Today’s guest is someone I first met at last year’s CattleCon in San Antonio. I got to speak with her on the FarmHER+ RanchHER Making an Impact panel at NCBA, and I now can’t wait to introduce you to intelligent, warm and witty Anna Kobza!

Spoiler alert: she planned a wedding, got married, tackled a major research trial, and is mid-home renovation—all while wrapping up her PhD in feedlot nutrition and sharing her life on Instagram, fighting for the cattle feeder.

Anna digs into how she got swept away by the data, feedyards, and science of cattle nutrition. And we talk about her unconventional path into agriculture (she didn’t grow up in it), as well as how that “clean slate” perspective has allowed her to connect with consumers.

Plus we dig into guilty pleasures — for Anna it’s solo dinner dates with dirty martinis — her obsession with homemade ranch, and how she deals with internet trolls. There’s also a moment of fashion-related trauma involving white shoes and rumen fluid.
