Love Hate relationship

Honestly the author goes in really great directions in terms of story. But for whatever reason he loves having the main character be the most annoying, whining, and pathetic person in existence. She has overly large complexes and I really sometimes can't stand when he writes out what she is thinking. I fast forwarded at least 4 chapters worth of book because it is bloat, doesn't add to the story, and is irrelevant because nothing that the main character thinks about what is going to happen ever does. He uses the main characters wrong thoughts to then try and pull off a "what a twist" moment but once you realize that her mental ravings are never right then they just become a waste of time. The main character's thoughts are just as annoying as the main character from the Twilight series. Some times I find myself wanting to tell her to just shut up and do something already. There are almost whole chapters of complaining and worrying about NOTHING.

However when the main character isn't being annoying the story is quite good. This would be a solid 5 if he would just stop the annoying and extremely boring mind games and just write actual story. However without all that filler and useless side stories he would have a rather short book. You can easily knock off 5 hours of bs from this book and read the story and you wouldn't know the difference.

Best story since Harry Potter

A great magical education series that's written more for adults than kids. I usually dont bother to rate books or write posts about them but I felt this series deserves my time and recommendation. So anyone looking for a great listen well look no more.

the voice makes the story

Loved the first Book. Still Love the ninth. the narrator really makes the authors story come to life. Some parts is a bit cliche but the plots makes up for it! looking forward to the next One!!

A great read with action, suspense, love and hope.

I really enjoyed this book. I've read the other 4 in the series and found that I have gotten quite emotionally attached to the characters, and I have the burning desire to know what is going to happen to them. "There" did not disappoint. Some of the newer characters have been more fully developed, and I had a very satisfying moment of happy endings to one of the subplots.

Jones has created a world in which we explore good and evil, vengeance and redemption, and while the story line is full of intrigue and action she has allowed us to ponder what truly makes someone turn to evil, and are they beyond hope.

It's really a great series that deserves wider acclaim. From young teens to adults there is something for everyone here.

Always another adventure

Book 5 takes us into yet another adventure but this one is a bit different. Without giving too much away, let's just say that our group has a lot to overcome and solve in this book. As always, T Russell Jones manages to dive right into the story and capture your attention from the very beginning and doesn't let you go until you finish. I must also add that I've grown fond of listening to the series on Audible as well. I highly recommend this novel and the only bad thing I can say is... there's ONLY two books left in the series!

Much action

This book had a lot of action in it. The ending was a surprise. Looking forward to the next book.

This Book continues the epic journey of Ston, Ivy, Uncle and Avon to defeat the Knave. Many interesting things happen along their journey. Jones takes us on a journey into yet another circle that is intriguing, action-packed and thought-provoking. I am hooked on this series.

What an amazing story!

I really loved this second book! It is riveting and very hard to put down. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen next, a new twist was introduced and I was taken off on another journey. Not only was this a nail biter, but I can guarantee the ending will leave the reader counting the days until the third book in the series is released! Amazing!

Better and better

The hallmark of a good series is that it just gets better and better. Shadowbound certainly meets that standard, adding on wonderful layers to the story presented in Nightforged (which must be read first) but keeping all the good things that made that first book so enjoyable. My only complaint? Book 4 isn't out yet and I can't stand having to wait for it!

Intricate Imagination - A story you shouldn't miss

Carrie Summers' imagination surprised me once again. I was impressed most by the interactions between the characters and the intricate detail surrounding the society, it's beliefs, and a unique thing I can't describe without ruining the story. Needless to say, the unique thing is such a creative idea that it really makes Carrie's book rate high for me.

Interesting enough to read the series

I enjoyed the premise, and the promise of adventure. The love triangle thing was weak and fell apart quickly, but the action kept me interested. Not as much development between the Lead and her love interest as I would have liked, it wasn't deep enough of a connection for me.

The fight for survival?!?!

In this book we see an advancement in Lilik's skills, her return to her home, and the battle to return to Ioene to defeat Mieske Ulstadt. Unbeknowst to her trouble is stirring among the Trader Ulstadt family. You must read to find out what is going to happen. I would totally recommend this series to anyone that might like a touch of things a little bit beyond the ordinary. Its kind of a mix between paranormal (in a round about way), mystery, and a love story. Please give this author a shot, she really is a great author.

Awesome

I began reading this series last October (2016). By the time I had caught up, this marvelous young author passed away. His wife and brother have done a wonderful job in honoring his legacy, maintaining the integrity of the characters, and matching the stories flow. I understand the author had left completed segments and notes for them to work with, but finishing the work of another- even a loved one - is challenging in the extreme. In Ben's terms, a level 5 spell! Yet, they have done a brilliant job. Very well done!

Galloping toward the finish line

This was one of the best books of the series.I can't wait for the conclusion.As usual the narration was superb.

