    Good listen.
exciting story. I wouldn't say I loved it, but I did enjoy it. the character resolution was satisfying and the writing/reading was clear and concise.
    Fantastic story!
Fantastic story! I've read and listened to this book multiple times! I love Ted Dekker!!!
    Abridged?!?
The listing never said anything about it being abridged. There are whole portions omitted. It's hard to follow because of it.
What kind of Audio recording is this!!?
I purchased this book to listen to while reading along with the book. However much to my disappointment, this recording skips sections constantly!!! I can not believe that they chose to cut out some of the text! Why!!??
This also makes it practically impossible to read along with. Someone clearly did not do their job correctly. This is not what it is advertised to be. Don't waste your time with this title.
    Disappointed!
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
The description for this audio book did not mention that it is abridged. Will be returning it.

    Members Reviews:
    Disappointed
I was excited and anxiously waiting to read Cindy Woodsmall lastest Amish romance, but I have been sorely disappointed. The story line is weak and holds no excitement, or anything that would make me want to continue. The narration is boring and dull. Unfortunately I wasted my credit on this book, and can't even finish it. Cindy Woodsmall is an excellent author, but this is not one of her best.
Exceptional emotional and very touching story.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Definitely I would. I actually was brought to tears during a part in which they discussed people who are chronically ill.
What other book might you compare The Christmas Singing to and why?
The Christmas sleigh. Another Cindy Woodsmall book.
    Which scene was your favorite?
The mom tearfully admitted to her daughter that if she could have spared telling her and her dad that she was sick, she would have. She was agreeing with her daughters ex boyfriend who had been fighting cancer and was trying to keep it a secret as not to ruin her life, trying to spare her his grief and allow her tohave a normal life even if it meant without him.
If you could rename The Christmas Singing, what would you call it?
I wouldn't. It was perfect and got do well. Perhaps I would have called it The Sacrifice if I really had to.
    Any additional comments?
The narrator Cassandra Campbell is one of the best there is. She makes a great story even better. She brings the characters to life and one really becomes lost in the plot.
Good read beyond the Christmas holiday
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would recommend this to a friend that would enjoy the book for a good story. It isn't steamy or action packed but it is worth reading.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The main female character, Maddy Lane. She struggles with her feelings in the story and has a nice way of including the reader in her thoughts.
What aspect of Cassandra Campbells performance would you have changed?
    I wouldn't change anything.
Was The Christmas Singing worth the listening time?
Definetly worth the time and in the holiday season it was heart warming.

    Publisher: Recorded Books

    Genres: Fiction, Religious & Inspirational
    Publisher's Summary:
Writer and director Bill Myers has won over 40 national and international awards and sold more than four million copies of his books and videos worldwide. In Eli, he creates a fascinating scenario that reaches to the heart of Christian faith.
When Conrad Davis crashes his car, he should be dead. Instead, he finds himself in a parallel universe with a single difference from ours - Jesus Christ did not come 2000 years ago! Conrad finds himself in the midst of events surrounding a man named Eli - events that carry strong contemporary echoes of the life of Jesus.
Following Eli, Conrad is challenged to accept what he witnesses, just as Christs apostles must have been challenged. Eli gives a unique twist to a question many people have asked themselves over the past two millennia: How would I react if I lived in the time of Jesus? Richard Ferrones thoughtful narration captures the true conflict of a mans struggle with the decision to give his life over to Christ.
    Members Reviews:
    Strange but thought-provoking
What did you like best about Eli? What did you like least?
Eli held my attention, but it was not my favorite book. It did make me think about my relationship with Christ, & how I show my faith.
Enjoyable listen, not great but not bad.
Enjoyable listen, not great but not bad. Narrator overly dramatic at points but bearable.
    Amazing Story!
Where does Eli rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
Eli ranks on my top 10! Great story and parallels!
What did you like best about this story?
The unending love of God. Jesus' story brought into todays society struggles.
Have you listened to any of Richard Ferrones other performances before? How does this one compare?
Richard Ferrone is rate one of my top 5 narrators!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Even with the similarities of scripture, the story was unpredictable and compelling!
    Any additional comments?
    So talented! Love it!
Interesting approach to sharing the Gospel
Would you consider the audio edition of Eli to be better than the print version?
As with all audio books, the narrator adds his own "tone" to this book. I'm not sure I would interpreted some the scenes the way the narrator did, but it was good, none the less.
What did you like best about this story?
Shared the life of Jesus in a way that relates to the 21st Century without compromising the message as it appears in the Bible.
What does Richard Ferrone bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
His interpretation of the emotions behind the story.
If you could take any character from Eli out to dinner, who would it be and why?
I would have to say Julia. She is the character that seemed to need encouragement!
    Any additional comments?
This book was very well written and presents a interesting approach to sharing the Gospel of Jesus. I'm considering sharing this book with a young woman who is seeking to know Jesus.
    Loved it.
As always, another excellent Bill Myers book. Thought provoking and stimulating. A lot to reflect on while listening to this. Love Bill Myers' work, and love Richard Ferrone's narration.

