Readers were first introduced to Hudson Wheeler in Marked Men series. ÂThis quiet, sexy, unassuming mechanic has intrigued readers throughout the Marked Men series and the Saints of Denver series. ÂHe has earned the respect of all the men in the series. ÂHis earnest quiet nature has intrigued all the ladies throughout the series. ÂHe seems like the perfect guy except for his choices in women. Binge-Worthy

I loved this trip back to Venice.

I couldn't bare to put this book down - having visited Venice it was a wonderful trip back. Loved the quirky story line of an artist experiencing a life of riches for a space in time. The characters were so lovable you lost yourself in the charade. Thank you T.A. Williams I can't wait to read another of your books.

Loved this book!!

Delightful story with a wonderful main character, fabulous hero, and a great crew of supporting characters. Beautiful scenes of Venice, loved the narrative. Entertaining and highly recommended for lovers of this genre.

Since Rico thought Penny was Olivia, why did Penny pretend she lived in a cheap hotel? It would have made more sense to go to the luxury hotel she was staying in, since Rico thought she was a millionaire. That deception was just plain weird . Penny was playing the part of Olivia not herself.

Great Book

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It really brought alive the way life was then. My parents were also married during World War II and had to deal with being separated. My mother often talked with me about what her life was like then. Many fathers did not see their children until they were 2 or 3 years old. Many wives depended on their families to help them through those difficult years alone. Many couples married after only knowing each other for very short periods of time. Despite difficulties, the majority of these marriages survived until "death did them part". I was glad the characters' lives were chronicled over many years - showing their struggles and joys. I also thought it was so true how people tend to not share the bad parts of their lives with others. I have written all my reading friends and recommended this book to them. It is well worth reading - I could hardly put it down!

Fantastic Read!

This is a fantastic book. I'm so surprised there aren't more reviews on it. The author definitely captured the time period and brought all the characters alive. I could hardly put it down and read until early morning hours. It's definitely worth reading. Loved it!

Saints of Denver Church's Story...

Originally Reviewed on my book blog the Bewitching Bibliophile

I really loved this one. Romance, unrequited lov, a road trip, small southern towns and a bit of a mystery all rolled into one with another hot southern charmer in the Denver crew. Church is close to the main Marked Men because he is friends with all of them but especially with Rome as they served together in the Army. I loved that we didn't get the hints of Church's true story until the story really began on their way out of Denver. I also loved that Jay recognized that there are instances where it really sucks to travel deeper into the heartland, and even had instances of scenarios where as a black person int he US we notice things that the white person traveling with us might not even be aware of.

This is Church's story and Church shared with us his hunt for finding a place as a biracial child in a small town that isn't always as open and forgiving as some like to think. We see instances of the camaraderie of a community as well as the instances of coldness with yo are clearly other. I loved that even in these moments there were moments of acceptance for Church by the people who matter most.

Con of the story:

The mystery wasn't fully formed; it was a bit of just background noise ; it didn't have me at the edge of the seat. I guessed pretty early who it was (huge mystery reader, so yeah). The reveal still made me nervous because Jay isn't afraid to make our characters hurt and badly too. But damn that was still unhinged and just dang why?? Why are people so horrible??

Pros of the story:

I found it engaging, but as the story moved on I couldn't help wondering if it might be better on the self-help section. It's attention to detail in the loss and grieving process started to disengage my interest as a novel, but could easily see how it would be helpful to others.

Intelligent chic lit!

I cant bear standard chic lit, full of one cliche after another. I wont consider any book with cupcakes or Italian sea shores on the cover. I took a chance on this though after a 5*, but particularly tough going book on domestic abuse. I needed something light before returning to my favourite crime fiction genre. This is a tale of mature women, sisters, forced together after their mothers death. It was a good read/listen. I could have done without the excessive love interest, but even that was handled differently to the usual chic lit. All in all, recommended.

Anyone with a complex relationship with their siblings will relate

Really beautifully narrated, and the story is very compelling. It describes very gently and beautifully a complex relationship between the three sisters in older age, and gently reminds us things aren't always what they seem in life. Truly heartwarming. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Disappointing and slightly tawdry

I loved The Rosie Project and liked The Rosie Effect so really looked forward to this despite it not being a comedy. Graeme Simsion writes poignancy very well and the beginning of the romance between Angelina and Adam was quite sweet and engaging. Unfortunately it all turned a bit bleugh in the second half with the characters indulging in some pretty inane and unpleasant behaviour and I quickly fell out of love with the whole thing.

This novel uses music as the backdrop to the story and it is a nice touch making the playlist available on Spotify but to be honest I found the selection not as amazing as the author clearly thinks it is. I also wanted to narrator to sound a bit less flat and bored.

Overall this was a nice try but sadly lacking in Graeme Simsion's characteristic charm.

Navel gazing and melancholy times. Unlikeable characters and predictable outcome.

It felt like a bad play that you didn't have the energy to walk out of at the interval just in case it didn't turn out as you expected. It did.

Unlikeable characters going monotonously through all the questions everyone ever has about a young love which doesn't work out. Just made me feel sad for the world. Disappointing, especially after The Rosie Project.

A very different book to the Rosie Project

I wrong (and probably unfairly) presumed this book would be similar to the previous two in the 'Rosie' series. The synopsis on audible also indicated this. It's not a simile book and I wouldn't have guessed it was the same author. I didn't mind it but it dragged on a bit and took a long time to get anywhere.

Massively disappointing

I had high hopes for this. I loved The Rosie Project and its sequel, but here, the characters are boring, the narrative is weak and confused and the writing mediocre at best. It lacks any of the humour I so loved in TRP.

Compelling Listen

Great little read - but then I could be just ...

Great little read - but then I could be just a bit biased ... I'm a huge tea fan, and I'm English/Australian so fully understood all the places, jargon, colloquialisms - not to mention the tea tales. There is store in Australia (and the UK - but the company is Australian) called Tea 2 and I'm wondering which came first - the business or the book! The characters are well drawn out and believable, and there are a few twists to keep you guessing. Well worth the $2 or so on kindle.

A Good Read

Delightful characters who weave in and around an interesting setting. Clear descriptions, enough action to make it hard to put down and easy tp pick up! Some concentration needed, especially at the beginning, to follow the characters in different time frames. A better appreciation of tea is a consequence of reading this book!

I thought the story started well but then became became a bit unbelievable.Why did Kate have to pay out so much money and exactly

what for?There was too much about mixing strange ingredients with tea and the dubious benefits.I also thought hiring an actor from America to defraud an Australian in London was unbelievable.There were far too many side plots which were both confusing and farcical.

very interesting, especially as further information regarding Jack the Ripper, has come to light. Good to find that the characters are now in another book of the series.
