Are you Dan Kelly? I might be, alias Shri Fugi Spilt, an emerging voice in Chinese and Russian podcasting, and even India too in my turbo charged imagination. Taoist, Hindu, Gnostic, Pagan poser, angel in a brown paper wrapper, pretending not to be what I most certainly am. As we all are, playfully, heroically, sweating and grunting, compromising our dignity and status, but that’s the prerogative of divinity, to appear utterly ridiculous and still rock. let’s imagine that 12 years ago I fell asleep and dreamed a dream of flying a starship through the cosmos, with the best crew ever, maybe we all take turns being captain, depending on what the situation is or we just rotate through shifts… and when I woke up from that dream, I had the precise plans for how to build the motor, the FTL drive. You know, it’s not that big a deal turns out, FTL drives are fairly straight forward, there’s a few rare earth magnets involved and the whole thing is about the size of a large mailbox. As a matter of fact, I used a mailbox to build the first one. So I built this motor, actually I built three, one to drive the ship and two more for back up.

Hugs! Big hugs to my avid audience of crickets, crows, seagulls and ants. Flowers pushing up through the loam and sand, blooming are you! Tra la, it’s May the lusty month of May and this is the Daughter of Godcast, a compendium of stories about the making of the science fiction featurette Daughter of God, at least that’s the facade, the garment. Tug the silky fabric off the shoulder and reveal the universal story, a story about you, how YOU made a movie, tuning into the hints and whispers, listening to disembodied voices, dreaming decisively. How you woke up one morning and found a unicorn sleeping beside you.

In episodes 034 and 035, I skipped a few crucial components of 2013. The skinning of the greenhouse, the great Czech sing-a-long Dan Novak led at my beach birthday campfire and my first inkling that extracting the story of DOG’s making might be worthwhile, which led to our conspiring together to create this podcast the Daughter of Godcast.

And I fell in love. With a woman.

Yesterday while incarnating wilderness on my back steps, staring into the sun’s twin on the languid lake, I felt I could keep my eyes open indefinitely. I stared at the sun a lot as a kid, watching the white wheel unscrewing from the sky, round and round forever. Is staring at the sun bad? Not according to some Tai Chi masters. Anyway, yesterday. I blinked fast into the burning, intense reflection, tripped out a little and discovered beautiful confusion. A sweet shorthand for the being alive ride.

Hey neighbor, friend, far away. Hello sister, brother, lost relation. Greetings spacefarers, crew of the Starship Earthenprize, Astronauts Asian, African, American, Aboriginal, Artical! Standby for another transmission from somewhere earlier in our Sunward swinging. This is the Daughter of Godcast and I am Dan Kelly aka Shri Fugi Spilt or something who looks and sounds very much like him, a cosmic crab safe in his swirling seashell, wearing the stigmata, doing a bang up job of pretending to be just me, claiming the cosmic Oscar for my role as mere mortal. Just like you!

Oh to once again be speaking, smiling into the future, to entangle myself, dualistic and digitalian. I point devices from the early 21 century in my approximate direction, devices barely better than stone knives and bearskins for capturing some fraction of my visual and audio radiations. These primitive devices are all we have in the way of time machines in this here and now, one way only, some shadow of myself travels to the future with a message, a hint about who I might have been, what my ride felt like. Welcome to the Daughter of Godcast, Episode 033, Comet. We’ve been reeling in the years for 32 episodes. On the cusp of 2013 and easing off on the longer podcast format, back to a concise 15 or so minute length for the foreseeable.

There are spring rites and rituals to perform, ablutions, anointings. The asteroid deflection tower that protects Earth from fragments of rogue comets needs a core balancing and celestial sphere recalibration. That requires rappeling into the subterranean silo with a pack of iron rations and wandering for weeks in megalithic, labyrinthian passages under the influence of homebrew neuro enhancements. Recording podcasts down there is problematic what with intense natural reverb and guttering torchlight. Plus forgetting how to pronounce the word the.

2013 is not going anywhere, 2013 will keep. For this magic episode 033, or 3 x 11, let’s have an apocalypse update. As Daughter of God is THE most post apocalyptic movie EVER, we’ve got to stay absolutely up to date with the latest apocalyptic trends and fashions. Welcome to the Daughter of Godcast Episode 032, Waves. Last week my life energy was shunted to an immune response, so episode 031 was a slurpy, sniffling mess, and very late. If you survived listening last week, I’m happy to report that I’m now back and firing on almost all cylinders, game to deliver a coherent and distilled episode, or a fair simulation of one.

I must have watched Transcendant Man on or before July 17, 2012 the day I wrote to Ray Kurzweil, asking if he had any open source tools for reconstructing his dad, and wishing him a safe arrival at the Singularity.

With this podcast, I am archiving enough of me to reconstruct a reasonably accurate facsimile of Dan Kelly aka Shri Fugi Spilt, if not THE me. So when Ray does eventually release his open source persona resurrection tool kit, these episodes could be the raw material for your very own version of myself. Oh, what I do for you people.

The Daughter of Godcast podcast is available as an audio/video version and an audio only version. The audio only version should be all you need, at least that’s my quest. So I occasionally have to be a bit virtousic at translating images into words. Especially when expounding on the joys of visuality. We’re hacking that old adage, a picture is worth 1000 words. Y, this is the Daughter of Godcast, stories of the making of the post apocalyptic romantic comedy featurette, Daughter of God, 11, well maybe 12 years in the making since this gentle release continues through 2017. Pre-production and primary shooting happened in 2006, but I cast the die  in 2005.

