus: 49ers, Warriors, Giants, National Headlines, Bay Area Sports Talk

Look at what Purdy's walking into for 2026: Mike Evans, the best WR's he's ever called "teammate". Christian Kirk brings slot reliability. De'Zhaun Stribling adds vertical speed from the draft. Ricky Pearsall is finally healthy. Christian McCaffrey is back. Trent Williams just re-signed to protect his blind side. And George Kittle, while recovering from his Achilles, anchors the identity of this offense when he returns. This is the most loaded supporting cast Purdy has had since his Super Bowl run — and he's a better quarterback now than he was then. I'm making the case for why 2026 is the year Brock Purdy silences every remaining doubter.

De'Zhaun Stribling, Romello Height, Kaelon Black, and Gracen Halton are all legit NFL prospects who can help this roster — no argument there. But three trade-backs, a total exit from Round 1, and a draft board that keeps defying consensus raises the same old question about this front office.

Pick #1 — No. 107 | DL Gracen Halton | Oklahoma

Halton totaled 84 career tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, and 9.5 sacks at Oklahoma. At the combine he ran a 4.82 forty and recorded a 36.5-inch vertical jump. San Francisco 49ers The explosive interior pass rusher you just looked up — now officially a 49er alongside Romello Height to give San Francisco two new disruptive D-linemen from this draft.

Trade — No. 133 → Ravens

San Francisco sent 133 to Baltimore in exchange for No. 154 and a 2027 sixth-round pick. San Francisco 49ers Lynch just cannot stop accumulating — even late in Day 3 he's building future capital.

The 49ers didn't make a single pick on Day 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft — and that might be the smartest thing John Lynch has done all year. San Francisco traded back twice last night in Pittsburgh. First, they moved pick 27 and pick 138 to the Dolphins for picks 30 and 90. Then they flipped pick 30 to the Jets for picks 33 and 179. The result: first pick of Day 2 at No. 33 overall. The 49ers are on the clock. Let's go.
