Welcome to the horrific and poetic world of Sam Stone, where angels are stalking the undead and a vampire becomes obsessed with a centuries-old werewolf. Terror and lust go hand in hand in the disturbing world of the Toymaker, and the haunting Siren's call draws the hapless further into a waking nightmare. Warning: This audiobook contains explicit scenes and language.
    Critic Reviews:
"Stone's pulpy blend of sex-driven mystery/monster fiction is decidedly decadent, filled with fanged female protagonists and predominantly emotional and sexual themes, which range from the typically monstrous to the utterly bizarre." (Rue Morgue Magazine)

    Brilliant, loved it!!!
Zombies In New York has to be one of my fave books. I love the collection of stories and poems in this book. There are not many books that make me feel jumpy but The Toymaker's House, which is one of my fave stories in the book, managed to leave me feeling very jumpy afterwards and I love that Sam Stone does not shy away from the blood and gore as some authors do.
I loved the Zombies In New York story, which features the vampire Lucrezia from Fultile Flame, which is book two in The Vampire Gene Series also by Sam Stone. There are a selection of stories in this book that feature Lucrezia which are all really good but Zombies In New York was my fave of the Lucrezia stories.
My other fave story from the book was Immortal Monster as I really liked the fact that the story is deliberately ambiguous which let the reader interpret their own ideas as to what really happened.
Another story I feel I just have to mention is Clown Addict which really had me laughing at some of the clownish deaths caused by the clown addict.
I really liked the authors notes at the end of each story which explain the ideas of how the story came about, i thought this was a really nice touch.
I have given this book 5 stars and would definately recommend it.
    Zombies and mayhem
Something is sapping the energy of the usually robust dancers of the Moulin Rouge...Ok, that's all I had to read to get sucked into the story. Good read. Creepy, yet fun. Sam Stone is now officially on my watchlist for new books!

    Title: Bloody Mary
    Author: Drac Von Stoller
    Narrator: Ted Brooks
    Format: Unabridged
    Length: 5 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 10-02-12
    Publisher: Drac Von Stoller
Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 1 votes
    Genres: Fiction, Horror
    Publisher's Summary:
Halloween had finally arrived. It was Mary's 16th birthday. Her parent's had finally decided she was old enough to have a sleep-over at their house. But she was only allowed to have two of her best friends spend the night after the party.
Mary called Kathy and Kim to invite them to the sleep-over. Kathy and Kim both agreed and said that they would have a great time together, being that they were all the best of friends. Mary hung up the phone and said, "This is the best day of my life. I'm going to turn 16 today and I finally get to date boys."
Mary's little sleep-over and the conjuring up an old urban legend called "Bloody Mary" would prove fatal for them all.

    Don't Meddle in Stuff
    12/04/2016
I've heard so very many versions of this legend that it isn't even funny. I swear, I think it's almost as old as time itself. I like hearing all the variations, but I'm darned well not bold enough to try the conjuring. There are just some things I don't meddle in.
    The Urban Lives
Bloody Mary is a retelling of the urban legend with a slight twist.
While it was entertaining and brought up past memories of campfires and story telling it is just the tale of Bloody Mary in this book.
    Do not play this game
If you girls or boys that try to play this game just rember before you play the game tell your parents you love them a lot and plus if you play this game. you are the meanest kid in the world because your going to try and talk to the dead please DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME.
    Horrible!
I hope no-one spent money on this book. Poorly written. Very short and kind of dumb, will not read again.
    Unimpressive
Im not sure what's the author's purpose with this short story. If it's to get you scared, or if it's to hook you up and get you to get the book with all the tales. I know it's free but common! this was like reading an article from Wikipedia

