Disaster Tourists

After a protracted visit to a local travel agency, the Tourists kill some time on their layover by getting their asses deeply kicked in a public venue. Rondo is still around; no one really asks what his deal is, though.

What starts out as a straight-up shopping episode shifts gears late in the ninth with some crazy reveals. Takeshi gets into the chip game. Kang gets real with a high priestess. Birgit and Harriet Treat Themselves. Dorf buys some pants and Uggs.

The Tourists get a bit of a rest and some help and info about a lot of place names with many consonants. In a crazy twist, it turns out that Kang is Neo. The adventurers also get their first solid clue to Birgit’s family’s location! Rondo continues to be taken for granted.

By the skin of their teeth and with fortuitous help from kind strangers with strong accents, the Tourists do NOT have a total wipe after all. Dorf does some coke. Birgit does some parkour. A guy shows up who might be called Rondo but no one bothers to ask.

There isn’t much time for legerdemain underneath the nimbostratus as the Tourists attempt to tank through an army. Everybody dies, probably.

The Tourists finally make it out of the stairwell they’ve been loitering in for three episodes. Birgit maces people repeatedly. Takeshi plays elevator repairman. Kang has a couple things blow up in his face. Dorf can get it. Harriet is skeptical about the multipurpose room. The Lorax doesn’t die.

Down in the terrifying nethermine, the Tourists try desperately to have a nap, and Kang does manage to seep. Takeshi tries to make a deal with a devil, and few of Harriet’s spells work like she thinks. Birgit’s kids are still in grave danger; while Sile continues to be some sort of flayed hellbeast. And a familiar figure appears, all ripped and ruggedly grimy!

Beset on all sides by gross monsters and pursued by a mysterious winged figure, the Tourists plunge through the Upside-Down. Sile comes out of her shell a little. Birgit does not enjoy a hug. Kang finally finds a flattering outfit.

The Tourists’ plan to talk their way into the mine goes slightly awry. Takeshi and Harriet do a push. And the journey to Vanoch Halen finally gets serious!

The Tourists make their way towards the old mine / portal to the Upsidedown, dodging black jumpers, over-complicating things, and pretending to be mining consultants as they go.
