Our hearts are young
We are full of fun
We often meet
Have lots to eat.
Share each other’s joy
Share each other’s sorrows
Share our experiences
Share our grievances.
It is time to have fun
With responsibilities all done
Makes us feel so good
We are still not in the woods
We may be slow not so agile
But we always wear a beautiful smile.
We all have our little aches and pains
Some memory lapses and little weight gain.
Our spirits are high and we are bright
There is nothing we cannot fight
Our hearts are STILL very Young
And we are STILL full of fun.
I cannot image you are 50 today
I remember you as a baby, seems just yesterday
Time has flown by, but memories remain
Of the good times we had, driving parents insane.
I remember teaching you Marathi but alas
The words and pronunciation you could not grasp
You grew up to be a dutiful son
Cared for Mom – Dad, their hearts you won.
From heavens above, their blessings will they shower
Send all the love, now and forever
You have grown up now, earned a great name
But for me, you will always remain the same
My little kid brother – naughty and fun
Just as you were, when you turned one.
Lots of love darling
Happy 50th Birthday!
Happy Birthday I wish you today
Words from my heart that I’d like to convey
There are just a few things my heart needs to say
Wish you a beautiful life, with each passing day.
We shared happy moments and even some tears
I am really grateful for all those years
Like branches on a tree in different directions we may grow
But roots remain as one that we should know.
It is not just your birthday, it is clearly much more
We’ll celebrate you, who I truly adore
You care for everyone; don’t always show
You are not an extrovert - not many people know.
You are my brother and I am really glad
Both interesting and smart, allow me to add
Our love for each other; is not just for the world to see
You are a little piece of childhood that will always be with me.
Happy 60th Birthday Arshi
And one more sweet thought
You are my brother and I love you a lot.
This is a very special day in May
As fifty years ago we met today
Eighteen year old girl and twenty-one was the boy
Set eyes on each other a little hesitant and a bit shy.
It was our engagement day
Which probably means “We may”
The day was exciting and eventful
A new relationship that would be beautiful.
When he put the ring on my finger
Butterflies in my tummy, as I looked up in wonder.
He was calm, composed and smiling
Is this the man I will be marrying
Thousands of doubts did enter my mind
Not too strong then for faith in His design.
This period lasted a whole year
As I had to graduate and that was clear.
We were to be married following year in May
Till then roses and phone calls were there everyday.
A beautiful courtship period it was
Where telephone and airline bills just soared
As we look back today on this golden day
We say “Thank you God for your wonderful way”.
What would I not give to have you back
My childhood, my innocence, my carefree days
The little pranks with a twinkle in the eyes
The thrill of the first downpour, the shouts and cries
The little smack of the protective parents
The scolding and chiding for the mischief apparent.
Simple pleasures, fun filled laughter
Greatest tensions were teachers and masters
There was no worry about what is cooking
Only wish to know how one is looking
Which dress is good, what color is right
This is too bright and that a shade light.
The first love, the infatuations
The feeling of exhilaration
Dreams of youth and its aspirations
Life of parties and jubilations.
Those days were fleeting
Youth too is so deceiving
What we see now is old age peeping
Forever with us and slowly creeping.
A stand of grey hair near the temples
A little weight around the midriff
Gone are the lithe and lissome figures
Slender, agile and supple features.
This grey hair is now for keeps
Laugh now you may though your heart bleeds
Laughing lines are what we see
Yet laughing matter now it cannot be.
Gone are the days of deep slumber
Restless nights are what I remember
Could these days not be preserved forever also?
Oh! My childhood, my innocence, my carefree days
Where are you gone, I miss you so.
When you my three little grandsons came with me to stay
We had lots of fun and games to play
Full of smiles and all the rush
Endless questions and hair to brush
Lots of laughter, lots of games
Little pranks, funny names.
A day with grandkids restores the soul
Energizes the mind and body on the whole
It gives me immense pleasure when you all sit beside me
Hope as I get older you will sometimes keep me company
You know I love you all, more with each passing day
To spoil you is also showing you love my way.
Let me love you a little more
Before you are not little anymore
I used to hold your Dad; kiss and hug him too
The same way as today he does to you
He could not remain a baby; he had to grow up
So God created you beautiful grandkids to fill the great gap.
I treasure the special bond we have between us
The love we share and the secrets we discuss
How lonely my world would be without you
You will and should never have a clue
All I can say that to the moon and back
Is how much I love you.
Children of my child
Full of fun and little wild
Nostalgic to see my little son in you again
Memories of his childhood all then just begin
Your smiles bridge the years between us
Feel young again discovering the world through
your eyes as such.
I visualize the future in you
You will learn from me of the past
In the present let us love one another
As long as these times last.
There are times when some grandkids we cannot meet
Seeing them would then be a God-sent treat
Would long to give them all a loving hug
The one that feels so warm and snug
A prayer for all my grandkids will be on my lips always
Whether we meet or have to part ways.
I thank the good Lord for blessing my sons
With children for whom my love is in abundance
I pray you watch over and protect them day and night
Give them the courage to stand for what is right
Then when I am gone, here no more
Remind them my love for them is forever and ever more.
