Dinner 4 Geeks

One thing I'll say about this episode, it is probably the most immediate of the 78 bazillion Force Awakens recaps out there. The Geeks (minus Ron; long story) travel a couple of hours to St. Augustine to catch the first show on The Force Awakens in IMAX 3D, and then immediately hit a restaurant to do what they do best--er, well--er, often, and that's voice boisterous opinions over meals.

NOTE: The background music is a bit louder than usual, as we were seated at a much larger table than usual (we all brought our families) and we were placed directly under a LOUD speaker.

Going through some older files the other day, I came across this episode that was never cleaned up and released. I finally figured out why: it conflicted with our one and only attempt at a Final 4 Geeks contest. However, once I opened it and began to work on it, I found it to be the dirtiest, filthiest, nastiest episode we've ever recorded. We ate while we recorded it. You might not want to while you listen!

It's Dinner 2 Geeks again, as Jeff and Ryan are unavailable and Ron and Scott refuse to let the show go away! Scott talks about a new theme song for his talk show and others' reactions. A little tiny Force Friday recap sort of makes its way into the discussion. They then bemoan modern-day workplace woes. Ron has raves about the new Shout Factory internet channel. Scott has to give Ron some Episode I explanations. Some of them...are better than others...

Ryan is featured in the latest Target Share the Force ad! No, we're not kidding! Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOv3Qi7Vr5g He's the kid holding the Greedo!

The Geeks also get into a conversation about Jeff's preparations to pop the question and about his ring.

Believe it or not , the Geeks have been having their regular dinners and recording them. They just haven't been putting them out lately. This one being on the eve of Force Friday, we decided to put it out there. It also addresses the story of Disney's deeming Age of Ultron a "failure." PLus we talk about the passing of Wes Craven, and there's a HECK of a lot more. Just listen up. It's a heck of a lot of fun!

This one was almost called Dinner 2 Geeks, but the theme of women was so rampant throughout the episode, we had no choice. Jeff is away on a camping trip and Ryan got stuck at work, so Ron and Scott have a good old-fashioned, no-holds-barred sit down. THey disagree on Jurassic World, they talk Doctor Who, and then Ron drops the bombshell: his theory on the subtext of Jurassic World!

This episode of D4G finds us having a leisurely dinner at the end of a long week. Jeff is out, as he has found himself often this summer, but the three of us have a pleasant discussion about older comics.

Then! AS we're about to wrap up, Ron drops a bombshell on us!

Scott Gardner makes his long-awaited debut on D4G...but where are the LIT? We actually DID invite them to this dinner, but they all declined, so the foursome is Scott, Scott, J'Deane and Garrison.

This episode was actually recorded 7/11/14 at the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club at Walt Disney World Resort. However, when Scott Ryfun's phone was destroyed in a storm a few days later, he thought it was lost forever. But he recently found the recording as part of an automated backup! Now, it's yours...

The geeks get together for another fun dinner. This time, they're hot and heavy to talk about Jurassic World. The Geeks also talk about Ron's white line fever as he recaps his trip to EternalCon to meet the Two True Freaks crew! This segues into a discussion of the upcoming Jekyll Comic Con, which, for those interested and you should be, will be held December 12th on Jekyll Island!
