Emergency crews are responding to Little Cottonwood Canyon on a report of skiers trapped in an avalanche. Dave and Debbie break the story live as updates come through. According to officials, three skiers were involved in the avalanche and two remain unaccounted for. Search and rescue operations remain ongoing. Kevin Eubank from the KSL Weather Center breaks down the specific dangers of spring avalanches, Craig Gordan, Forecaster for the Utah Avalanche Center shares what is known so far. 

A protest at the University pf Utah was dismantled by police on April 29th , with law enforcement stepping in after protestors refused to break down and remove an encampment in President's Circle. According to officials from the police department and the university, the encampment was deemed illegal. Dave and Debbie debate if the use of camping is ever a valid form of protests. 

A northern Idaho prosecutor won't bring hate crime charges against an 18-year-old accused of shouting a racist slur at members of the Utah women's basketball team during the NCAA Tournament. In an announcement Monday, officials wrote that though the use of the slur was "detestable" and "incredibly offensive," there wasn't evidence suggesting that the man was threatening physical harm to the women or to their property. KSL Legal Analyst Greg Skordas joins D2 to explain the details, and discuss what is and isn't protected speech.  

U.S. Rep. John Curtis, Riverton Mayor Trent Staggs, former Utah House Speaker Brad Wilson and businessman Jason Walton are currently on the June 25th primary ballot aiming to replace retiring Sen. Mitt Romney. U.S. Senate Candidate and Former Utah House Speaker Brad Wilson joins D2 to talk about his goals if reelected, including cutting spending and budget improvements on a federal level in order to aid Utah families.  

A group led by Ryan Smith, who is the owner of the NBA's Utah Jazz, purchased the Arizona Coyotes last month, and it was announced that the franchise would be relocated to Salt Lake City, starting with the 2024-25 season. Ryan Smith's entertainment group and the National Hockey League has released a survey for the public to cast their votes on the new Utah NHL team name. The top 20 suggestions includes names like Venom, Freeze, Mountaineers, Frost, and Yeti. D2 go through the names, and take calls from listeners who tout their favorites.  

According to the National Education Association's most recent report, Utah ranks tenth in the nation for starting average teaching salaries, at $49,555. The overall average teacher salary is reported to be at $63,481, while Utah's average minimum living wage is $65,223 annually. Dave and Debbie react to the news, discussing what other factors, outside of pay, might contribute to the hardships Utah's teachers face. Co-host of KSL's Utah's Morning News, and substitute teacher, Amanda Dickson, joins D2 to discuss student's bad behavior and how parenting can help ease the teaching experience.  

The State Auditor's office has released a statement of discontent ever since his office has been flooded with bogus complaints about transgender people using the wrong bathrooms. The complaints are largely an act of defiance by activists, flooding the online complaint forms. In a statement, Dougall said his office has become unwilling "bathroom monitors." Bill sponsor Rep. Kira Berkland responded in a statement saying that backlash was expected, but the bill succeeds in protecting women and girls. State Auditor John Dougall shares his input with D2.  

Senator Lee, alongside Chip Roy, have introduced the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, legislation led by Senator Lee in the Senate and Congressman Roy in the House. It would require proof of American citizenship to register to vote in federal elections. Inside Sources Host Boyd Matheson speaks to the broader issue of why conservatives have distrust in the US election system and what can be done to regain confidence in elections.
