  • S4, E16 - Let’s Talk About Sex

An in depth and irreverent look at 90's TV classic Dawson's Creek hosted by Kathryn and Katie.

This week, we’re still talking about Joey’s virginity and we just can’t with this anymore. Joey and Pacey want a night together so are evicting Gretchen who pops over to Dawson’s for a nonsensical fight. Also, Jen and Jack are stalking Jen’s therapist LOLOLOL you guys! We’re chatting sexual cocktails, what Dawson smells of, Katie creates a new word to describe Dawson and Pacey’s unclean dressing gown. Also, does anyone work in TV because Katie has a killer pitch for you. So, let’s continue to talk endlessly about Joey’s virginity, ignore a perfectly fun Drue storyline, create a web of lies from hell for reasons that go unexplained, have yet more ‘therapy lols’ and play FIND BODIE. The prize will be worth it everyone.

Thanks so much to our Angel Gabriel for helping to name this weeks episode!

  • And Just Like That… We Did a Bonus

Remember all those endless bonus episodes we keep promising to do? Well we finally bloody did one! By popular demand (kind of, not really) we have dragged ourselves into the world HBO Max to get annoyed about the first episode of the Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That.

The first episode in this series is called ‘Hello, It’s Me’ and we have lots to talk about. Carrie has a podcast (or does she? Who knows?) and an Instagram, Charlotte is still a Park Avenue Princess and Miranda has grey hair (the horror!) and is doing a Masters. We also get to meet some new characters and see some old favourites (Stanford!). We’re chatting how they wrote Samantha out (eye roll to end all eye rolls), how apparently women in the their 50’s are just dinosaurs who can’t negotiate the modern world and a really strong (and sad) ending to a pretty terrible episode. So let’s be confused by the modern world, reference the pandemic far too much, smack ourselves right in the face with some over correction of past terrible diversity issues and then be sad. Step your pussy up, people!

  • S4, E15 - Dick Advisor

An in depth and irreverent look at 90's TV classic Dawson's Creek hosted by Kathryn and Katie.

This week, we’re dealing with the morning after in more than one way (well, four actually) with a number of different narratives. We’ve got Joey and Pacey arguing about sex (can you believe it?), Dawson dealing with the loss of Mr.Brooks, Jen getting the quickest therapy appointment ever and Dawson and Joey saying sorry to each other a whole lot. We’re chatting what ‘airplane size’ bottles of booze means, how much we enjoy a good ‘lay’, the best place to bury a body and how to explain pregnancy to a child. Also, Katie is not over how no one skied on that skiing trip. So, let’s start another fight over nothing, get emotional about the Counting Crows (yes, it’s probably projection), have an impossibly fast paced therapy appointment and continue to be unnecessarily weird about sex, woooooo! Oh by the way, do you look different?!?

Thanks so much to the lovely Angela for helping to name this weeks episode!

  • S4, E14 - Sex and Death (Live in Manchester)

An in depth and irreverent look at 90's TV classic Dawson's Creek hosted by Kathryn and Katie.

This week, it’s finally the shedding of Joey’s blessed and very important virginity (eye roll), and we’re back and recording live in (Colin) Manchester at the fantastic GRUB! Everyone (except Dawson) is off on senior trip to a very nice ski resort where it’s all about sex. Meanwhile, back in Capeside, Dawson has to make quite a heartbreaking and wholly unlikely decision orchestrated by Buster from Arrested Development. We’re chatting the most intimate thing you can do, probably quite inappropriate tonal shifts, why we shouldn’t live our lives by movie messaging and Anna and Drue based narrative confusion. So, let’s manage some incredibly strange tonal shifts between actual death and senior trip lols, get hammered at a minibar (we don’t need to be asked twice), do some arguing then finally let go of some very problematic societal constructs, yay!

  • S4, E13 - College Girls Gone Wild!

An in depth and irreverent look at 90's TV classic Dawson's Creek hosted by Kathryn and Katie.

This week, we’re continuing on our unsponsored Dawson’s Creekathon and we’re losing our minds! Joey and Pacey are on a double date that sucks quite a lot and are still arguing about everything (despite the fact they are the ‘perfect couple’!) Dawson is dealing with Gretchen’s super grown up friends (who share Gretchen’s terrible judgement) and we’re getting worried for Mr. Brooks. We’re chatting how Gretchen is a horribly awful employee, what Gail would be like as a northern English mum (brilliant is the answer), leprechaun tattoos and our continuing Dawson induced trauma. Also, we’ve got a brand new original song for you all! So, let’s ignore a fairly significant gap in experience and age, go to that jazz bar everyone ends up at (again), play a dull game of crazy golf and then deal with a very upsetting ending. Loosen your grip and swing through, everyone, it’s about finesse and not power!

