Friends. Family. Everyone listening and reading these show notes. Happy ALMOST Thanksgiving!! We hope you’re on your way home or taking some time for yourselves in the midst of the holiday craziness.
For this week’s SOLO episode, we’re keeping it real and (brutally) open and honest…talking about major life transitions. You all know that Beck recently moved to LA and is navigating a new city and routine. Meg also has moved cities in the past, so we chat through how tough a major move can be! A move can completely throw off your routine, so we give some tips on what we’ve done in the past to stay sane while transitioning.
We also get into some different topics like maternity leave, morning and evening routines, and how to make friends.
We hope that you can relate to this episode! We’d love to talk about it more with you guys, so reach out!

Founder Caroline Rasmussen's journey to creating Antara is truly inspiring; after her father's heartbreaking diagnosis of early-onset dementia and Parkinson’s, she was moved to quit her toxic Wall Street job and revisit her journey. After relying for years on cigarettes, coffee, and other crutches to get through a cloud of anxiety and fatigue, Caroline set out to do everything she could to maintain her brain and cognitive function for the long term. This lead to her training in herbal medicine and meditation, and she later began to delve into the science of neurological health and degeneration.
Eliza Shirazi is the Creator and Founder of the award-winning kickboxing and music inspired fitness brand, Kick It By Eliza®. This method was born out of Eliza's passion for dance, fitness, and community while she attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst, studying Public Health and Health Sciences and Communication. After graduating in 2013, Eliza became a New Balance sponsored athlete and awarded Best in Boston by several publications.
Her mission is to EMPOWER and inspire the women in her classes. Her energy and positivity is palpable whenever she comes into the room and we are beyond pumped we were able to sit down for a conversation with her!
We talk about…
- Her story of creating her amazing workout classes and realizing that she needed to go after her dreams;
- Being an entrepreneur and the tougher sides of it;
- The power of social media;
- Her goals for the future and moving forward with her business.

You all know that the reason WHY we’re even doing this podcast in the first place is our passion for wellness. Beck and I bonded when we were struggling with some similar issues and turned to the wellness world to try and work through them. It’s been a space of primarily positivity and support and we love being a part of it.
That being said, over the past couple of years, we’ve also had many conversations about some of the downsides and issues with the wellness industry.
We think it’s really important to always be super transparent and honest about where we’re coming from, and we know that you all likely have some of the same thoughts and concerns that we do. We’re excited for you to take a listen to this episode and hear where we’re coming from!
We always want to talk about the themes in our episodes, but we are DYING to discuss this episode in particular with you in our Facebook group. Head to www.detoxandchillpodcast.com/join to join us!

Brass Clothing is one of our favorite Boston-based clothing brands and today we have Katie Demo on the podcast!
Brass Clothing was founded 3.5 years ago, when Katie and her co-founder Jay Adams were frustrated with their wardrobes. Years of shopping sales and fast fashion left them with closets full of clothes that never fit quite right or felt like good quality.
They knew they needed better options, and they set out to provide women with higher quality clothing with a more reasonable price tag.
They didn’t know it at the time, but they would spend the next 3.5 years talking to women about their wardrobes and the impact they have on our lives.
In this episode we talk about…
-Working a full time job while also nurturing your side hustle;
-Building trust in your team to manage the business and take steps back;
-Sustainability and the difference between Brass and fast fashion brands;
-The ups and downs of entrepreneurship.
We know you’ll love this episode just as much as we do. We’d love to continue the conversation with you on our secret Facebook page, so head to www.detoxandchillpodcast.com/join to join us!

WE ARE SO PUMPED for this week’s episode!
If you’re like us (well, Meg specifically), you struggle to find a post-workout drink that provides some protein for recovery, but isn’t hard on your stomach. Enter: Après - a post-workout bev that we can truly get behind.
This week, we have the founder, Darby Jackson on the podcast. Well before Après was founded, Darby was diagnosed with celiac disease which inspired her to become an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and personal trainer, combining her passion for nourishing food with her background in sports. Through her work with women in her coaching business, she began to notice that there wasn’t a post-workout drink that she would actually recommend to her clients.
Enter: Après. Founded by Darby and her partner Sonny, Après is recovery drink with plant protein, coconut oil, and coconut water. In this episode, we talk to Darby about…
- How she became interested in wellness after transitioning from playing water polo and started her coaching business;
- How she recognized a need in the industry for a recovery drink like Après;
- The MANY rounds of product sampling that her and her cofounder, Sonny, went through to arrive at the final blend;
- Her morning routine and how it sets the tone for her day
