Reading lessons are included at the end of unit 30 to provide you with an introduction to reading the Russian alphabet. These lessons, which total about one hour, are designed to teach you to sound out words with Russian pronunciation and accent. A reading booklet to be used with the audio lessons is also included in PDF format.

Would you listen to Russian Phase 1, Units 1-30 again? Why?
I have listened to most lessons more than once, to get better and better at pronunciation. I listen each day during my drive to and from work.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Russian Phase 1, Units 1-30?
The method is so effective you do not realize how much you are really learning it until before you know it, you are understanding complete conversations. I was utterly astonished when suddenly I realized I was just understanding EVERYTHING with no internal translation or effort! It was as if I was speaking English!!!!
Have you listened to any of the narrators other performances before? How does this one compare?
The audiobook uses a male and female voice, and both are used to give you a better opportunity to pick up the exact pronunciation, and to understand the differences in gender. It also keeps things interesting as you get to participate in "real" conversations.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I had tried and loved Rosetta Stone... it seemed to me to be the best way since the books I had studied in the military.
