  • S4 Recap - Insidious

An in depth and irreverent look at 90's TV classic Dawson's Creek hosted by Kathryn and Katie.

This week, we’re recapping the fun and games that was S4. We’re answering your questions, considering some explanations  and really just mourning what could have been with Pacey and Joey. We’re chatting Joey and Pacey vs Andie and Pacey, Katie’s terrible, terrible manifesting, Jen and Jack being under utilized and jumping the shark. So let’s strap in for a season of crumbling 15 year marriages, therapy lols, switching off life support machines and ask ourselves the incredibly important question - what did Dawson actually DO during S4?!?

  • S4, E23 - SOULMATES, Joey

An in depth and irreverent look at 90's TV classic Dawson's Creek hosted by Kathryn and Katie.

This week, we’re parsing the title ‘Coda’ a bit too much. Dawson is going to USC, Jen and Grams are moving and we’re saying goodbye. We also have to consider a lot of binary choices and have an opinion dividing ending. We’re chatting lots of great throwbacks to S1 and S3 (his name is Warren, not Russell!), how spoilt monster Dawson is out in full force, we do some inflation conversion (thrilling, we know) and what exactly we made of THAT ending. So let’s play an endless game of ‘Would You Rather?’ (or as Katie calls it ‘her life’), throw a spoilt BF over a laptop, say goodbye and then ruin bloody everything in 30 secs. Hope you have the same pissy energy for yourself that you had for Pacey, Dawson!

  • S4, E22 - Are You OK?

An in depth and irreverent look at 90's TV classic Dawson's Creek hosted by Kathryn and Katie.

This week, we’re graduating with a slightly dubiously named episode (Pacey? S1? No?!?) Anyway, Joey has a speech to make, Pacey is ‘on the bubble’ apparently, Dawson is doing something or whatever and ANDIE IS BACK, WOOOO! We’re chatting Doug’s very tight police uniform, how we can’t stand Dawson in ‘Yoda mode’, a new euphemism that revolves around Grams kitchen and a really strange musical/horror hybrid in Principal Peskin’s living room. So let’s rehearse a graduation (why?), retake a test, read a letter, make a speech and finally take our own paths. It’s a tear jerker everyone so get ready for a good old SOB.

  • S4, E21 - A Sign to Drink Wine

An in depth and irreverent look at 90's TV classic Dawson's Creek hosted by Kathryn and Katie.

This week, we were expecting fireworks after Promicide but instead we got… kind of one of those smoldering fires that you can’t quite get going. To remedy this, we got drunk and dealt with SIGNS, everybody. Joey and Pacey are looking for signs, Dawson is looking for signs and Jen just doesn’t really want to leave Grams which might be a sign, we don’t know.  We’re chatting how to end relationships (cut them out!), why everyone is so bloody weird about money in Capeside, Dawson wanking on about (and over) his own films AGAIN and how appalling that ‘Poppa Dawson’ comment is, vom. So let’s not have a load of drama over something that arguably should have a load of drama, looks for signs everywhere, resign ourselves to ‘the end’ and say goodbye to everyone’s favourite know it all, Gretchen.

  • S4, E20 - The Meaning of Boats

An in depth and irreverent look at 90's TV classic Dawson's Creek hosted by Kathryn and Katie.

This week, Katie is BACK and we’re going to a prom on a boat (of course). Everything is fairly rubbish for everyone involved made worse because no one can get off said boat. It’s a tough episode and one we know our listeners aren’t crazy about due to Prince of Capeside, Pacey Witter, being a dick. We’re chatting Jack’s smouldering angry face (again), how no one thinks of Abby Morgan, Katie’s hilarious Ted Dancing malapropism and how Dawson’s Creek will be her defence in a court of law. So let’s jump on a boat laden with fairy lights, take all our frustrations out on other people, ruin our relationships and never talk to each again. Sounds great, sign us up.

  • Young Americans E1 with IntoleRANT - Shoot Your Load

This week we’re FINALLY fully wading into the mental lake that is Coca Cola Presents Young Americans, a Dawson’s Creek ‘adjacent’ TV series. Kathryn is very happy to be joined by the amazing Jess and Nads of IntoleRANT podcast to talk through this 45 minutes of insanity.

