A matter of life and death.

A short, sardonic horror story about real life and social media, the monologue perfectly executed by narrator, Barry Shannon. His beautifully intoned and enunciated performance make this really chilling.

A 'simply must' lsten..

Quick paranormal listen

Loved this book! The story packs a lot into a short time. Lots of action and drama, loved the characters too. Narrated excellently by the author which really added to the listening experience. I received a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Great quick listen. Fun ride.

Unleashed was a quick story in that the narrative drove the story and it was almost nonstop. Great writing and enjoyable different kind of story. Would definitely look for more by Mariah Avix.

I am usually against the author doing their own narration because they tend to be too close to the characters but Mariah Avix did a great job. She told the story with a clear excitement and listening to her, you get the feeling that the main character is someone she is very close to.

I received a free copy of this audiobook and I am leaving a voluntary review.

I hope that this'll be the start of a new series..

What a great short story... it's written and read by Mariah Avix... Mariah has a fantastic speaking voice and it feels like she is really in the skin of her protagonist, Diane... hell maybe she is! Diane volunteers at a pet shelter, always taking care of the worst cases to come in, the abused, and the older dogs... Then Diane is told to take care of a "dog" that has the whole kennel in an uproar... If you like tales of animals or "shifters" or both, you'll love this story!

Interesting story, a different take on werewolves

I really liked this story and am anxious to get the next in the series. I voluntarily reviewed this audio book after receiving an advanced copy that I requested.

A story about a girl and an unusual "dog"

Unleashed is an entertaining short story that tells the story of a girl and an unusual "dog" that pulls her into the world of the unknown. This is a complete story even if it is less than two hours long. The narrator, while not my favorite, does a fine job.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.

NEED TO GET AWAY FROM IT ALL FOR AWHILE? GIVE YOURSELF A CHANCE TO UNWIND AND RELAX while you enjoy these four short stories! The summary description describes each book - what I want to share with you is the INCREDIBLE TALENT and CREATIVITY that Mr. Day expresses in his writings. As an avid reader who loves all types of genres (with the exception of horror/scare the pants off of you so you can't sleep, needing every light on all throughout the house ... books) it amazes me the ability Mr. Day has to take an idea and draw out every emotion and thought provoking detail in a way that I have never seen before. Once you read his books, you too, will be ADDICTED to all of his writings. As readers we often find that after awhile, authors become predictable, this is so NOT true of Mr. Days' books, each and every book takes you on a new journey. These are books you will want to keep in your library and re-read again, that's how good they are ! As always, thank you Mr.

Great audiobook! Just missing one thing....

The stories are classic, and the narrators do a great job. As others have commented, the one thing this audiobook is missing is the names of each literary work instead of just chapter numbers. It would be nice to be able to skip to specific stories.

44 hours and No table of contents

Any additional comments?

44 hours 49 minutes of audio and no table of contents. That's right. The speakers, Heyborne, Chase, Corren, Campbell and Gardner are all terrific. Blackstone Audio should supply a table of content.

no chapters

no chapters, only one big chunk. you cannot search or otherwise forward to your favourite parts. so... meh.

I do not like poetry

What would have made Edgar Allan Poe better?

Just read the story without the poetry. The book was read in old English to the point I could not even make out what the story was about.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Steven King

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of the narrators?

not sure

You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

no

Any additional comments?

no

This is a very old book, going back to 1995 and the days of the DIY chapbooks we used to print off my old Brother word processor. I've known these guys longer than I've had kids and [they] taught me more in those early days of my own writing than I could ever repay. So to celebrate my two best friends, I wanted to finally let this collection be seen the way it never could in 1995. I hope you like it. And if not, well, I hope they like it at least. Most of the works here are pretty old, but I think they still hold up pretty well.

This collection includes poems as well as short stories.

She finds it odd then that ever since she saw a picture of Catahasa Yazzie, the young billionaire CEO of a property company in New Mexico, she's felt herself inexplicably drawn to him.

She finds it even odder that when she accepts a temporary position at his company's headquarters, he seems equally drawn to her. What Diana doesn't know is that her new boss has a secret; a secret with roots that go back to an ancient civilization older, perhaps, than time itself.

When the fruits of this secret reveal themselves to Diana, will she be able to survive the encounter?

Interesting audio book

Accept for the fact that I was taken back by how short of stories the "6books" were, it was a pretty decent story line. I would. otherwise have spent $14 on it though after listening to the audio. I like longer books.

Story did not flow very well.

Story disappointing. Did not flow. Endings to books were abrupt. Ending to story not satisfying. Heroine pretty stupid and defiant.

