    Publisher's Summary:
According to sixteen-year-old Zander Osborne, nowhere is an actual place - and she's just fine there. But her parents insist that she get out of her head - and her home state - and attend Camp Padua, a summer camp for at-risk teens.
Zander does not fit in - or so she thinks. She has only one word for her fellow campers: crazy. In fact, the whole camp population exists somewhere between disaster and diagnosis. There's her cabinmate Cassie, a self-described manic-depressive-bipolar-anorexic. Grover Cleveland (yes, like the president), a cute but confrontational boy who expects to be schizophrenic someday, odds being what they are. And Bek, a charmingly confounding pathological liar.
But amid group "share-apy" sessions and forbidden late-night outings, unlikely friendships form, and as the Michigan summer heats up, the four teens begin to reveal their tragic secrets. Zander finds herself inextricably drawn to Grover's earnest charms, and she begins to wonder if she could be happy. But first she must come completely unraveled to have any hope of putting herself back together again.

    I recommend this book.
An easy-to-relate-to group of troubled teens try to figure out who they are and what they want from family, life, friendships, and each other at a summer camp for at-risk teens.
The narration is great, the characters well developed, and the subject matter is deep, while still being funny, raw, and honest.
    I highly recommend.
    Good teenager read
I found this book to be wonderfully written and the storyline was good from the start. The character development wasn't drawn out and boring as so many are. Even though I am in my forties, I still enjoyed the story. It isn't the best ever, but I thought it to be worth the read. I think young adults and teens will really enjoy this.
    An Interesting Look at Life
The characters were very easy to get invested in. I enjoyed the story. It was a highly engrossing listen and the narrator was extremely effective at dragging you into the world. It was an emotional rollercoaster and a enjoyable ride.
    Like watching a teenage movie
Has something in it, but for an adult as me feels like a little light and easy. Good to kill time while in my one hour commute though.
A Little Juvenile, but still a good Listen
We found the content to be slightly juvenile in a sense; however, the meaning of the story was powerful and relatable. I like the narrator of the story. She used different voices for each character and seemed to have interest in the story. I wouldn't listen to the audiobook again, but I would recommend it to anyone who plans to send their kids to camp or therapy. -Brad

    Publisher's Summary:
What if the most terrifying person you know is your 10-year-old sister?
Seventeen-year-old Aussie Che Taylor loves his younger sister Rosa. But he's also certain that she's a diagnosable psychopath - clinically, threateningly, dangerously. Recently Rosa has been making trouble, hurting things. Che is the only one who knows; he's the only one his sister trusts. Rosa is smart, talented, pretty, and very good at hiding what she is and the violence she's capable of. Their parents, whose business takes the family from place to place, brush off the warning signs as Rosa's "acting out". Now that they have moved again - from Bangkok to New York City - their new hometown provides far too many opportunities for Rosa to play her increasingly complex and disturbing games. Alone, Che must balance his desire to protect Rosa from the world with the desperate need to protect the world from her.

    Really good
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I'm an adult about to take a YA fiction writing class so I bought this for research. This was just as good as any adult thriller out there. I listened every chance I could. Rosa is super creepy and I loved all the supporting characters as well. Good narration too.
REBOOT of The Bad Seed, but not as good.
Story took WAY to long to get going. Snoresville until chapter 20 something. I'm really upset I waisted a book credit on this one.
    Great Story
This was an excellent story ad very well written. The story is told from the point of view of Chet a seventeen-year-old young man. He is in New York for the first time with his parents and 10-year-old sister Rosa. This brother and sister relationship is more like priest and a confessor. Che tells you from the beginning of the book that his sisters has serious personality issues. She only tells Che about her true self. Che her loving brother, secretly documents their conversations.
Their parents are version of a hippie who belief let my kids grow and discover the world for themselves. Consequently, the childs selfish personal desire is the moral compass instead of what is right or wrong. The busy creative parents find it easier to assign the responsibility to Che to take care of Rosa.
For 75% of the book we follow Che with his teenage problems. He is in a new country, no friends, missing his home and tired of trying to keep others safe from Rosa. When you meet Rosa you know instantly that something is not quite right with her. As Che is telling you about her past transgressions you are waiting for the shoe to drop, will she push someone down the stairs or kill a cat. You get little glimpses of her manipulations and the panic it invokes in Che. That is what keeps you reading, what is Rosa going to do? Then you are given a little picture, which can be explained away as just childish wrongdoings.
Che and Rosa plays the exhausting word play of, you told me not to do it, not to dont have someone else do it. Just when Che feels that he has found a play for him. Things fall apart. His parents can no longer make excuses for Rosa and they must try to save Che.
The apple does not fall to far from the tree. Even though you do not see Rosa in action until the later part of the book, you will get pulled into the story. Justine Larbalestier does an excellent job keeping you involved in the story that does not have any real action.