I'm sorry i thought this book was for adults
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
seven year old boys. it has gore and shock, but the voices are over blown and the writing simple like a purple dinosaur
What could Drac Von Stoller have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
    not published it.
Would you be willing to try another one of Michael Adashefskis performances?
Negative. He is good for telling children a story around the campfire, but not for me.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
anger, disappointment. i love short horror stories.
    Any additional comments?
Perhaps i am being unfair, and this graphic book was for young adults. but even so, the mind of a child can feast on meatier fare than this junk.
    Just awful
I've seen a lot of stories by Drac Von Stoller popping up on audible lately, so when a collection of more than about 8 or so came along, I ventured a credit to see what was what. I listened - grimly - to the entire collection, though I could tell in the first five minutes or so that I was going to hate it, but I wanted to give it a fair try before passing judgement. It really wasn't worth the effort. The stories might be kindly described as the kind of thing a primary school student might be proud of writing in the year or so leading up to secondary school. Perhaps that's who it's aimed at.
It's not that Von Stoller's ideas aren't imaginative, they're just poorly, or maybe just too simply, executed. Take an example: the main character of one of the stories is wandering up to the locked room at the top of a lighthouse of a mansion he's just inherited or bought (I forget which) - "Suddenly from behind door emerged Dr Death!". Those aren't the exact words, but that's how basic the style is. Dr Death hasn't featured at all in the story up until then, and there follows a long expositional section about who he is, etc. It's the kind of thing that'd be handled by rumours or maybe a chance-discovered journal or newspaper cuttings in almost any other horror story I can think of, just laid out in such a way that I'm thinking "and why does that matter?" all the way through. Dialogue feels clumsy and false, and is sometimes forced in as exposition to the plot.

"Rosamilia jams the E-major of dark crime in Death Metal. That scream you hear is the electric-soaked feedback of scorching prose." - Scott Nicholson, author of Scattered Ashes
    Critic Reviews:
"Death Metal is a sharply written tale that starts quick and works its way to an edge-of-the seat ending you won't forget. It's one of those stories you just can't stop reading. Bravo! Or should I say Rock and Roll!" (Laura J. Underwood, author of The King's Wind and The Green Women)

Summer finally arrived and Ben, Susan and Mike were excited to close their textbooks and spend the summer at the lake. Their parents were glad their kids loved spending the summer at the lake because it gave them some time to themselves to not worry about what their kids were up to.
Their parents dropped off their kids, waved goodbye for the last time. The camp had been closed for a couple of years because of a secret governmental experiment that went horribly wrong. But since the new owner of the camp got clearance from government officials that deemed it safe for the public, the owner was able to reopen the camp. But the government forgot to dispose of the cannibal people that were sealed in the barrels. Since no reports of any deaths at the lake were reported, the government just put the file on the lake experiment in a filing cabinet. Shut the drawer to never be heard from again. So they hoped, but that's one file that's not going to stay buried for long.

    Publisher's Summary:
He had lost his family, murdered both his boss and his best friend, and taken refuge from a manhunt in the wilderness where an ancient force called to him. Being hunted...and haunted, was only the begining. The Blue Ridge Mountains of Southern Appalachia are ancient. They are older than the Rockies, older than the Alps. The Blue Ridge was old when the Himalayas were in their infancy. Beautiful, enchanting as is a Venus Flytrap to an unsuspecting fly, but there is a horror bellied deep in the serenity in those rolling blue hills of southern Appalachia.
The Gorge is a story of backwoods mountain culture, of a snake handling, strychnine-drinking pastor, who rises to power over his devoted flock. Of a Native American curse, confining an even older civilization of cannibal cave dwellers to within in the boundaries of a mountain gorge, hidden deep in the backcountry of the five hundred thousand acre Pisgah National Forrest.
Nathan Mires is drawn to this place, as a moth is helpless to the magnetism of a glowing porch light. His life has fallen to pieces; something has taken control of him, causing a murderous rampage, which has led him to flee into the backcountry of the Pisgah, seeking refuge from a crooked, spiteful sheriff. Soon after he arrives in the gorge, he discovers his problems have only just begun.

It didn't live up to the other reviews :-(
What disappointed you about The Gorge?
The story was filled with cliches' and flat.
Would you recommend The Gorge to your friends? Why or why not?
No, I would not recommend it. The author tried to put too many story lines, attempting to make the story rich but ended up with a flat, dismal hodgepodge of a novel.

