When a group of thieves break into Damsel the elephant's stall, their unkind and nasty plotting takes its toll on Damsel's usual kind and compassionate demeanour.  Her owner, the king, upon the advice of the Buddha, surrounds her with wise and holy sages, who are able to restore her to her former kind and loving self.
