Detroit Police gearing up for a big month of downtown sports events, starting with the Sweet 16 then the NFL Draft. WWJ's Charlie Langton has more.

Detroit is on the clock. There are only 30 days remaining until the NFL Draft brings 100,000s of football fans to the city. The draft will be free and open to fans in the downtown area surrounding Campus Martius Park and Hart Plaza.

The state of Michigan is forgiving more than $3 million remaining on a taxpayer-funded loan from the 2014 construction Detroit's Q-Line. The remaining $3.5 million on the $10 million loan is being forgiven in exchange for the state being able to freely advertise on the side of the street car.

A man who allegedly stabbed a pregnant woman, killing her and her unborn child, could be charged today. WWJ's Charlie Langton has the details.
The man's house exploded round 10 p.m. Sunday night, while he was in his kitchen making the fireworks. The Detroit News obtained federal filings today that say 27-year-old Rashad Trice has decided to plead guilty to 'kidnapping resulting in death', a felony that could land him in prison for life.
