The author of Esther uses a genius literary tactic by not making a single mention of God in the entire book! It heightens our awareness of God's activity behind the scenes as many "coincidences," "reversals," and "fortunate moments" build the story of Esther, Mordecai, and the Jews. Often we live our lives and think that God is asleep or not at work in or around us. Esther reminds us that God is always at work to accomplish his good purposes for his glory. Look for God at work and join him by acting with courage.