  • S4, E12 - Thank The Lord For Denim

An in depth and irreverent look at 90's TV classic Dawson's Creek hosted by Kathryn and Katie.

This week, it’s our sweet angel Pacey’s birthday and we’re at a very horrible birthday ‘party’.  Gretchen is (rightly) embarrassed to be dating Dawson and the worst character ever, Tobey, is back and being extra specially awful. We’re chatting knowing about dogs, Katie proves she knows literally nothing about science or James Dean, who the mystery celebs she was a ‘star dancer’ for and Sheriff Witter’s ability to hold his drink. So, let’s attend a really awful birthday party where we rail on Pacey (not in a good way), fail to understand why Joey would even participate in said party and get more offended and upset than we have ever been about a character (yes, even AJ). Let’s get ‘star dancing’ everyone!

  • S4, E11 - Only Grams

An in depth and irreverent look at 90's TV classic Dawson's Creek hosted by Kathryn and Katie.

This week, we’re getting all philosophical on it! Dawson can’t keep his beak out of Grams and Mr.Brooks (banging) business all while he is pretending to let fate decide on his relationship with Gretchen. Joey is locked in an incredibly unpleasant situation with Drue and Gretchen and Pacey are a lot a terrible frat brah party at Kappa Delta Douche. We’re chatting how relationships in Capeside are super transactional, a ‘woe is me’ off (cry me a river, Drue), upsetting fire hazards and equally upsetting car ‘troubles’. So, let’s pretend we know about philosophy (we don’t but neither do the DC writers), remove all autonomy from women, sit in a skanky hot tub, get excited about Grams getting rattled and pretend that Dawson has had feelings for Gretchen forever and Joey barely factored in his life at all, everyone!

  • S4, E10 - Don’t Give a Tinker’s Damn

An in depth and irreverent look at 90's TV classic Dawson's Creek hosted by Kathryn and Katie.

This week, it’s still kind of Christmas and we are agonizing over Dawson and Gretchen’s accidental mistletoe kiss whilst Pacey and Joey’s 15 year marriage crumbles under the weight of having children. Also, Jack and Jen meet the worst character since AJ (yes we’re making that claim). We’re chatting Regretching something (a regret by Gretchen, good eh?), things we’d rather do in Capeside than hang out with Tobey, why Jen and Joey are so horribly out of character this episode and a Christmas tree getting lit, brah. Also, Katie has yet another unanswerable question for us. So, let’s pretend to be friends, try to save our crumbling 15 year marriage, be completely infuriated  by a new character and not be angry or annoyed, just very, very disappointed.

  • S4, E9 - Dawson: My Struggle

An in depth and irreverent look at 90's TV classic Dawson's Creek hosted by Kathryn and Katie.

This week, it’s a holiday episode (except not really a holiday episode but kind of a holiday episode). We’ve got not one but TWO parties to attend this week and both are only ok in terms of fun and lols. Dawson is told he’s rubbish by a professional which is enjoyable and he is also completely overstepping Mr. Brooks boundaries again. We’re chatting cock lodging (decided not to make that our episode title), lyrical wanks, that we are all Mr. Brooks really and how not a single one of us will ever drink eggnog again.  And there's more disturbing confessions to be made. So, let’s get all Christmassy, dig into our excellent black tie wardrobe, argue about nothing, gretchsplain everything to everyone and get busy under that mistletoe with some eggnog!

  • S4, E8 - Fingered by a Dog

An in depth and irreverent look at 90's TV classic Dawson's Creek hosted by Kathryn and Katie.

This week, we’re recording face to face so do excuse any issues with sound and also the fact that Katie has created her own ‘continuity bell’ with the use of a metal straw. We’re on a Usual Suspects rip off this episode and there’s a CRAZY prank that needs investigating by the Principal from The Simpsons (and Mitch! Bloody Mitch!) Pacey, Dawson and Jack are in the frame and someone might get nailed (hopefully Pacey and Jack). Also, Kathryn is super excited about the stylistic elements of this episode (fun, eh?) We’re chatting what Katie thinks about at night, how we now fancy Doug, Dawson being IMDB (get over yourself mate) and some out of character Pacey behaviour. So, let’s get fingered by a dog, nail Pacey, Jack and Dawson (all 3 or none at all), make some cryptic references about karma that don’t necessarily make sense and investigate the PRANK OF THE CENTURY, you guys!
