Good start. It died at the end.

first part of the book was informative. However the last chapter turned into more of a technical manual. It went too deep for this type of a book. yet the amount of information provided was insufficient to have any real impact. overall a decent book. Don't waste your time on the last chapter

Mismatch?

My goal in reading this book was to get a better understanding of how blockchain works, where it is likely to be employed, and to think about whether all the hype is warranted.

This book is pretty light on the second and third of those goals, with more guidance on how to set up your own blockchain. Really? Is a person who is planning to set up a blockchain going to start with a one hour self help book?

I now plan to look elsewhere such as on YouTube for some visual guides and maybe for another article or book to help me understand the hype.

Interesting info about the social side of Silicon Valley and all that but romanticized it and heavily overplayed the stereotypes of nerdy coder with no social skills vs the banker on the east coast. It also didn't really talk about the work these people were doing at all. Not much exposure to thiel himself either. Overall would not recommend, listen to something else

What made the experience of listening to Rule of 72 the most enjoyable?

Jacobs and Del Vecchio made a scary topic understandable and relatable. I felt more empowered with every chapter.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ben Franklin has always been my favorite founding father and it was so cool to learn more of his wisdom and to see how it has been proven over time.

Which character as performed by Tom Jacobs was your favorite?

Tom Jacobs has a wonderful way of making it seem as though he is speaking to you alone. His voice reminds you of your best friend that gives you really good advice but never patronizes.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to the book in one sitting and will listen to it again while taking notes!

I am a 48-year-old barber with a very small salon and no idea if or how I would ever be able to retire. Del Vecchio and Jacobs have provided the tools and rules that are helping me to make a plan and get to work. The information in this book is presented clearly and thoroughly with humor and warmth. For me, the idea of investing in the stock market has always been an intimidating one. After reading Rule 72, I feel not only more confident and prepared but inspired to make my money grow. I would recommend this book to people young and old who want to make smart, sensible choices and actively take control of their futures.

Excellent thought processes and information on how to handle decisions that can be vastly complicated. It can be difficult to determine the whens and hows of parting with ownership in a business, but doing it at the right time for you and at the right time for your buyer can be huge. Ideally both sides want to hit the best place in the time/value curve for their own goals...learn from an expert!

Great book! A must read for every business owner.

I've been involved with business sales and acquisitions of privately held companies for over 40 years. Every business owner must exit their business sooner or later. Some owners exit feet first and someone else handles the exit process. Others plan for the exit and often retire millionaires. This book will help you exit your business at the right time and for maximum value. Nice job Richard!

Time well spent

I was very pleased with this book and felt the time reading it was well spent. Even if retirement or the selling of your business is off in the distance, this book provides some very useful perspectives for making decisions along the way. It will start you thinking about timing, how to attain the best valuation and eventually an easier sale. Recommend to small and medium business owners.

Great summary of interesting book

This book is all about how manufacturers manipulate salt, sugar, and fat to keep consumers coming back to their products. Fat gives a sense of satiety and flavor to foods, and salt and sugar are pleasurable tastes we can never seem to get enough of. I don't think this is a conspiracy like the tobacco companies manipulating the amount of nicotine in cigarettes, but it does make me wonder how much these companies think of their consumers. Sugar and fat when consumed together, combine in the bloodstream to form plastic like plaque which blocks the arteries and eventually leads to heart attack and stroke. It then falls to the consumer to become educated about this deadly combination, as well as the role salt plays in raising the blood pressure. A constant diet of high fat and sugar leads to other health problems, too, like diabetes 2 and some argue, a decrease in mental function that can lead to dementia as we move into the 70s and 80s.

This Instaread summary does a good job of highlighting the main points with key takeaways and a thorough analysis of Moss's argument. I received this summary for review purposes and highly recommend it. It covers all the main points in a clear, well-written style. It will serve well as a companion to the full text, or as a stand-alone, fast read.

A very important insight is padded with superfluous libertarian ideology meaning the reader has to work to get the benefit of Malmgren's discovery.

The story of our nowadays economic problems are well told and explained. The books gives you an overview of our current situation but never saw the signal that would have ignited me.