    Publisher's Summary:
Cath and Wren are identical twins, and until recently they did absolutely everything together. Now they're off to university, and Wren's decided she doesn't want to be one half of a pair any more - she wants to dance, meet boys, go to parties and let loose. It's not so easy for Cath. She's horribly shy and has always buried herself in the fan fiction she writes, where she always knows exactly what to say and can write a romance far more intense than anything she's experienced in real life.
Without Wren, Cath is completely on her own and totally outside her comfort zone. She's got a surly roommate with a charming, always-around boyfriend; a fiction-writing professor who thinks fan fiction is the end of the civilized world; a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words...and she can't stop worrying about her dad, who's loving and fragile and has never really been alone.
Now Cath has to decide whether she's ready to open her heart to new people and new experiences, and she's realizing that there's more to learn about love than she ever thought possible.
A love story about opening your heart by Rainbow Rowell, the New York Times best-selling author of Eleanor & Park.
Fangirl now comes with special bonus material: the first chapter from Rainbow's irresistible novel Carry On.

    Loved Levi
Great story. Fell in love with the character Levi. Wasn't much of a fan of the story within a story but loved the main story line so it was bearable.
As amazing as I knew it was going to be.
Ever since I read Fangirl it's been one of my all time favourite books. Living in the UK we usually get stuff behind the rest of the world but when I finally saw it was available I screamed like the fangirl I am I'm 27 and happy to call myself a fangirl. This book was performed amazingly I love how it switched from Cath to the Simon Snow scenes absolutely fantastic I love this book even more thank you Rainbow Rowell for all your amazing stories. xx
    Very moreish
The more I listened, the more I wanted to know. I've stayed up for about a weeks listening to this book until 1am ! I wish it didn't end the way it did as I really wanted to hear what happened at the end!
    Really fun read
Great coming of age story! A feel good for anyone who get anxious in social situations. Definitely recommend for young adults
    I listened twice
This story is wonderful escapism, with all the layers of fiction, fan fiction and the story of Cath's days at college. I finished it, had the usual few days of music gap, then started it again. I didn't have any new titles I wanted to hear as much as I wanted to hear this again. It's not challenging, it's a comforting listen and I love it.

    Publisher's Summary:
In this companion story to Numbers Game, Chan Norwell comes from the perfect citizen family. His mother is chief of the city monitor force, his brother an all-star, and his sister a prodigy - which leaves little wiggle room for a nobody like Chan. He is determined to have his time in the spotlight at last. But he doesn't expect things to go so horribly wrong. Alone, dishonored, and humiliated, Chan can only see one way out.
When he meets Maizel, a brilliant redhead determined to follow in her mother's suicidal footsteps, he sees his life for what it really is. If Chan can find the courage to try one more time - if he can save Maizel - maybe there's a chance he can also save himself.

