Overdose deaths in Michigan decreased last year by nearly 6%, with 2,826 deaths recorded compared to 2,998 deaths in 2022, according to state data. Dearborn Health Department Director Ali Abazeed says the prevalence of overdose-reversing medication like naloxone has played a big role in those reductions. Plus, the National Poll on Healthy Aging released a new study that found grandkids help improve grandparents' mental health and reduce loneliness.