When I was a kid growing up in Pound Ridge, NY, my older teen brothers Steve and Mike helped me understand the anatomy of golf balls. I am not sure if today’s golf balls are made the way they were in the 70s, but back then, if you carefully removed the dimpled plastic cover, there’d be a single strand of rubber wrapped around and around. We would get in the family station wagon, grab the rubber strand and drop the ball out the back window. We would then drive the twisty, hilly roads, letting the golf ball skitter and unravel behind us. This usually required many miles of driving before the golf ball eventually unwound down to hard marble sized solid core. This is the sort of thing teenagers did before 1st person shooters and ubiquitous network porn.

Boys unraveling golf balls behind a station wagon on rural roads evokes a Ray Bradbury innocence. Then we all grew up to be a rocket captains on the Mars run, eventually raising our own little families in clean bungalows by lazy canals and red mountains. You can hit a golf ball pretty far on Mars.

We are revisiting the later half of 2012, more than half way through the history between way back when and the blossoming now. We’re dangling the DOG story out the back window of our station wagon, and I expect we’re going to unravel the whole thing, another 30 or so episodes ahead, if we account for my segues, diversions, dubious spiritual ramblings and ranty social commentary.

Here in 2017, we’re still making history, winding more rubber even as we unravel. That’s the space time continuum for ya.

I caught a cold a few days back which is the excuse I’m using for the delay of this week’s episode, I was hoping I could be a little more perky before recording. Plus 2012 had a lot going on. AND the DOG goings on in March and April of 2017 are inviting me to show up as more myself than ever.

Daughter of God’s gentle release is much bigger than this podcast and mostly invisible for now. In 10 or so weeks, I’ll be summarizing the wildness happening right now. Future episodes are being born even as these words nuzzle up to your cochleae.

In March 2 – 12 I drove back to NYC and then Philly for a series of re-unitings. I saw the Tai Chi family, my gorgeous Africans, met up with Dave Crowley and Darcy Peck of cowboy wedding and forest fire fame in episode 021, then drove down to Philly to see Marion, Jung Woong and their son Ari whose magic quilt encompasses all of Lake Michigan from Episode 025. I enjoyed urban camping in the Odyssey, complete with composting toilet. The habits of Hello World persisting, artifacts of a sustainable civilization insinuating themselves into our enhanced every day.

What a delicious surprise! We’re all still here, doing what we do so well, jabbering and pondering, lying and appreciating, loving the loss and pointing at the moon.

Episode 030 and entering 2012, that year of profound transformation, the end of the Mayan calendar. Another age, not the new age but the now age, our enhanced human presence on Earth. So subtle a start, only a few of us knew, could feel the flutter of fresh wings freed from countless chrysalises. From then until now, only 5 years but so much awakening, the global bloom.

Perhaps you might not know what the heck I’m talking about, maybe you’re walking a rough road, and pain is yet prominent in your experience. Overloaded with the All American Anti-Christ, or whatever thorny topic is big and bright. I applaud your persistence and stubborn tenacity, your love of adventure. Making the movie of your life, your very own post apocalyptic romantic comedy featurette, for isn’t that what so many are living RIGHT NOW? Hey 2012! That’s when we got the news that we can make whatever movie we want.

When you’re ready for a break from reality production, there’s brisk organic lemonade and fresh syntho doughnuts at craft services. This is called foreshadowing.

In this episode, we’re going to touch 2012, those halcyon days, and awaken all over again. Remember what we weren’t and then wonderfully were. Through my little lens, the Dan Kelly ride, which of course isn’t a ride at all, or even a river. A me-ing, that I reconstitute imperfectly; which is the only way a story can be told, for flawless recall would mean an alternate immersion, and you’ve already got your very own sparkling river.

Though I’m an oddball, a kook, a freak, a terrorist, a wonder, a wizard; I offer myself every week as a placeholder, an every man, the guy next door who mows his Chemlawn® and drinks Sanka®. For what we imagine to be our here and now comes from backlots and prop houses, you can plug into my script as well as another. We are all big celebrities playing at being adoring fans.

2012 was focused, inspired, reinvigorated. Crashes and launches, overings and openings. The bulk of this episode is the usual pragmatic nuts and bolts reportage and philosophical fireworks. Also starting this week we’re introducing selections from the Daughter of God Deep Development Archive, static streaked fireballs flung from the swirling vortex. Just a taste, a test really to be sure your ready. After 30 episodes, you ought to be.

In Episode 029, 2011 Dede Alder and I had teamed up to do minimalistic music videos. In January 2012, she showed up to do a concert at the Artist house. Patrick made a quirky video of the after party which snagged an award at the next Micro Movie Marathon. Erin Louise Hoag (the ice dancer from Episode 027) is playing Dede’s vibes and Dede, Lena Maude Wilson and I are on vocals. Brad Kinnan plays a confused dude from the sticks, perhaps he’s the greek apostle Luke or John Lilly. I play Jesus, of course.

Visually, not much is happening. Imagine a dissonant stage musical with cowherd gopi maidens lavishing a reclining Krishna in Jesus drag. Then Krishna / Jesus stands up. That’s all there is to see.