POOR CHAN!! BEING AVERAGE IS NOT A BAD THING!!
Where does Chan's Story rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
It was a good novella...it really touched my heart, I hate this rating system!
What other book might you compare Chan's Story to and why?
    I cant...its unique!
What about Anthony Lees performance did you like?
He was good, I liked him!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
    I did its short! lol
    Any additional comments?
Chan comes from a high green family...his parents expect a lot from him, and are very hard on him. When he is rated yellow on his rating day, they disown him, and when he goes to kill himself by jumping off a well known building, he meets Maizel...and she gives him the courage to go on...he saves her, and ultimately saves himself! This rating system is horrible and I hope in book 3 they find away to end it!
    A Taste of Chan
The Numbers Game written by Rebecca Rode is a dystopia/post-apocalyptic series based on a society whose lives are determined by the base number they receive upon graduation from school. This number determines if they can continue on with their education, what job they are assigned, where they live, what they wear, who they date and can marry and every other part of their lives. Chan is a despicable character in the main series so it was interesting to see the beginnings of what drove him to who he became.
Chan Norwell comes from the perfect citizen family of greens. Needless to say he is under a lot of pressure to succeed in school as well as acceptable athletics. When things do not go as planned and he meets Maizel, life and the numbers game takes on a whole new meaning.
I really enjoyed this snippet of Chan as a school age teen and really hope to be let in on more of the story that makes him who he eventually becomes in the present day Numbers Game. I also secretly hope he redeems himself in the end.
Narration is provided by Anthony Lee, a new narrator for the series. He is perfect for the character of Chan, Maizel and the other characters in this story. He does an excellent job at characterization, individual voices, and giving us insight into their emotions.
Many thanks for allowing me to read and review this wonderful addition to the Numbers Game series. I eagerly wait for the next installment.
Great short set in a Dystopian future.
Chan's story is set ina future dystopina America where the US has fallen, and in the ashes grew a new totalitarian sytem that gives people a rating when they graduate school, determining their entire future. For Chan, who is overshadowed by his successful mother, and an older brother and younger sister that excel, the best he can hope for is mediocre.

Edgar Award-winning author Mindy McGinnis delivers a dark and riveting contemporary YA novel that blends the unflinching honesty of Laurie Halse Anderson's Speak with the relentless pacing and alternating perspectives of Gone Girl. A stunning, unforgettable listen.
Alex Craft knows how to kill someone. And she doesn't feel bad about it.
Three years ago, when her older sister, Anna, was murdered and the killer walked free, Alex uncaged the language she knows best - the language of violence. While her own crime goes unpunished, Alex knows she can't be trusted among other people. Not with Jack, the star athlete who wants to really know her but still feels guilty over the role he played the night Anna's body was discovered. And not with Peekay, the preacher's kid with a defiant streak who befriends Alex while they volunteer at an animal shelter. Not anyone.
As their senior year unfolds, Alex's darker nature breaks out, setting these three teens on a collision course that will change their lives forever.
    Members Reviews:
This book is a hot, fever-sick punch in the gut
And it's exactly what our society needs and deserves. Alex Craft is the repulsively attractive love child of rape culture and patriarchal dominance run rampant. She holds up a mirror to not only our society, but to us as individuals, and most of us won't like what we see. This book is about recognizing the monster within us, but also coming to terms with exactly how it got there in the first place. It's about owning up to all of the problems that we either directly caused ourselves, or that we allowed to fester while we stood by watching the infection slowly take hold, because fighting it is hard, and it's easier to become complacent and turn a blind eye until it affects you in a way so real and direct you can't ignore it anymore. That moment, that's the moment we begin to sympathize with the monster. That's the moment we can no longer judge her, because we wish we could be her. Wish we could do the things she does. Little do we know, until the end, how much of a monster we already are, and how, compared to us, Alex Craft is a saint. At the end of this book, I was completely destroyed. Not because of what happened, but because of how disgusted I was to see the monster out of its mask. Not Alex, but us.
    Wow! Zap! Bam-ing!
Alex and PK are the best example of what power friendship can have in a persons life. This is an amazing story and I don't say that very often. Alex who has lost so much reminds us all of dignity and basic niceness. This is a complex and dark story that completely caught me off guard. The what? To who? OMG!! That along with a couple of snorts at great quips and behavior insight.
Listen or read this book. You wont be disappointed
    dark truth
There were parts in the book which were hard to hear meaning I was sensitive to but I know there is a harsh reality to it. If you are sensitive to treatment of animals, rape , or curse words then this might not be a book for you. I thought the book addressed some important issues and put it out there to discuss which I like... No matter how difficult it is to hear/read about it.
    Raw and Gripping
Really enjoyed this book and I'm not easily impressed as I listen to a book a week and often struggle to find something unique and compelling.

