Last week we discovered when we dedicate our bodies to God, avoid being conformed to this world, and strive to be transformed by the Word of God, we will discover God’s perfect will for our life. This dedication process, written by Paul in Romans 12:1-2, is the foundation of a committed life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Today, I want to share with you five steps of commitment. Commitment…scary word for some of you. However, if you are a leader in your field or a business owner, you know the value of commitment. You have a product or service that people are depending on. So hang on, do not fear, because this is God that wants our commitment. He is the creator of the universe, the One who created you and me. His ways are higher than our ways. And He is always committed to You. The first step to commit to Him is:
1. Your salvation – 2 Timothy 1:12, “For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless, I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.”
2. Your works – The scripture that brought us to this point - Proverbs 16:3, “Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.”
3. Your goals in life – Psalm 37:5 “Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.”
4. Your suffering experiences– 1 Peter 4:19, “Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.”
5. Your very soul in your hour of death– Psalm 31:5, “Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.”
