Before the battle of the SandWing queens; before the prophecy and the dragonets sent to save Pyrrhia from endless war; a long, long time ago...evil was born.
In alternating chapters this Wings of Fire special edition takes listeners back to the very beginning, when powerful, mythical dragons Clearsight, Fathom, and Darkstalker - the most dangerous dragon of all - were just dragonets. When the future was bright and uncertain, when no one had been betrayed or had their heart broken.
This is the origin story that changes everything.

    What a story
I loved clear sight and fathom. They are unique and special characters to me. The the always kept me interested. The twists and turn of each view point was very cool and I would like to see it in other books as well. The end really stroke home, is there really such thing as a bad dragon, as a evil one? There were no dislikes I have for this book. One of my favorite parts was when listeners and clear sight's friendship. Love Dragons Forever. And can't wait for the next book!
    Awesome book.
The more I read of Tui. T Sutherlands wings of fire books the !it's i fall in love with each one. They are great and fun/entertaining listens despite being targeted at young audiences. This one has definitely become my favorite so far. Just the way the story tells a classic hero with good intentions and how power by its nature is corruptive is wonderfully done.
    Pretty good
I like the story but I dont like that darkstalker casts spells on his friends
    Great book!!!
I love listening to this book over and over! It is always fun to listen to no matter how many times I have heard it!
    Dragons are awesome
I am a huge fan of dragons, and any story about a world of dragons is a winner in my book. That being said however, this is still an awesome book.
I recommend the Wings of Fire series. ALL OF THEM. I enjoyed it, and if you enjoy this sort of thing, then you will too.

    Publisher's Summary:
Mal's an expert at intimidating her enemies, but she's broken the habit since leaving her villainous roots behind. So when she and her friends, Evie, Carlos, and Jay, all receive threatening messages demanding they return home, Mal can't believe it. Sure, she's King Ben's girlfriend now, and she's usually nice to her classmates, but she still didn't think anyone would be silly enough to try to push her around. The thing is, it kind of worked. Especially since she and her friends have a sneaking suspicion that their villainous parents are behind the messages. And when Evie looks into her magic mirror, what she sees only confirms their fears.
Maleficent's just a tiny lizard after her run-in with Mal at Ben's coronation, but she's the worst villain in the land for a reason. Could she have found a way to escape? Whatever's going on, Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay know they have to sneak back to the Isle and get to the bottom of it. Without its infamous leader, the island's even worse than when they left it, but the comforts of home - even a home as gloomy as the Isle of the Lost - can be hard to resist for recently reformed villains.
Will the kids be able to beat the evil bubbling at the Isle's wicked core, or will the plot to destroy Auradon succeed?

    Members Reviews:
    Awesome!!!!
I loved this book. This in my opinion is the best book in the series so far.
    Exceptional narrator
Keith knobs is the best narrator I have personally listened too! he was engaging and easy to understand/follow.
    Exhalent
    I loved the book.
Cole is a great hero. He does not always make the correct decisions, and even though he beats himself up for this, he keeps going. There is a time he complains it is too hard, but he keeps going. So while he is not perfect, he is not disappointing.
something different happens to the power of each of the princesses, and what happens to Destinys power is completely appropriate. I do not want to give anything away. I will just say her power is rather wiled
This story is a little dark and creepy, but what else can be expected. Not only do they have to deal with dead people and people who can tell the future, but they have to go into the realm of the dead. So lets put in a couple of bantering heroes to lighten things up.
You will also fine old friends as well as a couple you may not expect. Again no spoilers.
    Amazing!
Surprises, never a dull moment, excellent narration, sad it's over! Can't wait for more!
    WOW
Brandon Mull, you have me anxious to await your next book. I have enjoyed all of your books, but you have vastly improved at keeping my attention!

Please note: This audiobook is in Spanish.

Great series to listen to with your kids
My son and I have been listening to this series on our daily drive to school. It's a great way to introduce him to some of the history we've lived through since so many of the stories are from recent history.
This story was the only one I had never heard of. It was really interesting to hear how attitudes towards sharks have changed over the years. As an animal lover, my son was fascinated by both the story itself and and history of human beliefs about sharks.
