Great story about a lost dog

I found this story to be interesting to 10-12 year old. It could be interesting to older children. As a substitute teacher I like to read stories I find would be interesting to my students. I thought this story was very cute. It is about a dog that gets swept away by a storm while his humans are on vacation. Tango must now find his way home. He loses his collar and tags so the people who took him in can help him find his way home. He is in search of his collar. He has the other animals help him find it.

Also great book! I loved hearing dogs' adventures on finding new homes or the journey they take on finding their original homes!

Great Choice for Book Clubs and Reading Aloud

Tango has just the right tone for reading aloud in class. We had so much fun with it! I would recommend it for any elementary-grade read-aloud, book group or family. There's enough tension and excitement and self-identification for older students, and enough hilarity and tenderness and thinking animals for younger children. A lot of story built into a wonderful [sense of] place. Charming without the sap. Wise without the preachy. Funny without the mean. High stakes without the -- well, you get the idea. A wonderful novel.

I am buying these books for summer reading gifts for kids to read and to read to kids ages 5-15. It's a wonderful story about a cute dog and wonderful place, PEI. Learn your most difficult tables in an instant!!!

Taught this to year 3 class today, they loved it. Anything that makes learning tables more fun for kids has to appreciated. It gives more hesitant students the confidence to enjoy maths; once they master the huge hurdle of "tables" they can focus on the more complex material. Thank you Mr Numerator I felt like I was performing a magic trick for the class, a great time was had by all.

The basic teachings are sound, although very limited in its application.

It is hard to listen to the same introduction for 1 ? min. I take objection to his suggestion that others do not want us to know these things and the suggestion that one learns so that we can challenge and beat the teacher in front of the rest of the class. This is likely to annoy the teacher and so hinder the child?s progress.

Great introduction to Shakespeare for Kids!

If you could sum up The Children's Shakespeare in three words, what would they be?

Simple but works.

What about the narratorss performance did you like?

Classic narrators for each play - all great.

Any additional comments?

Although not always 100% true to the original Shakespeare plot, enough of it is kept, just simplified. The characters are the same and the main plot the same. The main quotes are kept but again simplified or just shortened to the key famous parts. My son, aged 11, is reading A Midsummer Night's Dream at school and this was a great addition for him to understand the plot and solidify the main characters in one sitting. I have read a better children's version of As You Like It though. I thought this was too simplified. However is probably better for younger children and as a first introduction to Shakespeare.

Engaging Bio for Kids

What made the experience of listening to Who Were the Beatles? the most enjoyable?

I enjoyed hearing the stories of their childhoods and this fast-paced overview of their lives. It was also refreshing to hear about some of their challenges growing up, and that they weren't clearly destined for greatness to those who knew them.

What did you like best about this story?

It was an entertaining story of some of my favorite musicians and got my kids more excited in their music.

Which character as performed by Kevin Pariseau was your favorite?

Not really an applicable question to nonfiction, but I will say that the narrator was engaging and lively, though not particularly memorable.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It is a short book and one you could easily get through in one sitting. I think it took us two sittings to get through due to schedule, but there was certainly no desire to pause it. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Any additional comments?

I recommend this whole series, especially for late elementary kids. The sort of thing they listen to for fun but also learn something.

This book verges on the disturbing for me. But that is because of the times we live in. Rabbit makes suggestions for mom's present. Some of his suggestions raised my eyebrow. That said, this is a much loved story book around the world.

beautiful illustrations

I bought this book for my preschool granddaughter who lives in Japan and did not know what a thunderstorm was (who knew that Japan doesn't have thunder storms). While there is a lot of text for her age, it has satisfied her curiousity about thunder and lightning, and she will grow into the more advanced text. The illustrations alone are worth purchasing this book.

A classic

Some people find this story slow. There is a lot of repetition, but because of that, my two year old listener loves it. She adores the pictures which, having been done by Maurice Sendak, are fabulous. It's just a little girl who is trying to figure out what to give her mother. Mr. Rabbit tries very hard to be helpful. What do you think they come up with?

Great book!!!

My daughter received this book in her Easter basket and she absolutely loves it! It is a very cute story that keeps my five year old's attention and has her begging me to read it again. My cousin recommended this book, remembering it from her childhood 20+ years ago. This book would also be a great story to incorporate into an art teachers lesson. It talks about colors and could have endless possibilities in the classroom.

Trouble according to Humphrey

I loved that his book there was a lot of bad thing is it the pets because they thought the pet was geting the Kids sick but to come and find out it was the weather i love this book i would like to read the whole series.
