I just uploaded this video to my YouTube channel "Depression Talks" titled "I don't like talking about this...". It's hard for me to talk during moments like this. I feel numb, empty, and trapped... like I'm in a dense fog not knowing my way out. I hope my "letting it out" helps you in some way. I don't know how, but I just hope it does. Depression and anxiety are real, and I'm not afraid to tell the world that.
My short answer, nothing. There is nothing wrong with being weird, awkward, or different. I didn't always feel this way. I actually struggled the majority of my life feeling like I was not good enough because I was weird. Every time I didn't fit in and was made fun of for being myself, my confidence, self-esteem, and mentality lowered dramatically. It felt impossible to love the person I looked at in the mirror.
Now, I embrace my weirdness! I love how different I am from others. I don't mind being called weird or different because that makes me unique in my own way. I have no desire to be like anyone else. I'd rather be myself. In life, that's all I can be. Me.
If you are someone that feels like an outcast, you are not alone. Embrace what makes you different. Embrace being "weird". You are more than enough already being actual who you are.

What is your definition of happiness? How would you choose to define it? In this episode, I share my thoughts and perspective on the word 'happiness', and how to feel it a little more every day. If you are someone that wants to increase your amount of daily "happy minutes" and hear a deeper insight into the feeling of happiness, this episode is for you. Keep on taking action towards better understanding your own thoughts and emotions (one of my suggestions is to set a time for 5 minutes and journal at least once a day). If you don't know where to begin, start by writing down your own definition of happiness. I'm rooting for you DT Nation! You are not alone.

The question, "Why should I keep going in life?", comes to my mind on a daily basis. I do literally mean 'daily'. No matter how far I go in success, relationships, finances, or even personal development, this question still pops up in my head every single day. It wasn't until recently I learned that I'm completely okay with that. In this episode, I do my best to motivate you, and myself, to keep going. To not give up on ourselves and life. I am feeling depressed right now and a little hopeless, but I have given up on my life before, and I refuse to let that be an option! We must keep pushing forward. I hope you find this episode helpful, especially if you are feeling alone and depressed right now. You are not alone. I'm rooting for you to get through this. You got this.

There is still such a huge stigma behind a man crying or being "too emotional". This leads to the majority of men not knowing how to understand their own emotions or the emotions of the people around them. As an emotional and empathetic man, I find it sad to see other men being called "weak" or "too feminine" for expressing how they feel. I know I may be seen as weak or unorthodox for speaking upon this unpopular opinion, but I stand by it firmly. As a human being, you are allowed to express ALL emotions there are. Simple as that. If you want to join a group that openly talks about mental health, self-esteem, and even sadness without the emotional social norms, join the private DT Nation Facebook group. The pressure to feel like you have to be happy in life is real. In short words, you don't always have to feel happy in every single moment and second. There are times where we will feel down. That's okay. But, it's during those moments you have to dig deep and the real work begins. Do you journal when you're feeling low? Or go for a walk? These small changes add up and make a big difference over time. I really open up in this episode, and I hope that it shows you that you are not alone when it comes to this thing called life. We got this! If you would like to join the private DT Nation Facebook group and share some of your mental breakthroughs, art, music, or tips, go to Facebook and type in "DT Nation". Keep pushing forward!
The title of this episode says it all! I believe there is a perception the world has of people who deal with having a mental illness. For me, that's a problem! Please know you are not weak for having a mental illness, going to therapy, seeing a psychiatrist, etc. You are learning how to better manage and take care of your mental health one day at a time. That doesn't make you weak. That makes you a 'Mental Health Warrior', someone choosing to continue to fight their own mental battles despite their mental obstacles. That's not weak, that's inspiring. Keep pushing forward. Keep breaking those mental barriers. You got this. If you would like to join the private 'DT Nation Facebook Group' to join other people that openly talk about their mental health and how they continue to push through, go to Facebook and type in, "DT Nation".
"I can be happy too! Happiness is not a destination. It's a moment in time, a mindset, and something we always strive to hold onto." These are words I share at the end of this episode, and I stand firm by them. I want you to know that happiness in life is possible, and the only thing it takes is hard work. That sounds oversimplified, but it's not. Happiness in life does not come by accident, it happens on purpose. I'm rooting for you. Depression and anxiety DOES NOT have to hold you back from living your best life right now. If you would like to join the private DT Nation Facebook group, go to Facebook and type in "DT Nation" to join an awesome loving group of people that openly talk about mental health.
Learning how to love yourself is essential in life. I truly believe that. I couldn't say that 2 months ago when I recorded my last episode. DT Nation, please know that you are not alone. When it comes to dealing with depression, anxiety, sadness, hopelessness, and even loneliness, you are NOT alone. I am rooting for you. I mean that. It's a daily fight to learn how to better manage your physical health, mental health, emotional health, and spiritual health. It can even feel exhausting. But I promise you the fight is worth it. Keep pushing forward. You got this DT Nation!
It was painful for me to shoot this episode. It physically hurt.
Right now I am feeling depressed. I haven't been able to record an episode in a longer period of time than I would like because of it. It's hard to formulate concepts, and thoughts, or even share how I'm feeling because I'd just rather not talk and bottle things up.
Listen, to me, this sounds backward, but please let me know if it's not.
I am going to keep pushing forward one moment at a time. I know I will get through this. I won't quit and I will keep going. "It's better to crawl forward than it is to lay down." - Immanuel
