A solo podcast where I talk about advice given to me by successful shed hunters and ensuring your scouting ties in with your fall hunting plan. A shorter podcast this week, but wanted to get a couple thoughts out there to make sure you aren't wasting your time scouting for times you won't be hunting. Hope it helps!
Alex and I talk the importance of spring scouting, what to look for, and how to use the information you find to be more successful this fall. We recount 1 of Alex's bucks from last year where he scouting an area for 1 day, marked a great location he like, and then came back and killed a great buck on his first sit in that area on October 20th. Hope it helps all! - @deer_development - Alex Skelly
Brenden enjoys working on bows and upgrading and changin the components to his bow. With so many options out there, we talk about price points, features, benefits, and needs vs wants on different components to your bow including your rest, sight, stabilizer(s), quiver, and release. Hope you all enjoy! @Brenden.graff
Chris and I talk about balancing family and work with the hunting life and strategizing how to negotiate more time in the field or at least the "right" time in the field. You may only have 16 days to hunt in a season so make those few days count and set your life and work up to allow you to do that. We also discuss a bit about our 2021 seasons and how we can reflect on those to bring success in the 2022 season. Hope ya'll enjoy! @trail_red
Hunter is an aspiring professional archer and for him that means winning tournaments. He has been in many tournaments, won some national titles in college, but is still searching for that win in the tournament archery circuit. We talk about tournament archery and how the circuit works for indoor, outdoor, the rules, gear, and of course the mindset and how most of as bowhunters can transfer that to the woods. Hope you all enjoy this one! @bowlife_hogan
Johnny recaps his season and talks about 2 bucks that he tracked on opener of gun in PA eventually killing a great 130" 8 point. Tracking is one of those elusive skills that only comes with experience but hopefully this podcast gives you a jump start on that experience curve. @thejohnnystewart for more info and questions! Thanks for listening!
I share how I drastically reduced my anxiety and stress while being more "successful" in life by taking on more personal responsibility for my health, financials, and hunting. This is a very different podcast from my typical how to deer hunting podcasts, but I hope it helps some of you to evolve your life in 2022.
Curt is the co-owner of Working Class Bowhunter. They have over 500 episodes out and dozens of giant bucks on the ground but still are not "full time" hunters. This year Curt is finally able to make that leap to Hunting for a living, so we discuss what it took to get him there, the years, the time, the relationships, and how others can find their way there as well if it's a goal they have. We also run through the story of Curt's October 2021 buck to bring in some successful hunt dissection and education. Hope ya'll enjoy!
Prep for 2022 starts now - Jake and I talk Buck Beds, Scrapes, and misleading deer sign you can find in the winter/spring when scouting and how to keep an eye out for it. Jake has killed multiple big bucks right out of their beds in early season and as you listen to the podcast you'll hear how detailed Jake gets and why he is so effective at finding these bucks in the early season. Hope ya'll enjoy!
Matt Spets runs DeerNerd - a whitetail consulting agency and we chat about the Rona, buying vs leasing vs public, key ingredients to picking a property to focus on, Hunting Styles - manipulated vs natural landscapes, and lessons we both learned from 2021. Apologize for the coughs in this one, Matt was about 3 weeks into the Rona and just couldn't kick the cough and Grandpa's Cough Syrup just wasn't doing the trick.
