  • Suicide Squad, Supergirl plus Krypton TV casting
    On today's show, Tom and Zac talk some minor news pertaining to Suicide Squad, before quickly getting into TV talk. Supergirl debuted on the CW to strong ratings, and a major change may be coming on that show to the character of James Olsen.

    The Krypton TV pilot recently rounded out its cast as filming is set to begin. In addition to the previously announced characters Seg-el and Lyta Zod, several other main cast members were announced. Deadline reported the additions of Val-el, Daron Vex, Alura Zod, Kem, Nyssa Vex, and Dev-em.

  • Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders review!
    Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders is here! Tom and Zac watched the new animated film last night and are here to provide both non-spoiler and spoiler review and reaction. Set in the world of the TV series and 1966 film Batman: The Movie, Return of the Caped Crusaders returns Adam West as Batman, Burt Ward as Robin, and Julie Newmar as Catwoman.

    In this review, the hosts discuss the Fathom Event theater environment and compare it to Batman: The Killing Joke. The also give their non-spoiler thoughts on the movie and the cast. They also discuss how it holds up compared to the 1966 series and who might enjoy the film.

    There is also a spoiler filled review beginning at the 9 minute and 45 second mark. Here, they talk about plot specifics and their favorite parts of the film. Be sure to pause or stop the podcast by that part if you don't want to be spoiled. Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders is being released today, October 11, 2016 on digital devices and November 1st for blu-ray and dvd.

  • Justice League film BTS and more news!
    We've got a whole slew of news to get to in today's episode, so let's dive right in. Justice League movie director Zack Snyder tweeted out a behind-the-scenes sizzle reel/featurette. It was done to commemorate the wrapping of London filming. Certain cast and crew have limited filming yet to do in Iceland. The video shows the cast having fun, working out, and also gives glimpses of Superman, Amazonians, the Batcave, a potential Joker tease, and more.

    Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice blu-ray and DVD sales are going well. According to the-numbers.com, the film was in the top 10 of both units sold and gross sales numbers after just 2 weeks.

    According to Deadline, Sony Pictures is making a film about Wonder Woman creator Dr. William Moulton Marston titled Professor Marston & The Wonder Women. The film will cover the creation of Wonder Woman as well as Marston's polyamorous relationship with his wife, Elizabeth, and Olive Byrne. Hulu is also making a documentary about Batman co-creator Bill Finger titled Batman and Bill.

    Actor Marc McClure may appear in Justice League, according to Superman Homepage. McClure is also set to have a recurring role in NBC's upcoming Powerless TV series.

    Krypton is set to begin production today, according to Georgina Campbell's Twitter page. Tom and Zac discuss whether they actually think this series is supposed to be part of the DCEU.

    Adam West's Batman and Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman will finally meet! Well, in comic book form anyway. DC Comics announced a crossover event for Batman '66 and Wonder Woman '77, set to debut in January.

    There is plenty of DC movie and TV news to catch up on. New details of the Suicide Squad extended cut have been released, featuring 13 minutes of new footage. We talk about why the movie is unrated and what the extended cut means. We also discuss Chris Pine's role as Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman and discuss whether he will be back in future DC films.

    In DC animated movie news, a sequel to Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders has been announced. The film comes out in 2017 and will feature William Shatner as Harvey Dent/Two-Face. Shatner called the film Batman vs. Two-Face in this announcement Instagram post that was released at New York Comic Con.

    According to filmratings.com, the early 2017 Justice League Dark animated film will be rated R. We discuss why DC might have went for this rating and what it could potentially mean for director Doug Liman's Dark Universe film.

    Batwoman is going to get a new ongoing comic book series with DC, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The comics will feature the Kate Kane version of the character and will be written by Marguerite Bennett with art by Steve Epting. There will be a Rebirth one-shot in February, followed by an ongoing series in March.

  • Review – Batman: The Movie (1966)
    Holy flashback, Batman! 50 years after its debut, Tom and Zac review Batman: The Movie, the 1966 feature film based on the TV series. The Penguin, Joker, Catwoman, and the Riddler all team up to bring down the dynamic duo of Batman and Robin.

    This movie may come from a different era, but it is still a blast to watch if you know what you are getting into. The hosts discuss their favorite and most hilarious parts of the film and try to discuss what they think the plot was.

    They also discuss what they expect from the upcoming Batman: Return of The Caped Crusaders animated film featuring Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar, which debuts Monday, October 10.

  • Suicide Squad Extended Cut announced!
    A Suicide Squad extended cut was announced today on the film's official Twitter page. They released a teaser trailer which showed new footage of Jared Leto's Joker and Margot Robbie's Dr. Harleen Quinzel. It appears that we may see more of the origin of Harley Quinn in the extended edition.

    On today's show, Tom and Zac discuss what they hope to see from the extended cut of Suicide Squad. Will we see a more abusive Joker and will this lead to a tonal shift in the film?

    In other news, the WildStorm imprint is being revived by DC Comics. Warren Ellis will be leading the revival, according to comicbook.com. Wildstorm was founded by Jim Lee in 1992 and sold to DC Comics in 1998. The characters have been used sparingly since the New 52. The Wild Storm, Michael Cray, WildC.A.T.s., and Zealot will be among the initial titles released, beginning in February of 2017.

  • Justice League filming update and Krypton Casting News
    Zack Snyder's Justice League film has officially wrapped filming at their London studio. They had a wrap party this past weekend. Filming is not entirely finished, though, as they are now moving to a more remote location, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

    Newcomer Cameron Cuffe has officially been cast as Jor-El's father (and Kal-El's grandfather) in Syfy's Krypton TV series. Cuffe will play the lead role in the series, according to Variety. Tom and Zac discuss what they expect to see in the Superman prequel series on today's show.

    In other news, The Flash Season 3 debuts tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on The CW. Vixen will be premiering on October 13 on The CW Seed.

  • The Batman news and speculation
    Ben Affleck is out doing press for the debut of his new film The Accountant and has been asked plenty about his role as Batman. In interview, Affleck has confirmed the working title of his film to be The Batman and confirmed that J.K. Simmons will reprise his Justice League role as Commissioner Gordon.

    Affleck also gave his thoughts on the critical reception to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and why he decide to choose Joe Manganiello's Deathstroke to be the primary villain in his solo film. After that, the show hosts talk about what they hope and expect to see in the film, including what other villains and heroes could possibly show up.