    All I'll Ever Need
This was the best book in the series. In my opinion it shouldn't have taken 3 books to tell this story.....just my opinion. I wouldn't read them again.
    Change of narrator
I did not like the reader of this book. The reader of first 2 books in the series was much better, and to have a change of reader for the last book was just annoying.

    Another wonderful listen
If you could sum up Thunder in the Morning Calm in three words, what would they be?
    thrilling and uplifting
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
    Yes. Tense.
Have you listened to any of Dick Hills other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes. He is fine. There are some others better.
Who was the most memorable character of Thunder in the Morning Calm and why?
    Obviously the hero grandson
    Any additional comments?
    Looking forward to the sequel
    This is an awesome book.
What did you love best about Thunder in the Morning Calm?
I am an avid reader but this is honestly one of the best books I have ever read. I highly recommend this to everyone.
Chuckles to Tears, this is such a good story.
Don Brown has my vote for writing this book. It moves quick and holds the readers interest. The characters are well done. The narrator is perfect.for the characters. Well done.
    Very moving and powerful
    Any additional comments?
Amazing book - the whole narrative was engaging, but the last hour with the rescue and the revelation that one of the rescued prisoners WAS the grandfather the lead character hoped to find and the Christmas Carols - how beautiful they must have sounded after 60 years of imprisonment - and patriotic songs. VERY powerful. Who cares if it's entirely realistic - it deals with important issues and MIA's int he Asian wars (Korea, Vietnam) great courage. I'm about to order book 2 of the series.
    OK...but...!
As a former US Navy personnel for a few years this story had some unconventional situations.

    Critic Reviews:
Just a few pages into it I was hooked. Maier is that rare combination of masterful storyteller and historian. A brilliant use of the power of story to excite and educate. Bravo! (Hank Hanegraaff, president of the Christian Research Institute and host of the Bible Answer Man broadcast)
    Members Reviews:
A full course meal of Biblical archaeology
What other book might you compare The Constantine Codex to and why?
The Da Vinci Code was a tasty read, but Dan Brown played too fast and loose with history making it nothing more than mind candy. The Constantine Codex, on the other hand, is a full course meal that includes a heaping helping of history written by one of the foremost experts on early Christianity. Paul Maiers sense of history is impeccable and he doesnt hide his stripes when it comes to his faith.
    Any additional comments?
The Constantine Codex is a work of fiction about the discovery of lost books of the Bible and the effect it would have on the Christian faith. It is part thriller, travelogue, Christian apologia, theological discourse, and history lesson. The writing style is dry, complex and vintage, which pairs well with a book about Biblical archaeology. Nevertheless, Paul Maier presents cutting edge concepts and realistically predicts the future of Christianity. If youre interested in early Christian history, Biblical archaeology or the New Testament canon, I recommend spending a long evening sampling the courses of the Constantine Codex.
    Snoozer
I am only three hours into this and I cannot imagine finishing it. No Mystery. No Thrill. This book should be listed under religious propaganda. This is more boring than a textbook on the topic.
Imagine Dan Brown. Imagine Dan Brown Writing Badly
This book has too many words and few connected with interesting ideas. I don't want my money back.. after all, it's caveat emptor here in the free market. What I'd like is my time back. It's not so much money that Maier steals as it is a chunk of your life.
    What a waste!
I think this is the only book I have ever had in which nothing happens... Waste one credit and my time.
    Thinly veiled God Squad story
This book was just too preachy for my liking, pretty much one sided. I found it somewhat boring.

    Members Reviews:
    Narrator too young.
What would have made The Journey better?
    An older narrator.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I "thought" it was going to be a good Amish love story. The narrator removed my interest in it.
What didnt you like about Jaimee Drapers performance?
Jaimee made ALL of the characters sound like "teens with an attitude".
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Journey?
I didn't get far enough into it to be able to make that decision.
    Narration needs improvement
What did you love best about The Journey?
The characters were well developed. The story line was easy to follow.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I enjoyed Titus Fisher's growth in the story from the heartbreak, then grief, then forgiveness.
Would you be willing to try another one of Jaimee Drapers performances?
NO! The narrator is too young for this story and has no idea what people from Kentucky sound like. She over exaggerates the "southern drawl" that makes the characters intentionally sound unrealistic. People from Kentucky do not sound this way. I live in Kentucky and it grated on my nerves to listen to this.
The mispronunciations were brutal. Many of the Dutch/German words were mispronounced. She also should have at least done some minimal research into how to pronounce Lancaster, PA. It's the most common place to be referenced in Amish fiction.
If you could take any character from The Journey out to dinner, who would it be and why?
I would rather eat dinner at Suzanne's mother's house to be honest! She sounded like a wonderful person to meet.
    Any additional comments?
The author should do a better job at fact checking. She referenced plants in Kentucky that do not grow here in the way that she describes them. It's almost as if she were writing the story with a Georgia or another deep South location and calling it Kentucky. It felt as though perhaps she had done a basic, quick internet research and just plugged in Kentucky to the story as a location.
    mispronunciations abound
The reader of this story doesn't seem to know much about the Amish...she continually mispronounces "Ja" (which is a Deutch word and is thus pronounced "ya") and other germanic words. I was disappointed to find I didn't like the way the reader gave expression to the characters...I'm sure the characters were meant to be more likeable.
