The Mystery in the Cave

Hello, I'm going to do a book review on Mystery in the Cave by Gertrude Chandler Warner! Would you ever want to be trapped in a cave for a long time in the dark? Here are two important things that happened in this story. First, they found a rock in the way so they could not get inside the tunnel. Also, they found an underground stream below the cave and there the Boxcar Children found a missing boat and Benny's headlamp! I like this story because there was a lot of an action. Also, the mystery was hard and I like hard mysteries! The pictures helped me understand the story a little bit better. The message the author shared was Caves are not just for fun there also are treasures! Why doesn't anybody want them down there? This is the best story!

What I Liked About This Book

I loved this book, and I hope you write more books.

YES YES YES!!!!!!! This was sooooo good, and I am 43 yrs old!!! I ADORE Annabelle, and this was laugh out loud funny!!! Great for ALL Ages!!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Annabelle, she was so cute!!!! She was so mad to be a fart fairy....but she finds out why and saves the world!!!!

What about Kat Marlowes performance did you like?

OMG! SHE NAILED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was so good! I dont know how she performed this without dying laughing!!!!

THIS WAS FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!! I laughed and laughed and laughed!!!!!!!!! Annabelle is selected by the fairy queen to be a fart fairy, and she is soooooooooooo mad! She goes to fairy boot camp and then does her training and gets herself in a little bit of trouble and has to go to fairy prison....lol Then the earth becomes in danger of being destroyed and the fairy's have to try and save it...and Annabelle comes to the rescue! She not only saves the world, but learns why she was supposed to be a fart fairy!! This was a giggling good time!!!!!! The story was fun, and the narration was flawless!! 2 thumbs up!!!

Hilarious

This book will put you in the sport for thanksgiving!! It is a funny book with lots of personality from the author. Even though Mr. Carbles is just the mean new principle he brings the book together. The skate battle was hilarious and fun. Mr. Klutz even marrys a pig, for the second time. An and his friend go on a amazing journey to get Mr. Klutz back as principal. ( they even find out that Mr. Carbles wears a toupe instead of real hair!!) If you haven't read this book I highly recommend it. If you have read this book I suggest you read it again!!!

Well I like that Mr. Cables isn't a real teacher, he's just despicable.

I didn't like when he fires Mr. Klutz and putting the students in his power.

In conclusion Mr. Cables isn't a good man, he's a bad man.

hysterically funny

We started with Mrs Yonkers is Bonkers because we have a cat named Bonkers. Imagine our surprise at the mischevios boy being Arlo (our dogs name). We love ALL the books but this one we re-read the Frank chapter at least once a week and can almost quote the whole book. Its amazing that we get sleep after reading these at night. Too funny.

Funny Book for kids

These are great books for reluctant readers. My daughter does not love to read but she does LOVE reading this series. They are funny, goofy stories that keep her interest.

Son loves them

My 7 year old son loves these books, doesn't put them down til he is finished. All the boys in his class are treading them. Content could be better but the fact they have him reading gives it 4 stats.

Four Stars

A fun book! My three year old daughter loved having my husband read it to her!

Perfect for kids that love dinosaurs!

My husband and I read this book aloud to our 4 year old. My husband and I didn't particularly like the story, but our dinosaur obsessed son loved it! I liked that it exposed him to a ton of new words and it held his attention.

Great book for my little one

My son, age 4, loves this book. We've read it together twice already. The dialogue is very funny, and the plot has enough twists and turns to keep the pages turning. He didn't find it too scary and really loved how the little dinosaurs used their brains to overcome the T. Rex. He also loved picking up the long words.

Poorly written, gross, juvenile

This book is awful. In this book the mom dinosaurs are brilliant and skillful and the dad dinosaurs are lazy fools. The moms are constantly making up for the dad's inability to understand the situation.

The book is gross. It lingers over descriptions of dinosaurs eating flies off dead dinosaur carcasses. The dinosaurs hang upside down and poop, and the poop narrowly misses their heads. Poop comes up again and again.

The villain, a T Rex, eats baby dinosaurs, a fact the author apparently finds fascinating: "I wonder what wretched animal will die today to feed its digusting appetite."

The story is fatuous and predictable. It's juvenile,and not in a good way. I had to stop reading it to my six year old halfway through. Do not buy.

Not for young kids

Most of the other reviewers have covered the primary shortcomings of the book already, but I wanted to add that the overall tone is just not fun. The parents frequently make narrative asides in which they cast scorn on their mates; readers are often (often!) reminded that the T-Rex loves to eat baby dinosaurs; and the two toddler dinosaurs end up killing the T-rex in the end in a way that just isn't fun to read to young children.

Our son is not squeamish; we watch grown-up nature shows and dinosaur shows frequently. For this story, the gore and human sniping placed in the context of characters that talk and express feelings is a bit much.

Annoying and boring

A story that goes nowhere, one tiresome dialogue after another, and obnoxious character voices. I was so disappointed because other reviews made me think it would be fun for my daughter.

Fabulous - boldly goes where no other story goes!

I would describe this amazing children's story with one word Unconventional. If your child is looking for a story that will blow their socks off! - then I would suggest they pick this one!Emma goes on a stupendous space-rocket trip and learns about the life of Jellybean the Dragon and lots more interesting Dragons on planet Zanu. There are some fabulous characters in this story. Cyril the dragon is a scream. King Buttercup, the King of Zanu, is hilarious.

The Animal Seeker by Shirley Galbrecht - A spaceship story; but a conventional one.

What does Gail Shalan bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you had only read the book?

I was very impressed with Gail Shalan. She really enhances this story will clear and precise narration. Her interpretation of the main characters is extremely good. This adds another dimension to the fine story telling.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I experienced lots of enjoyment and laughter. I also encountered some moments when I really felt for dear Emma - particularly when she had challenges and important decisions to make! Really good fun though.

Stacy at her best/worst?

This was pretty typical of the rest of the series. Some romance/love triangle some action and mystery. Good read, but not amazing. Will continue the series.

Fun and twisted

I do enjoy Ms. Annino ' s writing. it's light and breezing if not a bit nuts. I am disappointed that number 6 in the series is not yet available to buy on Audible . it is available on Amazon for Kindle, hardback and audible cds, which makes me wonder, not on Audible.

funny and captivating

I like listening to this reader she does the voices well and the author is great at keeping you listening her words make me laugh smile and sometimes hold my breath

Yet another addictive series for me...LOL

Great book from beginning to end. Story had a lot of intrigue, mystery, and characters that were well developed and believable. The narration was spot on. I know I will be getting more in the Stacy Justice series.
