Would you consider the audio edition of Black Panther to be better than the print version?

Yes, I would. The reader's performance was wonderful and really made the story pop! Both my son and I enjoyed it very much.

What did you like best about this story?

It was a new take on an old hero. Meeting the hero in childhood gives us insight into the experiences that will make him the character we know and love. I also love the fact that his father is VERY active and present in the story. I also like that there is a friend of T'Challa's father helping him along the way. A son being shaped by his father's presence instead of his absence.

Have you listened to any of Dion Grahams other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first time I have enjoyed Dion Graham, but he was great.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

T'Challa's conversations with his father and his father's "friend" (no spoilers). Again, it's wonderful to see a young black boy being shaped by his father and other male figures as the adventure of his life unfolds.

Any additional comments?

I really and truly hope that this is the first in a series of books about T'Challa when he was a boy. If Harry Potter can gets 7 books, I am sure there is room on the shelves for our young prince! Ashe.

A Very Beautiful Book!

I have really enjoyed listening to Black Panther: The Young Prince! Not only is the story amazing, the narrator is fantastic. Once I started listening to it, I couldnt stop. The book is very beautiful and interesting. Its about a young prince who travels to Chicago from Wakanda on an amazing adventure. I highly recommend it to all.

This is not Nancy Drew!

Oh boy, did this book tick me off! This book has to be the most biggest slap in the face to ND fans and a big insult to fans and Nancy Drew herself! Nancy is so wimpy, immature, and lame in this book. Every few pages, she gets easily scared or shakes from fear or screams in fear. She screams in fear more times than anyone else in the book! Bess and George also have to comfort Nancy sometimes because of her lame behavior! Nancy even has George lead the way in the haunted house when they go there to investigate because she is too scared to! In one scene, she says she is glad she hasn't peed herself from being scared! Um, really? How is this girl supposedly Nancy Drew, and even a detective at that too?? This is not Nancy Drew at all! She even says she investigated haunted houses before, but how can that be if she's scared all the time?? Her timid behavior was a bit annoying in previous books(#12, #13, and #15), but her behavior is worse in this book, way worse! Nancy is not strong, brave, and confident. Also, Bess scares Nancy and laughs. That is so unlike Bess! But Bess was pretty entertaining in this book, she carries around pepper spray and threatens to use it. She also seems to be back to her old self from the old series, she is scared and hungry like she used to be. But back to Nancy. Nancy is sort of determined in this book, but she has to keep telling herself why she is solving the mystery in order to stay determined. I guess she also kinda uses her head in this book, but her behavior overshadows her detective skills and really, the mystery solves itself here. In one scene, where Nancy and Hannah are at the door, getting ready to see who is outside, Hannah has a rolling pin for a weapon and Nancy thinks she should be bringing Hannah out sleuthing instead of Bess and George, basically saying Bess and George are not good sidekicks! Wow Nancy, poor Bess and George. But then Nancy changes her mind at the end, saying there wouldn't be any other two people to face an "angry ghost" with. Um ok then. There is also in one scene that had taken me back a bit.

Another amazing edition to the best series ever! I felt so bad for Fireheart in this one, Bluestar as well though I felt she was being a bit of a drama queen.

I don't know how an entire pack of dogs when undiscovered for so much of the book or found by the humans but apparently I am going to have to imagine that know one was ever near the same room at the same time or something.

I still cry

This is probably my 5th time reading this series and I still cry during Bluestar's death; this performance makes it all the harder to listen to without tearing up. 10/10

Whats even better is that my older son who is in 7th grade picket it up and started reading it and finished it in one day and asked me to order the next one. Number 2 is not out until September, but I went ahead and preorder.

In a world of Magic, One Girl has Zero

This is a world in which everyone has magic, every person can do some form of spell, from the full on Magic Users that create magical items and study magic full time, to cleaners who use simple spells to help them with their daily tasks. The world is kind of like an old world England, with villages, Lords etc, but prestige is not determined by Magical talent rather than sheer wealth.

