5 ways to comfort the hurting.
We all want to help the people we love the most. Feeling sorry for someone and trying to cheer them up sometimes makes that person become more upset, annoyed, or angry with us. It’s not what we intend to do but how we do it that makes the difference.
If our timing is off or we choose the wrong tactic, the outcome of our attempt to help can be the polar opposite of our intent; the person we are trying to comfort may perceive our words and behaviors as insensitive.
Here are 5 tips to help others when we know they are hurting:
1. Be There
2. Listen
3. Keep your opinion to yourself
4. Don't give advice
5. Stay Positive

Every one of us have a story to tell, our lives are so different than everyone around us. With our stories come the many different people that we have come in contact with through our lives.
With these relationships our earliest influence with our primary caretakers is what has shaped our brain more than anything else.
You don’t remember, yet your brain does and saw it all.
It’s time to stop making excuses for our caretakers and start to name what happened to you.

Gods plans are always best and in this episode Michael takes time to really show where God has taken he and his family on a new adventure. He shares where he has been and where God has planted he and his family.
Living life with open hands is always the best and most clear way to live.

When we can lean into being ok with being uncomfortable we start to grow and our mind starts to get stronger. You will see things that you have never noticed before and you will grow in ways you didn't know was possible.
For you what is it, where are you living in comfort? Where is a place in your life that you have gotten comfortable?

Elsa was so wrong when she sang "Let It Go" from frozen one.
Feelings dissipate on their own once we fully experience them.
The trick is to FULLY experience them.
That feeling has to move through you in order to be released. The only way out, is THROUGH.
This means that in order to let go of a feeling, you must first give it its proper place and to be with it.
In this episode we will discuss the issue with the idea of just letting go of our emotions to heal and the damage that can have on you and everyone around you.

There is a difference in intimacy and intensity.
Often those who are emotionally intense also had childhoods where they had to please the adults around them, and weren’t allowed to be themselves. This meeting of other’s needs carries into adulthood, making intimacy hard.
Intimacy shows that you are fully yourself around someone, even as you accept them as they are and create an environment they can be fully themselves. Key words here are acceptance, authenticity, and trust.

In this episode Michael talks about how racism is sin and shouldn’t be tolerated at all. No sin should ever be tolerated. Sin will take us down if we are not careful. We should address sin and shouldn’t stand for any sin and deal with it in love.
A great resource that has helped me is a message that Keith Garvin gave at Second Baptist Church Houston on this exact topic.
We then discuss how we need rest and how God asks us to keep the sabbath. Without this we will be tired, worn out, and exhausted. When we keep the sabbath we can love and live a life that God has planned for us, a life that can hear Him more.

The biggest part of my weight loss journey was leaning into the fact that it doesn’t all start in the kitchen, and that if we are wanting to get healthy then we must start to work hard on mental and emotional health which will ultimately lower our anxiety and stress and make it easier for our body to lower our cortisol levels so our body will stop hanging onto our stress.
I want to share 7 ways that we can start to lower our cortisol levels so that we can get on the path to being more physically healthy. When we can start to lower these levels we will see massive benefits in our life.
This is Part 2 of the series to show how I have continued to journey to a healthier version of myself.
