  • Softy and Dick H1 - Live Mariners Opening Day coverage from Jimmy's On First with guest host Chuck Powell
We're Opening Day coverage began with Chuck Powell and the morning show from Jimmy's on First, and it will conclude with Chuck Powell guest hosting with Softy. Dave and Chuck discuss their expectations for the 2019 M's season with such a big roster shakeup. How soon could we realistically see this team turn this thing around. The Sweet Sixteen also gets underway tonight with all games on 950 KJR. We talk a little Gonzaga and Oregon basketball before their matchups. Finally, Niner Nate hits the streets to see if anyone knows anything about this year's Mariners lineup.

  • Softy and Dick H1 - The more you earn, the more you throw? / Mike DeCourcy on college basketball / Bigger surprise: M's win 60, or 80?
Softy and Slickhawk had an intense debate in the Sports Pit this afternoon about how to handle Russell Wilson. Slick says if we're going to pay Russ the big bucks, he needs to throw the ball more, but the offense seemed pretty effective last year running the ball. Why would you mess with a good thing? The Dawgs aren't in the Sweet Sixteen, but we're still ready to talk some college basketball courtesy of Zeeks Pizza. Mike gives us his synopsis of the Huskies' games against Utah State and UNC, his thoughts on Mike Hopkins as a coaching rising star, plus a look at the Sweet Sixteen matchups. Mariners officially open the season at home at T-Mobile Park tomorrow afternoon. Would you be more surprised if they won 60 games, or won 80? They might not be World Series champs, but will they really be that bad?

  • Softy and Dick H2 - Why the M's might be okay / Petros Papadakis on Spring football, the Staples Center crowd, and more / Textimonials
A lot of fans say they'd be more surprised to see the Mariners win 80 games this season than win only 60, but things aren't as hopeless as they seem to many people. The roster is still full of talented, experienced players. Petros Papadakis joins the show every Wednesday to discuss sports, and basically anything else that enters his mind. This week, Spring football, the fans that attend games at the Staples Center, palomas, and porn stars doing yoga. Textimonials react to the first two hours of the show.

  • Softy and Dick H3 - How confident are you in Rashaad Penny? / Mike Hopkins on the 2018-2019 season / Romar or roll the dice?
If something were to happen to the Hawks' top running back Chris Carson, how confident are you that Rashaad Penny is ready to step up? Did we see enough of him last season to give us a good idea? The Dawgs' 2018-2019 season is now over. We hear from the Dawgs' head coach Mike Hopkins one more time to recap the season, talk about what he'll advise Jaylen Nowell to do, and look ahead to next year. Given everything we know, would you take the first eight years of Lorenzo Romar right now, or roll the dice with Mike Hopkins?

  • Softy and Dick H1 - Buying out Felix's contract? / Which Husky team will do better? / Brian Wheeler on the Jusuf Nurkic injury
With the start of another baseball season, the conversation on what to do about Felix begins again. Maybe it's best to try to give Felix the proper send-off he deserves. Why don't the Mariners just buy Felix out, let him figure out what's next for him, and move on? There are a lot of questions about next year's Husky teams, both football and basketball. Which team is likely to be the best next year? Obviously a lot of factors could change things; Jacob Eason's level of play, whether or not Jaylen Nowell returns, etc.

  • Softy and Dick H2 - Malik McDowell has been cleared? / Jon Wilner: Bol Bol, ex-officials / Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto
Malik McDowell was reportedly cleared to play, which Pete Carroll responded to somewhat snarkily. Do we even really know what's going on here? Well, we've never really known. Michael Avenatti (yes, that Michael Avenatti), has alleged that Nike gave money to Bol Bol. We find out from The San Jose Mercury News' Jon Wilner whether there's any truth to this story, and how much it will be investigated, plus ex-Pac-12 officials speak out, and Softy asks if Jen Cohen is rooting for Oregon. Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto discusses his expectations for the 2019 season, the biggest surprise of Spring Training, Ichiro's retirement in Japan, and more.

  • Softy and Dick H3 - Sounders coach Brian Schmetzer / Fun with Audio: Jimmy Kimmel on Gonzaga / PI calls can be reviewed / Tuesdays with Tip
The Sounders have had a week off, now are they ready to face the Vancouver Whitecaps this weekend? Head coach Brian Schmetzer gives us the game plan for this weekend's match. On Fun with Audio, Jimmy Kimmel still doesn't believe Gonzaga exists. Among other rule changes today, the NFL has allowed pass interference (and non-PI) calls to be reviewed. NHL Seattle's senior adviser Dave Tippett updates us on everything going on with the hockey franchise.

  • Softy and Dick H1 - The dream of a Final Four is over / What's next for Jaylen Nowell? / Excitement meter for Mariners baseball
Well the Huskies easily got through the Aggies in Round 1, but didn't do so well against UNC on Sunday. Dick and Dave look at what went wrong in Round 2. Now that the season is over, what's next for Jaylen Nowell? Will he jump to the NBA? One would have to imagine that he'll at least check out his NBA options, and if he doesn't see what he wants, he'll be back. Guys get criticized for jumping to the NBA sometimes, but isn't that what college is for: to prepare you for the next level? The Mariners open their season at T-Mobile Park on Thursday. Where is your excitement level at? Opening against the Red Sox is almost like starting on the road. Maybe at some point we can get our stadium back from opposing Boston and Blue Jay fans.

  • Softy and Dick H2 - The Tom Izzo controversy / Max Unger discusses his retirement / Textimonials: Nowell
Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo has gotten a lot of heat for an interaction with one of his players over the weekend. Did his chastising go to far, or are we all just looking for reasons to be offended? The Michigan State players didn't seem to have a problem with it, and the controversy may in fact bring the team closer together. Former Seahawk Max Unger announced recently that after ten years in the league, he would be stepping away from the game. He joins us to explain what led to the decision, his thoughts on the NFC Championship missed PI call, his time with the Hawks, Wilson vs. Brees, and more. Textimonials come in at 49451 reacting to the first two hours of the show, including someone who seems confident they know what Jaylen Nowell's next move will be.

  • Softy and Dick H3 - How does rooting for Oregon help Washington? / Donald Watts on UW basketball / Fans are angry at Felix
Not only is Oregon the lowest-seeded team to remain in the NCAA Tournament, but they're also the only Pac-12 team left standing. Should Washington fans root for Oregon? Dick feels that with the reputation of the conference taking such a hit over the last few seasons, any good representation will help the entire Pac-12. Softy can't justify rooting for a rival under these circumstances. Donald Watts shares his opinion on rooting for Oregon, plus insight into what went wrong in Sunday's game, what he'd tell Jaylen Nowell, and what the team's expectations should be next season with and without Nowell. Fans seem exceptionally angry at Felix Hernandez, and their tone needs to change. Yes, he's not pitching well, and yes he's still collecting a huge paycheck, but it's not like he's not trying. He could have deserted us in free agency, bu the chose to stay here and try to win a championship, and deep down, he knows he's not been able to do that and it frustrates him.
