Slow start then good

At first I was disappointed but I gave it a second try. And I was not disappointed after all. I couldn't put it down surprise ending and I need to read the next book because I want to know how the plot goes on

Gets better

Started out slow with too many characters which didn't seem.developed to determine who was who. However the storyline improve and interest peaked. Will read the sequel if there is one upcoming.

Page-turning fun!

I devoured this book in a weekend! The characters were well-written, and realistic. I loved that the book started off in the middle of "situation". So many novels start off with the reader getting to know the characters, which often makes it difficult to keep going. This one started off quickly and kept going from there. I found many of the scenes to be funny, and were reminiscent of what you'd see in a Christmas movie. I have read most of her books, and this one is in the top percent of those I'd read again. My only complaint was the ending. It didn't feel final, and I felt slightly let-down when I read the last pages. Nonetheless, this book will definitely be recommended to friends.

Entertaining start to a series

It is a fast and entertaining read that draws you into a heart warming, yet dysfunctional family. I enjoyed the characters, and it reads like a television family drama series. It moves quickly, which made some moments in the book feel unrealistic, but it makes for good entertainment. You will leave this book genuinely liking the characters and wishing to read more about where life takes each of them. Good thing there are more books in this series because the ending feels abrupt.

Absolutely love this book and the rest of the series. It is a great read for Christmas/Winter time. Elin Hilderbrand is amazing with her story telling. The book flows and is such a page turner!!!

Unsettling parallels

The more I read the book the more it felt like the diary of a radicalised extremist (with magic powers).

The main character is groomed and hardened by circumstances and by Lucian. She becomes alright with violent bombings and murder. She sets about converting others to her cause.

And then there was that very Martyr-like beheading.

Hmm. Unsettling ....

A fun and pacy book

This was a great story that was really brought to life by the narrator's accents and intonation. It felt really immersive and like I was actually overhearing the characters speak.

Fun story but narrator was hard to bare

The narrator used the voices you use when you are mocking someone for all the other characters... Didn't give a good vibe. Fun story though!

I started out enjoying this book, I like the narrator's voice reading the book. But the character voices are way over the top and all sound the same, I can't tell who's who. Still listening but losing interest fast.

Emotional and sweet

Very good story well balanced and thorough. The scene setting was great with how their relationship evolved Brian such a great guy, I liked how committed he was from the start and it didn't change.

Great book but I expect this calibre of writing from J Daniels.

Review for four letter word

I really enjoyed the book. The only thing I didn't like is the music at the start went on to long and the story had started

Boring.

Then end was like waiting for grass to grow. You knew it would happen eventually. But do you really want to sit there and wait it out? I confess, I never got to the ending. For me the book ended 5 to 6 chapters before the authors end. It was just slowly dragging it's feet to finish. I didn't want to sit through the last 3 to 4 hours that it was going to take to finally die. :( I wouldn't recommend it. But everyone has different tastes. so who knows, you might like it.

Great.

Loved this book but then I'm a huge Mary Nichols fan. I love the WW2 era in books and the story in this was great.

Jean is running the farm singled handed while her brother is a prisoner of war in Germany. Karl is the German POW here in England who is sent to work on the farm with her. And so the love story begins. It's about peoples attitudes to other people and how these can change so quickly. I also learned a lot about POW camps from both sides and about amputees and false limbs. A great read and I'd highly recommend it.

Delightful country romance

This is a delightful rural romance set in the small outback WA town of Lake Biddy. Natalie is a newly minted teacher who wants to enjoy a year teaching in a small town and living on her own before being subsumed by her wealthy family into the life she is expected to lead as a wife and mother. She immediately falls in love with the country, the kids and the people in the town. She strikes up a friendship with the Saddler boys, Billy a youngster in her class and his single Dad Drew who are more than eager to teach her about country life. Although she has a boyfriend in Perth, she starts finding more excuses not to go back home each weekend and gradually becomes a part of local life.

You can tell that Fiona Palmer loves the Australian outback as she writes about it and its people so well. She really understands not only the stark beauty of the landscape but also the country way of life and the big personalities that it tends to generate. Even though we have a feeling that we know where this story is going from the moment we open the first page there is plenty of interest with the events and characters in the novel to keep us turning the pages and there some surprises along the way. A very satisfying read indeed.

Thouroughly enjoyed this. Being a West Aussie and growing up in the country I love ready books about the place I love. The characters are easily to love and will be missed now I've finished. Looking forward to reading my next Fiona Palmer novel.

Long and drawn out story. Narration excellent though. Have read all of Paige's other books and this is not up to scratch in my opinion.

Great feel good story

This is a great story with a twist. I love the portrayal of sisterhood, and the way Jaynie's character blossoms from this shy, unconfident, wall flower to a happy, strong and independent woman.

This book was good and I loved the message but it was slow at times and really easy to put down and forget about for a few months. I think that was my biggest problem. There were moments where I was so into the book and I couldn't put it down and then it'd get to a part where I just...lost interest and then I'd put the book away and read something else. Rinse and repeat throughout the last five months.

I'd still recommend reading it because a) it's J.A. Redmerski and b) the characters are amazing and I loved the romance.

Sienna Murphy is in Hawaii to execute a wedding planning job. While everything seems to go wrong and she steps out to take a few deep breaths and relax, she meets carefree surfer-boy Luke Everett and they exchange a couple of words. Luke's straightforwardness and the way he sees through her struck her, and suddenly make her question all her choices. The first one being stepping on a plane back to San Diego.

What I loved about this book:

Hawaii? The setting? But that's gotta be it!

What I felt needed improvement:

The pace of the book

The flat storyline

I used to be a huge J.A. Redmerski fan, and still think that The Edge of Never is a wonderful book that will forever remain on my Top 20 list of books to read before you die. However, The Moment of Letting Go wasn't quite as good as previous books from this author. Two things majorly put me off when reading this book. First:the main characters., and second: the pace and the storyline.

Let's tackle the first concern first. Well, I just thought Sienna was really kind of a"meh" character. She works a job that she doesn't really enjoy, she has friends which aren't really friends because they are both from completely different worlds, and she gave up on so many passions for the sake of the job previously mentioned (and which she doesn't particularly like).

So yeah, running into a crazy carefree guy like Luke sounds like she is bound to think twice about the life she has been living up until now. But then again, Luke is the complete opposite. While Sienna is more like a "live to work" kind of person, Luke is someone who (casually) works to live, and who wants to live life to the fullest.
