We all have to handle disappointing events in business. A client who decided not to proceed with an offer, a candidate who turned down an offer, an employee who simply missed an opportunity. While these unpleasant events are no source of happiness, one should handle them with professionalism, remain calm and carry on.
What grind my gears are situations where others act in a way that demonstrates a lack of basic respect or even unethical behaviour. Why did this driver decide to take my priority, making me perform an emergency stop? What motivated that guy in the supermarket to cut the line? Well, in daily life, we have to handle this kind of event, they might frustrate us, but it comes with the package we ordered when we decided to keep on breathing that morning.
But do we need to accept unethical or rude actions in business? It might be, but this does not mean that we should miss the opportunity for addressing them.
Today, it is about me being angry.