This story does a great job with drawl you been leaving you wanting more. It draws you right up to a cliffhanger I cannot wait for the next story! What a great series!

Great series so far

This has been a great series. Definitely written for the younger crowd but still very enjoyable. Its nice having books to read that are devoid of sex and profanity.

A Fantastic Story That Left Me Excited For More!

First off, I suppose I should start by admitting that pretty much as soon as I finished listening to this audiobook... I started it over and listened to it all a second time. I will often get to the end of a particularly good book and not want to start something new because I like to let it sit for a bit. But it's pretty rare that I will just instantly start reading it because I enjoyed it so much. And that's what this book did for me.

I have always been a fan of character driven works, and Fates Aflame did not disappoint. Each of the characters had fun, believable personalities and they were an absolute joy to get to know better as the story progressed. The interactions were great and I really look forward to getting to know them better in the upcoming sequel!

The story was a lot of fun and held a lot of elements that I always enjoy. The romance plot was sweet and not rushed. The feelings budding over time as they grew to know each other better-- instead of being a sudden 'love at first sight' kind of thing. I find this style much more realistic and wonderful to read because you get to watch the emotions grow and blossom.

And then, of course, there's all of the mythological and folklore elements that are involved in the main plot of the story. Fantasy has always been my go to genre and this book does not disappoint where that is concerned. The lore felt to me that it was a wonderful mix of well-researched and personally created, the two aspects melding together into a riveting world history and legends for the setting. And even the more familiar creatures that you might run into have their own unique flavor that helps them stand apart-- like the unicorn, Malachite's vivid coloring and the Firagia the dragon's wings being literally made of flame.

Overall, I loved this book.

Extra! Extra! Read all about it . . . Murano does it again; another epic hit out of the ballpark. The 'Race' further explores the world of Tyrulan, the caravan city of Tirkalanzibar including one very inhospitable tent, a mysterious new place (you will just have to find out for yourself), the Kingdom of Mycene, back to Ahiramâs hometown, and finally off to the Wretched Race. This book further explores the characters we love from the two previous books and also introduces new characters, some seedy and others that could become even more extraordinary in the next book. I love that we saw more Aquilina in this book and look forward to reading more about her in the future. Now the depressing wait for the next book, Hurry up Murano!

If you like a book you can't put down...this is a book for you :-)

Oh my! What a page turner. Ahiram really matures in this epic volume and is really put to the test. He is challenged physically, spiritually, emotionally and intellectually in earthly realms and realms beyond imagining. The best of the Epic of Ahiram tomes thus far!

Action! Adventure! Friendship! Gratuitous amounts of animal sass! (No joke on that one)

Well, it looks like Murano's done it again! Another fabulous book and another satisfied customer!

The character development in The Wretched Race is excellent, with a darker side of Ahiram beginning to surface, and yet, paradoxically, a side of him that is even more fiercely driven by justice than we've seen so far. The book also features a good deal of animal sass (you'll see what I mean) and some other points of humor as well, all of which lend to injecting some comic relief into the mix, especially when things get very dark.

Where does Behemoth rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

Well, I've listened to hundreds in several genres, so ranking doesn't make much sense to me. This series and this finale are a great deal of fun. The combination of Trevor and Andrew I can rank as in my top 5 favorites.

What did you like best about this story?

It was good to have so much of the Jarro Grove tension resolved in this book. There was a lot of interesting action and some awesome boss fights.

Had to be one of his best books Trevor H. Cooley is a very inspirational writer I can not wait for his next book.

great saga end and still leaves me wanting more

these characters are addictive. Justan and his bonded have an established role but it's great to see fist come into his own. all of the budding relationships give an entirely new twist and the action along with the new races all work together to provide heart-felt and sometimes heart-wrenching moments

Best book in this trilogy

Everything just worked in this book. Naration was spot on throughout. Now I am excited about the next series...

A 1000 year old enemy returns for revenge.

The Behemoth is startlingly original in its concept of a larger than life foe. The vast area of swamplands allow it to stretch and grow to a titanic size, even allowing parts of it's 'body' to pop up all over the swamplands. .

Normally such a foe would defeat or devour the defending armies, however this one recycles their prey and creates a new species called Trollkin, a ready made army.

Fist and his bonded have to find new ways to fight the enemy, whilst Melinda rears her ugly head again stirring up trouble wherever she goes.

loved this book so much I couldn't stop listening to it and Andrew Tell the narrator has done another fantastic job, bringing the characters to life.

If you enjoyed the previous books in the series this one will stir your imagination and pull you into the lives of the characters.

there's one thing that ruined this book for me: the ending. I was obvious that Rice just wanted to keep 'the main villain' alive so that she can come back in later books to cause trouble. this broke the realism in the book because it made some characters hypocrites as they were like Ok I won't kill you because that's immoral but I will let you get captured by slavers so that you can inevitably escape and come back to seek your revenge.
