Did you know that when you die, your debt - specifically your medical debt - doesn’t necessarily die with you? It does in some states but not in Utah… Specifically, when it comes to medical debt, Utah state law allows hospitals and doctors to come after the surviving spouse for the deceased spouse’s medical bills.  Imagine losing your spouse and then - right after - getting slapped with a massive medical bill. According to the American Diabetes Association, roughly 8.4 million Americans depend on insulin to survive. Eli Lilly is cutting insulin prices by 70% and capping out-of-pocket insulin costs at $35 for people who have private insurance and use participating pharmacies. Utah teachers are bristling after an email was sent from the district reminding them that if they're stressed out at work, they can't take a "Mental Health Day.” Or at least they can't use the "Mental Health Day" excuse to use up one of their sick days. We've made a ton of progress in the area of mental health at the workplace... but sometimes it feels like we're finding all the excuses not to go to work. The Shoshone tribe is suing Idaho and two Fish and Game officials, claiming the state denied their right to hunt and fish on its ancestral lands as guaranteed by the 1868 Treaty of Fort Bridger. Idaho argues that the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation wasn’t part of the treaty.
