    Excellent and...unusual
What did you love best about Crossover?
The budding relationship between two main characters and the established relationship of the older couple.
What other book might you compare Crossover to and why?
Really can't compare it to anything...quite unusual and quite imaginative.
What about James Killaveys performance did you like?
Didn't overdo it...just enough change in voice to make it clear who was talking but not so much as to distract from the story.
Who was the most memorable character of Crossover and why?
Flawed hero, Jack, - very likable guy, conscious of his limitations, but works to improve...and understand the situation..and gets the job done.
    Any additional comments?
Glad to see this is a series..already started the second one.."Journey."
    A great new series.
Where does Crossover rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
This first book in a series which features a Private Investigator called Jack Carter and explains how he comes to be offered the opportunity of becoming a Chaser.
What is a chaser, I hear you ask? Well, a Chaser is someone who is chosen by the Lord to chase those who run from the light when they die, or Runners as they are known.
Soon inspired, Jack, decides to follow his heart and take on the job, but first he has to undergo training, and then in this medium length audiobook we follow him on his first few cases.
Which character as performed by James Killavey was your favorite?
This story is enjoyable to listen to and the narrator James Killavey has a very powerful Wrath of God type voice which is really great for this book. I am pleased that the author has chosen the same narrator for the other two audiobooks released so far in this series
    Really different and REALLY good.
Would you consider the audio edition of Crossover to be better than the print version?
    Didn't read the print version.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Crossover?
When it went from normal detective story to WTF???
What does James Killavey bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Great job...really brought it to life.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
    A bit of both.
    Any additional comments?
Seemed like a normal good detective story until the "big reveal." If you can handle that...great story from then on. Glad to see this is just the first part of a series. Will be getting the next one ..soon.
Good idea but way too preachy
Cool story idea but way to preachy. I was looking for a fun fantasy (like Dresden Files) and felt like I was trapped in a Christian church sermon. Also the narrator has an annoying accent and reads the story on a slow, irritating cadence.

    Publisher's Summary:
This audiobook contains powerful Christian influences, love, family, and other related themes meant to make you smile!
Mail Order Husband: A Troubled Fraud Becomes a Cowboy Saint is a wonderful story about trusting in the Lord's plan and allowing his guiding hand to show you the way to true love. The story takes place in West Virginia, during the 1800s, shortly after the United States Civil War.
Greta, a lovely store owner, has yet to find a suitable husband to grow old with. Fearing that her time to love and have children may be running out, she places an ad in pursuit of a "mail-order husband". Little does she know that the man who answered her ad is not the man he claims to be.
Listen as God guides Greta through this trying time and touches the troubled mail order husband's soul. It seems that God always has a funny way of bringing two people of opposite upbringings together and having them fall in love.

    Oh brother!!!
As a general rule, I enjoy reading Christian romances. I don't worry about whether or not they will be clean, which is a HUGE plus for me when it comes to romances. This one was clean...at least as far as I got...but that's all I can say for it. First of all, it's written in first person present tense, which I hate anyway. Then the heroine has NO personality. She's about to be accosted by the man in the town she wants most to avoid and is rescued by the sheriff. He is warning her about the guy and she comes back with "I'm thankful for everything." A little later, after her mail order husband shows up, they constantly quote scriptures to each other. And at one point, she says something about following him to the livery to get his horse, and then she puts in parentheses that she actually doesn't follow anyone but Jesus. At that point, I just couldn't stomach anymore. It wasn't worthy my time reading it. As I said, I like Christian romances, I really do, but I'm reading the book for the story -- not a sermon, and this one was over the top
    Love to read
Story was good but the scriptures took up as much space as the story did. Would not recommend the book.
Too Much Chapter and Verse of Scripture
Like most of the reviewers, I would have liked more story and less chapter and verse of Scripture. Sometimes, "too much" just turns people away.
    Mail Order Bride Book Review
I am intrigued by the idea of moving from a family to go out west and marry some one unknown. This is the length of book I enjoy reading.

    Simply Beautiful!
I got this book on a whim halfway expecting to be disappointed. Boy, was I wrong! You know the old saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover"? That applies doubly with this title.
Not only was the behind the scenes look into life for the 12 tribes - in captivity - insightful ...but the tenderness of God's love for His children was communicated so beautifully.
    What an amazing book!
    Loved this book!
I sure hope there will be a next one! I really enjoyed this book! Thanks!
    The Shadow of Sinai
Would you consider the audio edition of In the Shadow of Sinai to be better than the print version?
    Didn't read the print version.
What did you like best about this story?
I always knew Egyptians following the Israelites into the wilderness, but this made that believe so much more real.
What about Daniel Koehns performance did you like?
    Excellent!!!!!!
Who was the most memorable character of In the Shadow of Sinai and why?
    Amos
    Any additional comments?
Fabulous Book. I felt as if I was there. :D
    Well Done!
Carole gave a historical story color and life. I felt like I was there.
    Excellent Historical Fictional
only problem was the fact of Children of Israel wandered in the wilderness for 40 years, not just a few years. Love the way the book brings this time honored account in the Old Testament in a more personal way for this fictional family.