    Publisher's Summary:
Part coming-of-age novel, part mystery, The Trouble with Goats and Sheep is a quirky and utterly charming debut about a community in need of absolution and two girls learning what it means to belong.
England, 1976. Mrs. Creasy is missing, and the Avenue is alive with whispers. The neighbors blame her sudden disappearance on the heat wave, but 10-year-olds Grace and Tilly aren't convinced. As the summer shimmers endlessly on, the girls decide to take matters into their own hands. Inspired by the local vicar, they go looking for God - they believe that if they find him they might also find Mrs. Creasy and bring her home.
Spunky, spirited Grace and frail, nervous Tilly go door to door in search of clues. As the cul-de-sac starts giving up its secrets, the amateur detectives uncover much more than they could have imagined. Instead of finding their missing neighbor, they must try to make sense of what they've seen and heard, and a complicated history of deception begins to emerge. Everyone on the Avenue has something to hide, a reason for not fitting in. It's only in the suffocating heat of the summer that the ability to guard these differences becomes impossible.
Along with the parched lawns and the melting pavement, the lives of all the neighbors begin to deconstruct. What the girls don't realize is that the lies told to conceal what happened one fateful day about a decade ago are the same ones Mrs. Creasy was beginning to peel back just before she disappeared.
For fans of Jeannette Walls' The Silver Star, this "is a gripping debut about the secrets behind every door" (Rachel Joyce, author of The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry).

    Thought provoking story
Just loved the story and the author's writing style.
Recommend this as a good book club read as well!
A good English neighborhood , through the peephole
A delightful book, narration excellent. The story of a small street in England where the neighbors think they know each others secrets. There are a few that they dont know. I like the pacing of the book, told from a little girls viewpoint. You slowly get to know what goes on behind closed doors, although the biggest secret of all leaves you dangling to the end. A good solid listen.
    Charming
Wonderful and lyrical.... and beautifully read..
I have already recommended to friends who do audible as well as bought the hardcover for friends who don't.
    Unusual story
LOVED the narrator ! She really brought the multiple characters in this unusual story to life.
    Debut Novel
What exquisite writing, each sentence is constructed with the gift of an artist! A parable worth reading.

    Publisher's Summary:
This vividly rendered novel is like HBO's Game of Thrones if it were set in the Ottoman Empire. Ambitious in scope and intimate in execution, the story's atmospheric setting is rife with political intrigue, with a deftly plotted narrative driven by fiercely passionate characters. Fans of Victoria Aveyard's The Red Queen, Kristin Cashore's Graceling, and Sabaa Tahir's An Ember in the Ashes won't want to miss this visceral, immersive, and mesmerizing novel, the first in a trilogy.
No one expects a princess to be brutal. And Lada Dragwlya likes it that way. Ever since she and her gentle younger brother, Radu, were wrenched from their homeland of Wallachia and abandoned by their father to be raised in the Ottoman courts, Lada has known that being ruthless is the key to survival. She and Radu are doomed to act as pawns in a vicious game, an unseen sword hovering over their every move. For the lineage that makes them special also makes them targets.
Lada despises the Ottomans and bides her time, planning her vengeance for the day when she can return to Wallachia and claim her birthright. Radu longs only for a place where he feels safe. And when they meet Mehmed, the defiant and lonely son of the sultan, who's expected to rule a nation, Radu feels that he's made a true friend - and Lada wonders if she's finally found someone worthy of her passion.
But Mehmed is heir to the very empire that Lada has sworn to fight against - and that Radu now considers home. Together, Lada, Radu, and Mehmed form a toxic triangle that strains the bonds of love and loyalty to the breaking point.
From New York Times best-selling author Kiersten White comes the first book in a dark, sweeping new series in which heads will roll, bodies will be impaled, and hearts will be broken.
    Critic Reviews:
"Full of sword fights, assassination plots, and palace intrigues, this novel is ambitious in scope and concept and reveals a fascinating, important, and somewhat obscure slice of history...the novel is breathtakingly good." (School Library Journal)
"White deftly weaves historical fact into this complex concoction of love, war, politics, homosexuality, religion, loyalty, and friendship." (Booklist)
"A dark jewel of a story, one that gleams with fierce, cunning characters - absolutely riveting." (Alexandra Bracken, number-one New York Times best-selling author of Passenger)
"Fiona Hardinghams commanding narration steers a clear path through this densely woven tapestry of mid-fifteenth-century intrigue.... Hardinghams resonant voice keeps listeners firmly grounded as a strange and destructive triangle of friendship and love develops, with forays into murder, lust, and homosexuality." (AudioFile)
    Members Reviews:
    Unique, beautiful, and eye opening
This is not a European fairytale. It is a glimpse into the Ottoman Empire and the lives of two abandoned royal children traded for political stability. Raised to choose brutality instead of fear, this story follows a brother , a sister, and the sultans son through their relationships, the politics of their time, and their own personal desires and aspirations
If you want a neatly packaged love story this book is not for you. But if you will let the authors story open new worlds and perspectives for you... You are in for a rare tale. Harsh without traumatizing the reader.
I'm glad to have read it.