The story starts with us being introduced to the Aquirre family, the Father is a powerful Mage, able to craft items of true power, and do other amazing feats of magic. His wife is a world renowned Potion Master, able to craft, brew and generate potions of amazing magical power like no other. In the Magical world, twins are a great gift, making a family extremely powerful, so when the Aquirre family are blessed with triplets, their power and place amongst the Elite is practically guaranteed for generations. That is, right up until Caitlyn, the 3rd of the triplets is found to be a Zero, someone with absolutely NO magical ability at all.

Her two sisters Alana and Bella of course have it, Alana is the standard precocious, horrendous, snobby person absolutely full of herself that you would expect in such a family. Bella is kind of lazy with her magic, knowing that she is the 2nd child.

There are going to be obvious comparisons to Harry Potter here, but this is much better. For starters, Caitlyn doesnt have all the answers, she has to work for things, she isn't handed them, and Nuttall has actually written his story, rather than re-writing a lot of well-known mythology, and having a fairly predictable story.

Secondly, having the main character with no magic in an entire world of magic users is a lot of fun. Yes, I know, it has been done before (Such as Weis & Hickmans Darksword Trilogy for example), but this is a fantastically written story.

Nuttall has created a beautiful world for the characters to play in and this story to unfold, and it adds a sensational depth to the book. With the upper class magical element, and the peasantry all wrapped around magic through, rather than money, it creates a unique perspective of things. There are also references to this ancient Empire that existed previously that fell, and how knowledge was lost, and those of today are trying to re-create some elements of the new world based on this old Empire.

A 5-Star Finale for Lockwood & Co.

I LOVE this series and The Empty Grave is another exciting adventure with the Lockwood & Co. gang. This is the fifth and final book of this series, so you must read the books in order. Trust me you will love every minute you spend with this group of friends.

This series is set in an alternate universe of London, England. England has been plagued with ghosts (called visitors) and they arent your normal hauntings. These ghosts are dangerous and the living can be killed by just a simple touch from the ghosts (aka ghost touch). To save the day (and the country) teams of gifted children battle these visitors and exorcise them to the other side. There are many companies for hire to do the job and Lockwood & Co is one of the best teams out there. The team consists of Anthony Lockwood (owner and leader with the heightened hearing of ghosts), George Cubbins (researcher), Lucy Carlyle (investigator that speaks with ghosts) and Holly Munro (admin assistant). For this last adventure Quill Kipps (a former investigator from a rival agency) joins the team for their ultimate battle. Im not going to spoil the story for you but you should know this had the edge of your seat action, chilling mystery and hilarious moments Ive grown to expect from a Jonathan Stroud book. In this final book we see the groups relationship grow beyond colleagues and friends. They have become a family and would make the ultimate sacrifice to protect each other.

I hate to see this series end! But I sense this really isnt a goodbye. The ending felt like a beginning to a new chapter for the group (or is it me wishing this for more or a spinoff lol). But Im going to miss Anthonys charisma, George and Skulls sarcasm, Hollys perkiness and Lucys noble spirit. Lucy will forever be one of my favorite heroines. I love her witty nature and her loyalty for her friends. Fans received exciting news this week that this series will be coming to TV. I cant wait to see this show.

This book was so cute I didn't want to quit listening. The characters were well thought out and the story was well done. Loved the narration, all around great book!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely a hard to put down book. I must say the narrator is stupendous. Best reading I have ever heard. You couldn't have picked a better narrator. Kudos to Elizabeth Knowelden.

I absolutely loved this book and didn't want it to end. Thank heavens I read the author is working on a book 2. James Nicol's world was totally enchanting and drew me in. Fantastic writing. Although labelled as a middle grade book, its appeal certainly transcends to a wider audience. In fact I liked this book so much I purchased the book from Audible as well and I must say the narrator they picked to read it was absolutely stupendous. They couldn't have made a better choice. I played the Audible book while I followed along on my ebook. Great character development and a fantastic tale. I highly recommend this book. Definitely will be reading book 2 when it is available.

as adults, it can be hard to remember how overly difficult we made things when we were younger.

Very good narration in a beautiful British accent! The story is somewhat predictable but fun nevertheless and I personally enjoyed listening!