    Intriguing, scheming fun.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes I would. It was well done and an interesting story. I enjoyed listening to the story and found it to be a fun premise.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Fatal Transaction?
The redemption of the main character at the end. She saw the light through a friend and came to repentance.

Get Ready for a Great Story!
What did you love best about A Secret Encounter?
This was my first experience with an audible book and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. The story itself is a wonderful story of God's redemption and love. The gospel is clearly presented through the writings of J.E.B. Spredemann. It was fun to listen to the different voices used by the reader Lisa Larsen.
What other book might you compare A Secret Encounter to and why?
If you enjoy the writing style and story line of Amish books, you will enjoy this book. J.E.B. Spredemann has written other books that I've enjoyed also.
Which character as performed by Lisa Larsen was your favorite?
I especially enjoyed the feisty old character of Harvey, and Lisa's audio presentation/depiction of him.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Whether you read this book or listen to it being read as I did it's sure to be a hit. I look forward to reading more from this author. I highly recommend this book, even if you've never read a book about the Amish community, you'll thoroughly enjoy this one.
    Any additional comments?
    Thank you J.E.B. Spredemann!
    Very Unique Amish book!
Where does A Secret Encounter rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
I received this book in an "Audible" format. I loved it. It was a really interesting read. I loved the fact that I could just plug in my earphones and listen as I went to and from work and relax and just enjoy this book. I really loved the very unique and different storyline of this book. Not like so many others that I have read. This one was different and so very interesting.
Anna Smucker is the female heroine of the story who takes on a personal calling to help two down-on-their luck street men. Not your ordinary Amish tale. The book is about more than just one Secret encounter, but you will have to read or listen to the book to find out what those are.
I enjoyed how the author incorporated some very good scriptures which fit so wonderfully in the plot format. It really was touching and moving at times. The author also talks about her "Project Vagabond" and explains how she wants to help those less fortunate in a safe yet caring manner. I think she has some great ideas and is very compassionate.
The narrator, Lisa Larsen, did an excellent job of telling the tale with lots of expression to add interest to the book and the characters that were portrayed.
This is definitely a 5 star book that readers of Amish fiction will enjoy very much. The Audible version was a really nice bonus!
Disclosure: I was given an Audible copy of this book from the author for my honest review which I have given.
A story of redemption, forgiveness, love
What did you love best about A Secret Encounter?
An enjoyable story of a culture I was unfamiliar with.

Or is he a fool to bring danger on the head of his only daughter? Chung-Cha is only a girl of twelve and is too young to answer such questions. Yet, she is not too young to face a life of imprisonment and forced labor. Her crime? Being the daughter of a political dissident.
The Beloved Daughter follows Chung-Cha into one of the most notorious prison camps the contemporary free world has known. Will Chung-Cha survive the horrors of Camp 22? And if she does survive, will her faith remain intact?

    Deeply Moving
If you could sum up The Beloved Daughter in three words, what would they be?
    powerful, moving, heartbreaking
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Beloved Daughter?
There were a couple of startling revelations. I don't want to give any details and ruin the story for those who haven't read/listened to it yet!
Have you listened to any of Kathy Garvers other performances before? How does this one compare?
    no
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me cry in several places.
    Any additional comments?
I was deeply moved by Beloved Daughter. The story is gritty and heartbreaking in places, but at the same time touching and inspiring. It burdened me to pray more for the people of North Korea, especially Christ's followers who have been imprisoned and are enduring unspeakable suffering for their faith. I really think all Christians ought to hear this story, especially those who don't know much about what's going on in other parts of the world. Now I can't wait for the sequel! Oh, and the problem with the chapters being out of order has apparently been fixed, as I didn't have any trouble with them.
    Amazing
Where does The Beloved Daughter rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
Among the top ten. Right along side the Francine Rivers narratives I enjoyed last summer.
What does Kathy Garver bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
I really appreciated the complexity of the scenes which contained dialogue. I could feel the personality of each voice as she brought him or her to life.
If you could take any character from The Beloved Daughter out to dinner, who would it be and why?
    Moses.
    Any additional comments?
I've both read it and listened to it and LOVE the audio version! Not only can I enjoy it hands-free, but I was able to pick up on things I missed the first time through. It definitely adds a deeper dimension. I look forward to Alana Terry's next book!
    My heart was so inspired!
If you could sum up The Beloved Daughter in three words, what would they be?
    Powerful. Convicting.

    A delightful well-written Christmas novel!
A great follow up for the original Christmas Jar novel. This book starts slow, but just for a little bit. Then it picks up and I didnt want to put it down. Its also got a surprise ending, too. I look forward to the follow up to this book, too. Great characters. Good narration but wish the womens voices were a little more like women without high nasalar voices.
Overall...excellent read. Recommend for all year around!