Sam Jackson had over a thousand acres of tobacco that brought in so much money it made him the richest farmer in a town called Painville. Sam never had to worry about money for many years, but Sam's money making machine was about to run dry. Sam's ego and money got the best of him one day. Sam was drinking with some of the local farmer's down at the local tavern. Sam pulled out his wallet and started counting thousand dollar bills on the table in front of them. The farmer's weren't impressed. If anything they were jealous and had just about all the bragging they cared to hear. The farmer's told Sam they had to get back home because it was getting late. Sam said, "Go right ahead, I'll just keep counting my money."
The farmer's piled into their trucks. Instead of going home like they told Sam they were, they had something else on their minds. One of the farmer's said, "I don't know about you guys, but I think it's time we teach this egotistical money hungry farmer a lesson." Everyone agreed so they headed down to the gas station and filled up their gas cans and waited until after midnight before heading back to Sam's farm to set his tobacco field on fire.

    Creepy and imaginative
    Creepy, but imaginative.
Always Count Your Money In Private
This is a really cool story, and I thought that it was very grim and macabre. My only complaint is the numerous grammatical mistakes, Drac needs to hire a proofreader, pronto. And if he already has one, he needs to fire them, because he really does have a very creative mind.
    Too painful
Too painful to read with all the grammar mistakes and poorly structured writing. Felt much like a fifth grade essay.

H.P. Lovecraft Meets Peyton Place: It's the 1950s and Misty Valley is just another sleepy, All-American town, nestled along the Miskatonic River. Unlike sister cities Arkham and Dunwich, Misty Valley has managed to avoid the peculiar occurrences that have plagued the region since the days of the colonial witch trials. That is, until the night Carol Anne Fairweather and her boyfriend, Billy Mahan, parked too far down on Lover's Lane. On that old, foggy night Billy was attacked and knocked unconscious, while Carol Anne was brutally raped by someone - or something - that came out of the woods.
Now, in order to clear his name, Billy must discover what really happened that horrible night. But can his mind withstand the awful truth he uncovers? Or will he end up as mad as Old Gooney, the crazed hermit who claims to keep watch against the dark forces that would make Misty Valley their own? Inspired by the work of H.P.Lovecraft, award-winning horror writer Nancy A. Collins adds another tale of terror to the never-ending Cthulhu Mythos.
    Members Reviews:
it's ok. I kept waiting for something to happen.
if you are familiar with the genre at all, this story is completely by-the-numbers.
The only bright spot is the excellent voicework by Shandon Loring.
    Very silly Lovecraftian story
If you could sum up The Thing from Lover's Lane in three words, what would they be?
    Droll American Gothic
Who was your favorite character and why?
The unseen but always present Lovecraft.
What about Shandon Lorings performance did you like?
Shandon Loring understood the good humored parody of Lovecraftian lunacy and added his own to the mix.
If you could take any character from The Thing from Lover's Lane out to dinner, who would it be and why?
The 1001st, of course. Better get in good with the new masters. Wonder if He likes McDonalds?
    Any additional comments?
I love Lovecraft - all muck and fog and horribleness implied and never directly shown. I read a lot of the stuff as high school student. Now I find that I like nothing better than a parody of Lovecraft, and a mash up of 50s style scholcky horror films and Lovecraft is just about as good as it gets. Shandon Loring did a great job with this delightful nonsense. Each character was an individual in his claws, er I mean hands. I can't figure out how such a deep voiced male can do such a strong falsetto when voicing females. And he never makes the mistake of having one high female voice for all the women he reads lines for. If only he would read Scream for Jeeves...now that would be something!

    An odd story.Werewolves, baddies, goodies...
It's a fairly commonplace story with fairly commonplace writing with fairly commonplace characters.
The 'goodie' falls in love with the werewolf-ish person. Nice locational descriptions. Slightly redeemed by a not-standard-happily-ever-aftere.
It's a listen for a hot day on the beach when you want your mind in neutral.
