A bit of a Greek tragedy wrapped up in a medieval fantasy situation.

I tried reading the next book in the series, and I just couldn't do it. It is the same old,"Poor young man finds out his parents are not biological, but really he's royalty and fights to get his rights backs" plot and I just wasn't interested.
I still really enjoyed this book. Even thought I got it for free, I am pretty sure I would still buy this book. I think you could read it as a stand alone, pretty much knowing how the series will end from the plot.

I really enjoyed the book except for the ending. I'm not going to give away the ending, but when one of the main characters in the book dies, you go,"Well, crap, I didn't expect that would happen!" One of the characters is a bit of a Greek Cassandra, where this person makes predictions that are going to happen, but nobody believes the person until it is way too late. The book to me is a bit of a Greek tragedy wrapped up in a medieval fantasy situation.
I got this book for free, but I am totally willing pay for the next book.
Ravenward
Thea the loyal, a female knight and the kings adopted sister, the young king, Galin and his wife, queen Nina, who's hoping for a child, the kingâs jealous and unstable twin brother, Kade, Orcs led by dark elves, Elves and others are the characters Stephen Atwood masterfully written book , Ravenward. Magic, swordplay, murder and betrayal are just a few things that occur as the story unfolds. The audience of this YA fantasy might find this book more that a bit dark, especially the ending. I couldn't put the book down and look forward to the next book in the series, Prophecy of Axain.

Good read with surprises throughout.
Good read. Going along just fine when MY characters started dying off. I was shocked and a little ticked off. Such great characters and now I have possible favorites that should flesh out in the upcoming book. I really enjoyed the book. I'm going to re-read it next week. Thank you.
High hopes, but disappointed in execution
The plot sounds great: the kingdom's first female knight, raised by the king after being orphaned, overhears a plot to assassinate the prince (her adopted brother), and takes it upon herself to save the royal family. But the execution falls flat. The characters are underdeveloped and predictable, without being particularly likable. The writing style itself leaves much to be desired.
If you want a story about a strong female knight responsible for saving the kingdom, read "Defy." This book will just leave you disappointed.
Good read, pulled right in!
The story is well written, lots of action and characters are enjoyable. Want the next issue in the saga soon