The very oatmeal Will Krudski (yes, that’s his name), who showed up in S3, E19-21 on Dawson’s Creek, was inexplicably given his own TV show and it’s… not good. The writers threw everything they’ve got at it and the result is a lot of loads being shot very early. We’re chatting Will’s intense lack of charisma, taking a moment or two to think about Alexander Skarsgard,  improbable timelines of love and how Will is bad at everything from using the right volume to meeting word counts. So let’s shout all of our secrets really loudly at strangers, be inspired by crap teachers (call me Finn!), commit a spot of incest and write a seriously under the word count essay. And remember, we’re here for a good time not a long time!

  • S4, E19 Pt2 - Listener Edition - Bitches Be Crazy

An in depth and irreverent look at 90's TV classic Dawson's Creek hosted by Kathryn and Katie… usually! Except this episode it’s a listener edition! Katie is AWOL and Kathryn is joined by two of our wonderful listeners, Victoria and Louise. We had so much to say about this ep and Dawson’s Creek in general that we’ve split it into two halves.

This week, everyone is still late and nothing is much different from Part 1. Gail is back in the hospital AGAIN, Pacey is still AWOL which is making Joey ‘neurotic’, apparently, and Dawson and Gretchen are repeatedly having the same conversation. Also, there is a sad Tobey storyline which made us empathize with him. We’re chatting why Gretchen won’t sleep with Dawson (apart from the obvious), getting some much needed ‘me’ time, Pacey’s hat and pregnant pauses. So let’s not be able to tell the difference between labor and indigestion, still miss Pacey deeply, become low level Tobey defenders, be very sad and finally deliver this baby. And remember, bitches DO be CRAZY.

  • S4, E19 Pt1 - Listener Edition - Piss Baby

An in depth and irreverent look at 90's TV classic Dawson's Creek hosted by Kathryn and Katie… usually! Except this episode it’s a listener edition! Katie is AWOL and Kathryn is joined by two of our wonderful listeners, Victoria and Louise. We had so much to say about this ep and Dawson’s Creek in general that we’ve split it into two halves.

This week, everyone is late! Gail’s baby is improbably 2 weeks late, Joey is ‘late’ (we all know what that means) and Jack’s ‘pathological tardiness’ has some sad knock on effects. Also, Dawson is super baffled that Gretchen would be planning her future even though he clearly is planning his own.  We’re chatting maternity improbability, how Joey has no chill, the yummy looking sandwiches at Gail’s ‘naming shower’ (urgh) and sone terrible representations of parenting. So let’s be late in a whole manner of ways, be massively pedantic about medicine, miss Pacey and repeatedly call Dawson a ‘piss baby’ (because he is!)

  • S4, E18 - Sandy Vaginas and Blue Balls

An in depth and irreverent look at 90's TV classic Dawson's Creek hosted by Kathryn and Katie.

This week, we’re on ‘ditch day’ with three different storylines. Joey and Jen are in NY to recover some memories, Dawson and Gretchen are on a nightmarish road trip (complete with terrible, and unlikely, stereotypes) and Pacey and Drue are drinking tequila. We’re chatting another one of Gretchen’s CRAZY stories, Dawson’s white privilegedJeep of guilt,  what might be wrong with Gretchen’s vagina and sex on the surface of the moon. So let’s head off to NYC or a dive bar (because we absolutely refuse to go anywhere with Dawson and Gretchen, they make us vomit), uncover some tough truths about ourselves and have the most horribly visceral reaction to a single line of dialogue in Dawson’s Creek. Let’s go!

  • S4, E17 - It’s Just Money!

An in depth and irreverent look at 90's TV classic Dawson's Creek hosted by Kathryn and Katie.

This week, we’re dealing with college admissions (or not). Joey finally got into Worthington (which we’re supposed to be surprised by?), Dawson’s didn’t get into NYU (bloody NYC) and Jen is finally making some progress in therapy. Also, Bessie has a new hairdo and Bodie is back! We’re chatting how Katie’s ‘Find Bodie’ pilot worked, that Gretchen is actually Santa Claus, how Dr Frost is shilling a living and hanging off Drue’s curtains. So, let’s once and for all complete the redemption of Dawson, continue everyone else’s downhill spiral, finally get a bit of justice for Jen and point blank refuse to take out very necessary student loans! Yay!
