Jesus said He came into the world as a light. John described Jesus as the light of life. And Jesus told us that even we are the light of the world, if He is in us. What is this connection? How can we bear the Light of Life? Do we consider the weight of this glory in us? Might we stop ourselves from conjecture, and assumptions and let Jesus show us, shine His light on us and reveal the doubts and dishonor we have brought to the power of His presence in us.

Today is the second part of Living in God's Plans for Us. Each sentence of this meditation is advice for staying the course, for realizing we can trust Him to lead us, to reveal His plans for us, and to live in what He has purposed - proving His will is indeed good, acceptable and perfect for each of us.

In the beginning. When we hear that phrase we immediately think of the creation of the world. Our perspective is from our point in time. In the beginning was a long, long time ago. Yet, God was before time started. And Jesus was and still is the Living Expression of Father God. Time and eternity. Jesus, God joining us in Time, and Jesus, existing as God, Creator, before Time. All that was made was done for us. Beauty for ashes, a light in darkness, a promise set deep in our hearts that there’s more – that time may end, but we will not.

This meditation has two parts. The first one, today, postions us. We are to listen as sheep listen and obey their shepherd. We are to trust, that we will be fed, and protected. We are to believe that goodness and mercy are with us every day of our lives. This establishes our thoughts and keeps us from wandering away from God's best for us.

The light Jesus brought was a spiritual one. We can not see it with our eyes, yet we sense it when we meet others who are lit by the presence of Jesus in them. There’s a gentleness to the face, and often compassion in the eyes. The lamp of the Lord, is the light of life – Jesus. It is He who shed light on our human soul, who illumi-nates the darkness shares the knowledge of God to us. As we’re asked, let’s live as children of light and find out what pleases God.

Consider these words describing the love our Heavenly Father has for us in this Scriptural meditation. We are deeply loved and cherished, children of the Most High God. What an honor it is to be thought of this way. Rest in these truths.

Our God is a personal God. He wants us to understand that as our Father, He is near, and is personally interested in our concerns and well-being. The scriptures tell us to pour out our hearts to Him, to share with Him the details of our lives, because in doing so, we will sense His nearness and realize He hears us - and He cares.

We are accepted as we are. We are not ignored or cast aside as 'not good enough'. We only need to believe it. We belong and our Father is delighted to see us - all of the time. Run to Him and see for yourself!
