Wrestling is what the people of God have been doing since the beginning. It's embedded in the story of Jacob, patriarch of the Jewish people. Maybe wrestling with God and issues concerning the soul is what the Church should be talking about and doing more of these days.

"A pilgrimage is praying with your feet", writes Ian Morgan Cron in his book Chasing Francis. Pilgrimage is a different way of looking at life and pilgrims strive to find this way. Darrel Harvey embodies the "pilgrim way". Some of Darrel's story reached far and wide in the form of a letter in the middle of an epic canyon trek. Larry "Grey" Mitchell is a truly fascinating individual. Hear more of his incredible story and the legacy that he hopes to leave behind. Spend 10 minutes with Larry and you will hear his vision for "setting a Big Table for God" so that anyone and everyone can sit and have a deep and meaningful conversation. Another 10 minutes may reveal his methods for walking with people through disorienting dilemmas while gently, and lovingly, challenging their comforts and preconceived notions of what life is all about.

Our world is moving at a breakneck pace. Our faith is not immune to this movement! Deconstruction of God, Christ and Church are popular today. Now, how do we reconstruct that which is being taken apart in helpful ways? What does this mean as we consider The Good News of Jesus and how to "be the church" in 2018 and beyond. Phyllis Tickle's book, The Great Emergence, describes something called the 500 year rummage sale. The idea is that every 500 years (or so), a great shift occurs within the church. Part II of our conversation with David Bell is an accessible conversation about where the church has been, where we are now, and what elements to take along with us from the latest spiritual rummage sale.
