Devils Puck Luck Podcast

This is on the list of offseason fears for Devils fans - Tomas Tatar, veteran NHL Wing, rumored to possibly join the Pittsburgh Penguins. Having already discussed how DPL things the Penguins have a bounce-back year, adding Tatar would certainly sting the fan base. Making the pain all but disappear however, could be as simple as Alexander Holtz meeting expectations to start the upcoming season.

The 21 year old is plugged in on the third line and can finally convert his AHL stats into NHL success. The guys discuss his role, how Lindy Ruff will approach his development, and if Holtz could well be both starter and trade fodder all at the same time.

Adam and Danny also close out the show discussing the early schedule for New Jersey, and why Alexander Holtz could be afforded a longer leash, with(on paper) an easy opening slate.

The guys welcome in Jimmy Fanizzi, host of "From the Blue Seats" to discuss the somewhat different directions the Devils and Rangers franchises are heading.

Make no mistake, the New York Rangers are still very much focused on deep playoff runs and a Stanley Cup, but when the young New Jersey Devils took them out in the first round of last years NHL playoffs - it did seem to be a clear shift.

Adam, Danny and Jimmy look at what went wrong(for New York) and how their offseason stacks up to the Devils.

It is a fun Network crossover that ends with the classic "If Not Hockey, What?"

The Metro Division is poised to be a battle ground in the upcoming season. Adam and Danny look at the division from the ground up and how some veteran squads will stack up.

Both agree that the Penguins are an older, but still talented roster. Can they shake up the hierarchy with the Islanders and Rangers and can the Devils take over the crown from the Carolina Hurricanes?

Hosts Adam Armbrecht and Danny McDonough put the New Jersey Devils depth to the ultimate test - a head to head host battle to construct a dominant Devils roster.

The guys go pick for pick, with Jack Hughes the crown jewel but plenty of talent on the offensive and defensive fronts. Adam spends the early rounds focused on Defensive youth and experience, while Danny looks for firepower on the wings.

There is great debate around the Goalie value, underhanded mind games and cunning strategies throughout! Ultimately it is the perfect display of just how deep this New Jersey Devils roster is.

Luke Hughes got a small taste of the NHL in a big way, joining the post-season roster for New Jersey this past year. Than has Adam already setting a high bar for the young Defenseman, who he believes can be a 60 point scorer in his first full season. This leads to a natural discussion of pairings for the Devils on Defense, expectations for Dougie Hamilton and the balance this team will need to find given the influx of offensive talent.

Danny believes Timo Meier is ready to expand his value in his first full season with New Jersey and on a newly minted contract. Despite an understandably tentative integration, there are a few key stats that suggest Timo Time is about to strike in a big way.

Kevin Bahl had his ups and downs across the 2022-23 season for the New Jersey Devils, but as is the case with many young players, he sees it as the growth process early in his career. The 2year deal $1.05AAV represents another smart contract from GM Tom Fitzgerald who continues to strike the right balance of retaining youthful pieces while folding in new key veterans.

Adam and Danny breakdown what they want to see more of from the 23-year old Defenseman, and how the pairings could shift in the upcoming season as Luke Hughes joins the full time rotation.