Seventeen-year-old Jonah Daniels has lived in Verona Cove, California, his whole life, and only one thing has ever changed: His father used to be alive, and now he is not. With a mother lost in a deep bout of depression, Jonah and his five siblings struggle to keep up their home and the restaurant their dad left behind. But at the start of summer, a second change rolls in: Vivi Alexander, the new girl in town.
Vivi is in love with life. Charming and unfiltered, she refuses to be held down by the medicine she's told should make her feel better. After meeting Jonah, she slides into the Daniels household seamlessly, winning over each sibling with her imagination and gameness. But it's not long before Vivi's zest for life begins to falter. Soon her adventurousness becomes all-out danger seeking. Through each high and low, Vivi and Jonah's love is put to the test...but what happens when love simply isn't enough?

Wow. This story is a feast
I'm a grandmother and I loved every moment of this "young adult" novel. It dealt lovingly with real life issues and left me with tears and laughter
first audiobook I actually was able to finish
I have struggled to finish audiobooks in the past, preferring to read over listen. This one kept me hooked and I feel like even though it's labelled as young adult fiction, older people will enjoy the story and characters just as much as teens.
    AWESOME
amazing take on a struggle that doesn't get nearly enough literature. pulse narrator's did a very good job of bringing the characters to life. and the author wrote a wonderful, and balanced story between two characters
    Pleasant Surprise
I wasn't expecting to enjoy this as much as I did! This book pulls you into its characters and boldly illuminates mental illness and loss in a heart-wrenching and relatable way. If you're a sucker for romance, this is just the book for you. I simply adore the ending. It is wholly satisfying.

Would you consider the audio edition of When We Collided to be better than the print version?
Never read the print edition but LOVED the audio version!!!
What was one of the most memorable moments of When We Collided?
Jonah Daniels is one of six children in a family struggling with the sudden death of a beloved father and a mother who can't get out of bed due to her deep grief. Into Verona Cove, Vivi bounds in and falls in love with Jonah and each of the Daniels children. As Vivi's love of life, excitement, and adventure patches up the Daniels family, Jonah finds hope, love and healing with Vivi. I could not stop listening to this audiobook (I kept finding reasons to walk, exercise or just sit and listen) that was gripping, heartbreaking and true. Vivi, narrated by Elizabeth Evans was funny, sensitive and kind while Jonah narrated by Raviv Ullman was shy, hopeless, and ultimately changed as a result of knowing and loving Vivi. What will the future hold for these two seventeen year old teens with seemingly insurmontable problems? A must read for those who love romance, struggling teens, and family problems.
