A shattering shootout in the streets.  

Our intrepid adventurers find themselves in the middle of a gang war, and rush to defend the teahouse from the attackers. A fraught battle in the street ensues, with tommy guns and spells both, fired with abandon. Can our party stay on their feet long enough to defend the teahouse from the Grub-tongue threat? And what information can they gleam from Millie and Maggie, before it’s too late?

As thugs sporting tommy guns burst into the club, our heroes jump into the fray, protecting not only Winnie Gale, but also the public as a whole. After a battle over tommy guns, fisticuffs with an ogre, and a series of jokes about Huey Lewis and the News, the party, having successfully protected Miss Gale, make some discoveries about who might have been behind this attack, and make their way up to Winnie’s dressing room to discuss. A few hallway shenanigans and an awkward flirtation later, the party has their prime suspect trapped under a cloak of protection. But their victory is cut short as another threat is revealed.

Welcome to New Republica, a city on the move. In this city of glass and brass, skyscrapers covered in art deco gilding reach to the heavens, and elemental automobiles and sky-ships ferry the wealthy elite from fancy enclaves. Flapper dresses and business suits mingle, and armour can be seen under tawny trenchcoats. A veritable mixing pot, this bustling city is home to people of all races, genders, and cultures, and the illegal speak-easy nightlife is always hopping. 

As our adventure begins, we are introduced to our five heroes as they are given their first assignment as a newly formed team at McGuffins Incorportated, the largest and best Adventurers-For-Hire company in the world. Their mission: protect the jazz singer Winnie Gale. Someone's been sending her death threats, and our adventurers need to figure out who and why.
