Part1. (Called and named by God). In this new subject we will be looking at a mystery of God and that is His election of a Nation, that Nation is Israel.

In Psalm 80 (written by Asaph) we read a testimony not only of a man but also of a nation. Three time in this Psalm the phrase “restore us” appears, it means to bring us back to a place where once we were, that should be the prayer of every Bible believing Christian to pray for Israel that she would be restored back to God’s plan for the Nation.

Part5. (Abandonment) Having looked at the unity and acceptance and security that should be in the Body of Christ. In this episode we counter balance this by delving into Romans 16:17-18 where Paul warns Christians to be watchful regarding those that are divisive and teach erroneous doctrine that alienates from true fellowship with brothers and sisters, then ultimately with God.

Paul speaks of these things also to the Churches of Galatia and Corinth. In the short letter to Philemon, Paul practically demonstrates how even a wayward abandoned slave can find restoration in Christ through repentance.

Part4. (Abandonment) Moving on from Jesus’ comforting and securing statement “ … I am with you always even to the end of the age ..” we look into the security that Jesus intends to be in the Body of Christ.

The new commandment that He gave to His disciples was that they should love one another just as He (Christ) loved them. This hallmark of love that Jesus wants to be in His Church can only be achieved by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in every believer.

Part3. (Abandonment) The redemption we have in Christ is powerful! Even if we have lived a torrid life, He  is able to cleanse and restore us. We see this in the book of 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 and also verses 18-20 where Paul reminds the Corinthians of their former life how they were bought by the blood of Christ and not cast out and abandoned.

In the upper room discourse (John 14) Jesus himself said to His disciples “… I will not leave you nor forsake you or leave you as orphans” Let’s look further into the remarkable ways God draws us, that we may know that God himself will never abandon us.

Part2. (Abandonment) 

Continuing the theme of abandonment we look into a well know narrative in John chapter 4 and beginning at verse 4, where Jesus travelling through Samaria and stopping for a rest by a well, strikes up a conversation with a woman who knows repeatedly what it is, to be abandoned. 

Part1. (Abandonment) In the next few episodes we will be discussing the subject of abandonment which seems to be an increasing problem in our world.

Vows that are broken, spouses and children that are hurt, it’s a difficult thing to escape the feelings of loss.

Throughout the Bible, even from the earliest chapters there

In the book of 2 Samuel chapters 11-12 we will look at a string of events in David’s life which lead him to abandon so much that was good in his life and despite all the tragedies God was able redeem situation.

(Casting down with aggressive faith) So often we get caught up with our failures. In this episode we look at David who was described as “a man after God’s heart” and he too had many failings but his saving virtue was his humility before God. In Psalm 51 we see David’s response to his sin and failure when confronted by Nathan the prophet. We’ll examine keys to overcoming the temptation to give up when we fail.

Part4. (My Vineyard) In this final part we turn again to the book of Isaiah 5 and verses 5 - 7. These few verses are an overview of the “driftings” in Israel’s history from the time of Isaiah, right though to the present day. In these three verses we can hear the ache and lament of God for His wayward people … “for My vineyard”