You are born out of me
Yet today not a part of me
What happened down the journey of life
Is beyond be; to understand I still strive
Thought I raised a fine young lad
Engrained good values and education that could be had.
Where did I fail I can’t comprehend
What I had in mind is not what I see of you in the end
What damage you are doing I wonder if you know
To yourself and the family who loved you so.
You are blinded by some people and cannot see beyond
Open your eyes to see what is going on
You are being enveloped by lies and hate
Those that feed these will meet their own fate.
I sometimes wonder if you are so ill
‘Cause no one can do this of their own free will
The damage you are doing is almost beyond repair
Hurting your parents too – is it really fair.
Wake up before, for you it is too late
Or then open your eyes to an empty plate
No one then may be there to hold your hand
Wipe your tear and pull you from the sinking sand.
I pray fervently to the Lord to make you see sense
And remove from your confused mind misconceptions so dense
God, please help him come out of the world of ego, lies and hate
So that disaster does not eventually become his fate.
Son, I may not live to see the realization dawn on you
But will still pray that God forgives you
In my dying moments too I will still hope and pray
That someday God shows you the light of the day!
It seems only yesterday
That you were a babe in my arms
My very special toy, a cute little bundle of joy
Oblivious to the world, gentle and mild
But today you are a grown up young man, my child.
Cries and wails, screams and fears
All still clearly ring in my ears
The tantrums you threw for things you could not find
Those and much more are still fresh in my mind.
The little pranks you played
The pleasure in the pain you gave
Sometimes those naughty impish smiles
Next the tempers went really wild
And today you are a grown-up young man, my child.
You have now come of age
So, your freedom we can no longer cage
Into the beautiful blue skies you would like to fly
Fearless and free, by the fates profiled
For today you are a grown-up young man, my child.
With pride and joy we will see
You take your first step to success
Your dreams fulfilled and doubts laid to rest
Son, it has been wonderful
Sharing your dreams and watching you grow.
Feeling such pride in your accomplishments and more
With zeal and zest, never to be beguiled
For today you are a grown-up young man, my child.
Today on this very special day
With love, I wish you and fervently pray
That all the things you hope for
And all the things you do
May very special happiness be waiting for you
May God always bless you and have you in his care
May he fulfill every wish and answer every prayer.
The beautiful memories of your childhood
I will always love and treasure
The joy of which is beyond any measure
To the world today you may be “grown-up”
Perhaps smart and even clever
But to me you will always be my “little child” forever.
Twenty-one years ago on this day
You came into this world my son
Bringing with you the joy and ecstasy
Which only parents are privileged to enjoy
With the arrival of their first bundle of joy.
Your birthday brings
So many sentimental thoughts
To mind-like what a pleasure it has been
To watch you grow into
The kind and thoughtful person you are.
There’s a special kind of beauty
Deep inside the heart of you
Because the precious love of God
Is such a part of you
The things you do and say
All show His kind and loving touch
That is why a son like you will always mean so much.
From the moment you were born
I felt such happiness in knowing
I had brought someone wonderful into this world
For this to dear God I am grateful beyond measure
To have been given the gift of this priceless jewel – such a treasure.
From adolescence to adulthood, you have progressed
With visions of the future and all that is best
Dreams and ambitions play now a great role
With zeal and enthusiasm you work for your goal.
You are now ready to unfold your wings
To fly into the beautiful blue skies
Our love would not bind you
Nor our needs hold you
For you live in the house of tomorrow.
You are the arrow that has to fly
May we be the bow that is stable
May we remain the strength you rely
Even when old, frail and feeble.
May God bless you, with everything he deems best
Honesty, Generosity, Success, Happiness and the rest
May you retain the child-like innocence
With freshness of dew-drops and the flowers’ fragrance.
Thinking of you lovingly
As this big day appears
Thinking too of all the joy
You have brought throughout the years
Hoping your most special dreams
Will one and all come true
And there will be lots of happiness
With all of God’s blessings over you.
Akele rehne se mat ghabrana
Yahi samay hai khud ko pehechanna
Antardhyan jub ho jaaoge
Apne aap ko tub hi paaoge
Kitni shanti kitna sukoon in raahon mein
Yeh tub hi toh jaan jaaoge.
Na koi khauf na fikra hoga
Bus usika har taraf zikra hoga
Duniya ki moh-maya se hut kar
Bahut kuch hai oos duniya ke andar
Is duniya mein bejhijhak chale aaow
Mushkilon se phir nijaad paaow.
Mehfooz ho chahe duniya saari
Nahi hogi sirf duniyadaari
Heere–moti ki hawas na hogi
Roti–paani se zindagi basar hogi
Bharenge hum bus uska dum
Chahe sub kahein humein malang.
Pyaar mohabbat beinteha bategi
Ek hi se bus taar judegi
Log chahe kahein deewana
Par ab kaheka pachtaana
Judh jaaye jub us se preet
Toh har taraf hai apni jeet.
Har saans usi ke naam se hogi
Usi ki tareef zuban pe hogi
Anhad naad goonjege yoohin
Har taraf bus tuhi tuhi.
