Four incredibly long weeks ago we set out on a journey....a journey to Sleepaway Camp.

Now, we've finally reached the end of our journey, coming full circle with the 2008 release from series creator Robert Hiltzik in "Return to Sleepaway Camp"

David has already gone on record (listen to episodes 14-17) as saying he hates this movie....but did this second viewing change his opinion? Did Jamie hate it as much as David?

Did the hosts inadvertently murder each other through the Internet over a bad "Sleepaway Camp" sequel?

Welcome back ladies and gents for episode 17 of Devour the Podcast.

This week, we’re getting ever closer to the end of our Sleepaway Camp retrospective with the “Lost” sequel Sleepaway Camp IV: The Survivor and we once again change up our ratings system, this time abandoning the 0-10 scale for Our Feature Presentation and replacing it with a simpler scale:

 Avoid It!

Here we go ladies and gents, episode 14 of Devour the Podcast!

This week we begin our retrospective of the Sleepaway Camp franchise with the initial entry in the series and a lengthy discussion and dissection of the film.

(Spoiler Timestamp: Sleepaway Camp Spoilers start at 1 hour 14 minutes  and end at 1 hour  50 minutes)

And if that’s not enough for you, we’ve got a review of the found footage ghost film Grave Encounters, a hearty chunk of news as well as the usual shenanigans from David and Jamie (and believe me, you’ll hear Shenanigans quite a bit in this episode)

Finally a great big THANK YOU to all of you wonderful listeners who commented on last week’s episode and to our fellow Horror Palace hosts for the warm welcome.

If you have any comments about the Sleepaway Camp franchise or about the show in general, email us and make sure to include either the episode number (of the episode you are responding to) or title in the subject line of your email just in case your email gets flagged as spam (Gmail is wonky that way)

This show contains NO SPOILERS (It’ll make sense later)
Here we go once again with Devour the Podcast episode 13, our first show on our new home of
-REDACTED-

You would think that for our inaugural show on a brand new network we would be bringing you the very best we could possibly produce right?

That was the plan......but then the Elder Gods intervened.........

So if you were expecting a deep, thoughtful reflection on the genre, this isn’t that episode, as the power of Cthulhu warped our tiny minds and forced us to try and usher in the Elder Gods once more!

This is a long one folks.  Along with our typical news, we spend a bit of time plugging some sites you should check out, chat about how to properly critique things on the internet (here’s a hint: “IT SUCKS” isn’t it) and make a big announcement!

In our It Came from the Instant Queue this week David and Jamie disagree on House of Fears and for Our Feature Presentation we tackle the 1980 flawed classic, Maniac.

MAJOR NEWS!

Starting next week with Episode 13 the show will no longer be available through this feed.  Devour the Podcast has joined the www.Horrorpalace.com podcast network, and will be a available through the new feed (Check back on www.Devourtheblog.wordpress.com or www.devourthepodcast.blogspot.com next week for the new feed link)
