Great action story
Tony Piazza has another winner with "The Curse of the Crimson Dragon"! As before, his writing style is such that you can picture the tropical locations and characters described therein. He manages to catch your attention and lead you through the maze that is the plot. It is difficult to determine the who in whodunit. Can't wait for the next one!
A NAZI SNAKE IN PARADISE
Hold on to your seat and enjoy a fresh blast into an action story in the tone of the way such stories used to be written. It's a fast, fun run for the goal without all the inner angst and dinner descriptions that bogged down today's tales. The time and place is mid-World War II in Hawaii. Interspaced with all the events and actions is a good look into a Hawaii of over 70 years ago. The action is non-stop without being tiring or overdone. A very fast paced and good read.
Fun story
This is an enjoyable to read. If you are looking for a fun book and a bit of adventure, give it a try.
Nostalgic WWII suspense novel
This is a nostalgic suspense novel about intrigue, during WWII era in Hawaii.
The author's skills at visualizing sites and events kept me reading the whole book in a very short period of time, hard to put down before knowing the end of the story.
Indiana Jones Meets Bulldog Drummond in this page-turner
It's mid-1944 and the war against the Nazis in Europe still rages as does the war against Japan in the South Pacific. However, except for barricaded beaches and blackout curtains, life on Pearl Harbor has returned to normal after the attack of December 7, 1941.
Or has it?
Two mysterious men make a quiet arrival on the Pan Am Clipper and soon all hell breaks loose for "Rogue" Ryan, owner of a charter air service, and Reggie Manning, his trusted former-RAF sidekick. There quickly ensues a fight in a Chinese restaurant involving a pot of boiling oil, the appearance of an infamous Madame, and the disappearance of a crimson dragon hidden in a statue of the Buddha. Even with the dragon gone, the Buddha is still way too heavy for its size. Is there something else hidden there, and if so, what?
Ryan and Manning, an Indiana-Jones-meets-Bulldog-Drummond pairing if there ever was one, soon find themselves up to their you-know-what in, not only alligators, but a murder or two, runaway trains, fistfights galore, a submarine and a motorcycle chase.
Catastrophes seem to fall from the sky as the pair search for Doctor Vandershoot, a missing physicist and his daughter, Andrea. The pair may--or may not--have something to do with the contents of the Buddha.
