William James (January 11, 1842 – August 26, 1910) was an American philosopher and psychologist, and the first educator to offer a psychology course in the United States.[5] James is considered to be a leading thinker of the late 19th century, one of the most influential philosophers of the United States, and the "Father of American psychology."[6][7][8]
Along with Charles Sanders Peirce, James established the philosophical school known as pragmatism, and is also cited as one of the founders of functional psychology. A Review of General Psychology analysis, published in 2002, ranked James as the 14th most eminent psychologist of the 20th century
"It has sometimes crossed my mind that James wanted to be a poet and an artist, and that there lay in him, beneath the ocean of metaphysics, a lost Atlantis of fine arts: and that he really hated philosophy and all its works, and pursued them only as Hercules might spin or as a prince in a fairy tale sorts seeds for an evil dragon, or as anyone might patiently do some careful work for which he had no aptitude."
John J. Chapman, a friend of William James
"I started learning how to cook last year, after 30+ years of eating takeout and/or others cooking for me (Shout out to my incredible mother Andrea, and Taco Bell). So, I took some photos of the food I cooked. A guy I know had a clothes printer, so we started putting these photos on really comfortable hoodies purely because I wanted to wear them. Then when I did, people were like “I like that hoodie!” or “Cool hoodie.” or “Where’d you get that hoodie?”
I started this brand to accommodate those people, and maybe more people, and to hopefully spread some joy. Maybe seeing the words “Appreciate you.” on the back of your shirt will make the stranger walking behind you smile for even one second. To me, that’s a win. I decided to allow customers to choose the charity/cause that their 10% of proceeds go to because I don't know what's best. If there's one thing I do know, it is that.
I hope you like the stuff that we’re making, and I hope you’re having a great day/week/month/year. I appreciate you taking the time to come to this silly website full of food clothes, especially if you’re still reading this.
Finally, and this is important, please don’t take anything I do too seriously. I’m just having some fun, hopefully you are too."

As an immigrant and sexual abuse survivor, it would have been very easy for Marina Miller to give in to the "victim mindset." In fact, early in life she recounts that she was trapped in a pattern of self-destructive behavior due to self image issues. It wasn't until a medical scare that she realized that she no longer knew herself. After a period of self reflection, she realized in her words, "what happened to me doesn't make me." So she began to love herself and take care of herself, and set out on a path that would lead to her starting a number of businesses, ultimately becoming the CEO of a telecom company and real estate developer with her husband. We talk about her journey, how small perspective shifts led to huge positive changes in her life, and her view on what is happening today in Ukraine.

"I was born to learn and to instruct. In elementary school I coached younger students in math in return for comics-drawing lessons. In high school I mentored struggling middle school students and taught dance.
Though I initially arrived at college intent on a career in diplomacy for the State Department, I found myself consistently drawn away by my love of teaching and experiential education. In spring of my junior year, I completed a semester in the Rockies with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) and learned valuable communication techniques that I use with students to this day.
After graduating from college, I worked as an instructor and coordinator with outdoor education nonprofit organizations in addition to coaching students across the gamut of standardized tests. Working with students highlighted the importance of both deep understanding of and technical proficiency with mathematical concepts, so I pursued and received a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Southern California and a California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics. Since then, I have continued to tutor students one-on-one while also developing my skills as a classroom teacher." - Sarah J
Cockcroft and Walton came together while at the Cavendish laboratory under Ernest Rutherford. In 1928, George Gamow showed that particles could tunnel through potential barriers by applying the newly available quantum mechanics. Cockcroft understood the implications of Gamow’s tunnelling theory - that a much lesser energy than earlier thought might be sufficient for a proton to penetrate the nucleus.
By 1929, they had built the Cockcroft-Walton generator, which with a system of capacitors and thermionic rectifiers could reach voltages up to 600,000 volts. It took them three more years but on April 14, 1932, the research duo bombarded a layer of lithium with hydrogen in a discharge tube that had been accelerated using their generator.
The result? The lithium broke into two helium nuclei and shot off in opposite directions - an atom had been split and nuclear transmutation of one element (lithium) to another (helium) had been achieved for the first time under human control.
Particles can create massive amounts of energy, and maybe you can too.
"My name is Andrew, I am an artist and designer who is a product of too many comic books, a love for the eccentric, and an early exposure to surrealist art that permanently altered how I see the world. I've lived in the city, the beach, and the Midwest, but nothing feels more like home than my studio. Formally trained in the fine arts, I draw inspiration from textile patterns, traditional techniques, forgotten masters, exploring new mediums, and a constant need to change.
A love for fine art, fashion, and beautiful design has fueled the need for a new chapter in my life as I build a unique and non-linear path forward. I currently live in Columbus, Ohio and divide my time between biking, hunting for the perfect pizza, constructing my own lifestyle brand (a dream since middle school,) painting personal works and commissions, and creating unexpected illustrations and designs for clients such as; Tigertree, Cubshrub, Circa Survive, Mott CPAs, and more."

On January 26th, 2019 I suffered a spinal cord injury at my C7 vertebrae. The technical term for my condition is "quadriplegia." I push a manual wheelchair and have 1 properly working, though weak, hand. I run an ice dyed apparel business with my wife called Ohio Drip, I have this podcast, I recently became a mentor with the Christopher and Dana Reeves Foundation, and I work full time. Life has become colorful.
This is the audio from a presentation I gave about my story and how I shifted my mindset from one of "why me?" to "Why Not Me?" Why can't I figure out a way to play and have fun even though I feel like a young kid stuck on the porch in timeout.
This is my view from the porch.
