Great Risk Information

I have rated this book with 5 stars because it is a great tool for understanding and applying Risk Mnagement. The text is clearly understandable and the examples given can be applied to project work and risk management. Some books are just full of facts, and are tough to read and grasp the concepts. This book makes sense, is easy to read and understand and with the addition of real life examples, it is a great resource for my class and one that I would definitely recommend to others. This one is a keeper!!

Highly practical

This is one of the best books I have read in a long time on the important topic of risk management. The treatment of the standard risk model is complete, easy to follow, and very practical. Some of the other bonuses include organization/facilitation tips for risk identification workshops, and proposals for tools and reporting formats. The material will quickly lend itself to practical applications in the work place for those who are interested in improving the risk identification and management practices in their organizations.

Possible improvements to the book could include more technical examples related to product development (the book uses the risk of `heart attack' as an example throughout the book), and a CD with electronic versions of the tools and reports that are proposed.

Enlightening for sure.

So many great ideas. Easy to read and understand the concepts. Realized I need to do ALOT more in my business to survive and make money. Some of the ideas are so simple you forget they exist.

Definitely recommend to anyone in business.

Good read for entrepreneurs who need encouragement to not give up.

You have to applaud Casuburi for being one of the first to recognize the potential of a low cost-high value fitness franchise. This book provides some good takeaways for entrepreneurs--encouragement to follow your instincts, passion and dreams to create something that will be successful. Does ever idea work? No. But the message here is that you don't need every hit to be a homer, you just need one, maybe two. What I also got from this book, is that you don't want to ever forget that it's about making every customer feel welcome and important.

This guy has a really bad track with previous business

I'm a firm believer in doing your research, planning ahead, for long-term effective/successful goals. I'm also a believer in seeing someone's continued success stories and wealth and using that towards your "drive".

With this being said, I not only read the reviews of this book that I was looking at, but went even further to research this guys' name and business(s). This guy has a really bad track with previous business, ethics, churn-burn, lawsuits, faulty contracts. From previous employees at his gyms saying "scamming people into contracts" to being sued back in 2009 by another business for "false promises and misrepresentations" I would steer clear of anything this guy has his name tied to.

I will have my popcorn ready as I have a feeling the next time I will be seeing his name may just be on an upcoming episode of "American Greed"

VERY informative book for new business owners learning their way. Clearly some disgruntled people that didn't know how to run a business blaming Mr Casaburi is the case for the off color reviews.

There are multiple reasons that this is an extremely important book on how organizations work and how to maximize the productivity of the teams in them. I have chosen five of those reasons to describe in this review.

First, it was co-created by 225 professionals from 38 countries. You get a global perspective regarding how to generate positive organizational results.

Second, the book provides dozens of real examples from around the world to support the points that have been made. You meet real people who tell their real organizational success stories.

Third, the authors âfocus on using business models to better serve internal customers. This is operations. Operations is where most people work.â The approach to using these business models is 1. Participants draw personal business models. 2. Participants define their model. 3. Participants map individual contributions onto their teamâs model.

A foundational part of the learning in this book regards how to create The Business Model Canvas that includes Key Partners and Key Activities as two of the nine elements central to creating impactful teamwork. The authorâs and contributors show you, using pictures and graphics and explanations devoid of jargon, exactly how the process works.
