This will be a special episode as it was recorded while I (Roland) was visiting friends down south. With me is my fiancée Elin, and my friends Klas and Thomas. The discussion get both intense and silly, hopefully to your enjoyment.

The quality isn't the best, but I hope you'll forgive me.

Dead Red Herring Podcast - Episode 32

For some reason being a content creator today can be a tricky business. Because no matter what you do, somehow it could be deemed controversial or offensive to someone. At the same time, free speech is becomin less and less so. To discuss these topics we bring in backup from down under, in the form of FairDinkum Dave, whom we invite at taking a whack at some of the fine breeds in the dead horse stable. Expect edgy and offensive humor as we throw ourselves once more unto the breach.

Dead Red Herring Podcast - Episode 31

We are nerds (if that wasn't clear already) and since we are masters of creation, we will be discussing our own creations. Both of us have game projects, one is a superhero game and the other is a bit more complex with merging of different "punk" genres related in some way to steampunk. Other than the main topic we cover some smaller happenings like the critic against the Sonic movie design and the rumor of tumbler being bought by Pornhub.

Sometimes you just need to have a random conversation and that is exactly what we did. We cover topics like initial reactions to Avengers: Endgame, why we have a problem with the name "Bögenhafen" in Warhammer and difficulty levels in games. But not only that, there's a review on the open world RPG "Outward" and we end on what happens when you shoot a badger with a big caliber.

Dead Red Herring Podcast - Episode 29

There are a lot of weird, scary and menacing things in science fiction. So to keep with our previous talks about monsters, we go at it again. We'll be covering a lot of ground, going from aliens to rogue A.I. via sidetracks in to, among other things, the philosophy of Robert Heinlein in Starship Troopers.

We have also seen the new Hellboy movie and thought we might give a review and a more in-depth discussion. The review part is spoiler free and we will give warning before diving in, so you don't have to worry if you don't want to know too much.

Games as a service or G.A.S. seem to be the main goal of the big game publishers. With services like Google Stadia and other on-demand services aim to move all games to the cloud and cut physical copies, meaning that you will need a constant and fast internet connection. But what will this mean for gamers in the end and what about game preservation?

Give it a listen and tell us what you think!

Will Article 13 be the end of the free internet for those within the European Union? We don't know yet but the future looks grim. The title may be all in jest but it carries with it a serious nature. Because we don't know what will fall under the ban hammer of the content filters, we might have to brace ourselves for the worst.

We have a discussion and share our thoughts on the matter. We also have a small history lesson, talking about the last farmers uprising in Sweden, The Klågerups riots (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kl%C3%A5gerup_riots) and the demonstration that ended military intervention in civilian cases, Skotten i Ådalen or the Ådalen shootings (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%85dalen_shootings). In the episode I say that only two people were killed, however the real number was five. Sorry about that.

The Epic Games Store has made quite the stir in the PC gaming community with their exclusivity deals for developers and publishers. The battle of the platforms has begun as Steam now have a real competitor. But what does that mean for the gamers? Also, now Disney has officially acquired FOX, cementing it's place as the largest entertainment company in the world. But what will this mean for future movies of IP's under the mouse? Will we still see R-rated movies like Deadpool or will everything be made family friendly?

We have a discussion and share our thoughts on the matter.

Dead Red Herring Podcast - Episode 24

Demons have for a long time been a source of horror and pain for people. Still to this day, demons are still commonplace in our language, expressions and culture. Even if we today have a more sensible way of looking at the demon, the idea of a malicious supernatural being is just as strong as ever. We see this in pop culture such as games, movies, comics and TV. Therefor we are going to have a long talk about the subject, with a bit of history and where we find them today.

This will be the third part in our discussion on modern iconic monsters. It's a mixed bag of content, so we hope that there will be something to tickle your fancy.

Give it a listen and tell us what you think about it.