CUTE SHORT STORY ABOUT RHYS AND SAFFY!

Any additional comments?

** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review **

This was a short story that just proved that Rhys and Saffron are meant to be...they run into Saffron's ex and a men do they strut there stuff for dominance...but Rhys is a true gentlemen and Saffron a true professional and they put her ex in his place...

Good story, this new narrator is ok, but speaks a little too fast for my taste...I didn't have a problem with the old narrator...I kinda liked him.

Short and sweet!! (& HOT)!!

I loved this short story. It was just enough action packed into the story without any overkill or over the top angst. The love story between lead singer, Rhys, and band manager, Saffron, was super hot through the whole listen. It was gratifying to hear that Sonny Jace, Saffron's ex and bad boy lead singer for another band, gets what is coming to him.

The narrator was good. I have other voices that are a personal preference but Joshua Macrae gives a very solid performance. I had no particular complaints or nuances that would keep me from listening to another of his narrations.

Audio production was also good but I did not enjoy the guitar rifts in between chapters as it made me jump a few times when the audio volume all of a sudden kicked up many notches- heads up!

I definitely recommend this for a quick listen if you are looking for a gratifying smack down of the bad guy ex-boyfriend, and a steamy listen with a hot rocker (and arguably also a bad boy) shows his loyalty to his girl.

I LOVE ROCK-STAR ROMANCE- WHAT A RIDE!!!

What does Joshua Macrae bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Mr. Macrae did a phenomenal job performing this book. This is the first book I have listened to by him, and would have absolutely no problem listening to him perform any book I would listen to. He really made the book come alive.

If you could take any character from The Serendipity of Karma out to dinner, who would it be and why?

I could not just take one. I would need to take both Saffron and Rhys both. They both just seem so interesting.

Any additional comments?

This book was so delightful to listen to. I loved the story. I really liked how the authors built and defined the romance between Saffron and Rhys. The professionalism that Saffron omitted in the face of the %^&*. Saffron basically slapped her in the face without lifting a hand. I am a rookie when it comes to these two phenomenal authors, and have already started looking for more books by them.

Title: Brazen

Subtitle: The Bad Billionaire, Book 1

Author: Kay Brody

Narrator: Elliott Kane

Format: Unabridged

Length: 40 mins

Language: English

Release date: 02-22-16

Publisher: Kay Brody

Genres: Fiction, Short Stories & Anthologies

Publisher's Summary:

My name is Donovan Belmont, and I'm everything a guy wants to be. I'm rich. I'm good looking. I'm brilliant. And I'm still only 21 years old.

If I'm who every guy wants to be, I'm who every girl wants to be with. That includes you. Because I not only look good; I am good. At everything. If you know what I mean.

If you don't know what I mean, I don't really care. Whether you have a brilliant mind (I doubt it) or are a brainless idiot (like most girls with whom I spend my nights), I'm only interested in sex. Good sex. For me, anyway. And then I'm out and on to the next one.

If you don't like what I'm saying, oh well. You'd still probably let me screw you. Just don't expect anything more. I'm too busy between finishing up my time at Harvard and making millions for my boss; a very important, very private guy. The kind of guy who makes things happen. Through me. Sometimes bad things. But I'm cool with that.

As long as it keeps me on top....

This was not your best writes

I'm not impressed with this story, nor does it make sense to me. There are too many things going on, like if they didn't know each other before their boss's shindig, why all of a sudden he has an office where she can see him....the scenes just don't make sense. The fact that you have him doing coke, makes him lose his sex appeal. Julia's 9 years his senior but there's no chemistry...I can understand a romance with an older woman and younger man and vice versa, but the fact that she's going to black mail him for sex....really, desperate much...definitely not my cup of tea....this story could have been written much better....definitely not interested in getting the next installment

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME

I expected something else what a bunch of garbage! I hate the main guy i hate his attitude i hate everything about this book!

Title: Such Stuff as Dreams

Format: Unabridged

Length: 30 mins

Language: English

Release date: 01-27-16

Publisher: Spoken Realms

Genres: Fiction, Short Stories & Anthologies

Publisher's Summary:

Read by award-winning narrator Mike Vendetti, this is the short story of an Anglican priest. More than one young woman's heart was near to breaking as she remembered he was a vowed celibate. But his languishing admirers had no notion of his other life: the dreamland in which milky-skinned Circassian girls with hair as russet as the copper beech, small, high breasts, and eyes like tortoiseshell awaited him, or Russian women, white as the moon, or Mongol maidens with slant eyes and lily feet, like the daughter of the Kha Khan Messer Marco Polo knew and loved so long ago in far Cathay.
