I would like to think of myself as a very positive person... at least that’s what everyone tells me. But sometimes I wonder if this is almost to a fault.
In this solo episode, I dive right into yes....toxic positivity. I feel like it is running rampant, especially with the pandemic and just life in general sometimes it is hard to cope. What better way to tackle this topic with your everyday average person, your everyday average Jess.
I remember the first time I heard the term toxic positivity . Well technically saw it, and I thought it was an oxymoron.
I remember thinking to myself
How can being positive be negative?
How can it be counterproductive?
What is toxic positivity?
What are some examples?
How does it impact our relationship with ourselves and others?
I get into all of this and more!

Surprise episode with yours truly!
Social media filters smooth your face out, get rid of blemishes, make your lips bigger, give you perfect eyelashes, hide features you aren’t too proud of (definitely my nose) and alter the angles of your face.
But at what expense?
In this episode, I dive into the unattainable standards of filters, and the impact they have on our mental health.
Subliminally with all the images we see throughout the day, are we going to think these filtered images are real and attainable?
What are some root causes for using a filter?
How does it impact our self-esteem?
What are some tips to limiting the impact of filters on our mental health and self-esteem?
I get into all of this and more!
